2021 Beta 300rr Ride Review

Ойын-сауық

A review on the 2021 Beta 300rr. A few changes this year for the Beta 300rr most notably the suspension feels better than last years. As always the motor is the strong suit on the 300rr with great power delivery for enduro riding. The one thing on this bike I don't like is the poor steering radius, even on this flowy ride I had the bars a full lock in between the trees a few times. Thanks again to Russ for coming out and letting me test his bike.

I know a dealer that sold KTM, Husky & Beta. Moore & Sons in Santa Cruz Ca. He was there at least 25 years that I know of. He’s gone as of 2019. He said. KTM have more issue that are Warrenty/no Warrenty than beta. He says Betas never come back but KTM’s.. just shook his head. They need to resolve the turning radius thing but that’s about it. No. I wouldn’t buy a KTM

I would say that is a accurate review. I prefer my 2021 Beta 300rr compared to my 2019 300xcw tpi bike. As you say, it is a easy bike to ride in the single track. Like the lower seating height. The stock seat is probably the hardest seat I've ever sat on. I ended up buying a Seat Concepts seat that is also 5/8 of a inch lower.

Rode all the Beta range. I'm a KTM 300 owner too. Hated the Beta sachs suspension, under sprung and under damped. However loved the motor. Way more grunt out the box than the KTM bikes. The two was my favorite. More grunt that a stock KTM 300 I thought. Also thought the dimensions were to small. Beta need to start making their bikes 10% bigger. The size was a deal breaker for me.

I'd totally agree with the poor steering radius, have a 2021 300rr and this is my biggest gripe in how the bike rides so far. The motor is very tractable, makes technical sections a breeze. One thing i've found with the beta in comparison to my old yamaha was the general fit and finish is somewhat poorer. Stripped bolts, holes not tapped right the way through, leaking reeds, all from the factory. Also if you like to do things by the book the manual is trash compared to a japanese bike, absolute bare minimum of information, torque specs etc. The bike is mint to ride and I love it, but I feel the somewhat poor quality control is a letdown.
