2021 Carrier 3.5 Ton Clean And Inspect For 2024 Cooling Season

Ғылым және технология

It's that time of year to make sure the 2021 3.5 ton Carrier is up to the task of keeping me cool during the long, hot summer months, and the fourth cooling season for this unit.
After making sure power is disconnected, the most important thing shown, is the condenser coil cleaning, to ensure good air flow for proper operation. I decided to test the dual capacitor, and it checks out ok. However, I always keep a spare on hand, as well as a contactor, since they are very common failure points. Will be picking up a spare condenser fan motor this year. All the cleaning, touch up paint, and waxing is personal preference, and not necessary to ensure proper operation.
After I finished up with the condenser unit, I go inside, and replace the filter, so I have proper air flow on that side of the system as well. Heat wasn't used that much, and the filter reflected that. I'm sure the filter installed in this video will make it just over one month.

Oh my God you're fantastic. I would love to hire you. You're so thorough. Way better than any AC guy cause I've seen them. I've had them here.

Thanks! This system wasn't cheap, so I'll do anything I'm able, to prolong it.

Crazy! I was just reading comments on a video about how residential trades are going to have trouble in the future. KZread university is a real thing. I have fixed ac issue with KZread for $100 bucks that a guy wanted 3k for. Uv protect the wires seems really smart!

That's awesome you saved so much money repairing the issue yourself! Yep, I've fixed many things referencing a KZread video over the years. Yeah, I was noticing they had faded, so I thought, what the heck, I'll put some UV protectant on them.
