Acura's one of the few companies which hasn't replaced the whole front end with a massive grill and replaced every button with a screen. Meticulous, high quality detail is quite evident in the interior, despite an ever-so-slightly outdated design. Love this car though, and great review!

Have had this generation RDX model (2019) for almost 3 years now. Still love it. Never had a problem, not a squeak, solid as ever, and still a joy to drive. When I first got it, the competition (BMW, Lexus, Audi) were all 10K+ higher in price. Great value and great vehicle for the price.

Honda/Acura does a great job of making their heavier vehicles feel light on their feet. They’ve managed to bring me back around to them with their latest batch of cars... good looks, nice interiors, pleasant to drive.

Reason for honda /Acura vehicles being heavier than competitors is due to steel to strengthen certain areas to give great visibility, but increase safety standards. Many reviewers don't do homework when reviewing things like new NSX. Topher seem to do his homework, which many other do us a disservice for quick cash.

  • @TheKingkingg

@@Blank00 the new and old NSX are and was hated because they are too good! Because they are built by team of engineers expressing Mr Honda's philosophy which safety, reliable and fun to drive, but just like choice in women, some people look at girls that only look good but not virtuous as being ideal... Likewise, the NSX which is like a beautiful, professional lady, that is very good cook, very good parent, athletic without being self obsorbed, great in bed, and even though many try to sleep with her, she remains faithful and never flirtatious.... That's why so many don't like NSX. She is not interested in fame, care about how much money you have... You love her, she will treat you good for life. Men that have awesome women loving them loves NSX.

@@TheKingkingg this might be the best comment I've ever read about a vehicle in my life. Not that it matters but I'm just curious your age? Not that I want a man but I'm just curious if a man like you is in my age range! Don't get me wrong I know plenty of men or there are great men. I'm not a feminist like in today's society but more like a 50's styles where we want to work and vote. That's about it. Anyways if you're married your wife is lucky and I'm sure you feel just as lucky to have her. With this type of review it wasn't at the top of my list but it's going on there to test drive. Since I was a little girl I always wanted a Ford Bronco or International Scout. They released the Ford Bronco the day I was told I was 3 months clean of squamous cell carcinoma that spread to my bones and endometrial cancer. It was the hardest fight of my life and I've never wanted a new car in my life nor have I bought one but when I got home and got that notification I felt like this was my sign and my time. I hate speeding a lot for a vehicle but it's my dream car. I'm a beach bum and like to throw my board in there and all my gear for camping and hiking. I don't do rock climbing or trail riding for my suv but for me personally. I'm still debating getting a first generation of the new bronco due to issues that are pretty much guaranteed to come to light and I've already been notified of mine being pushed back due to issues. I'm pretty picky about the size of my suv because I don't like longer rectangled vehicles that make it harder to grab a parking spot at the beach. That's why certain suv's are out from the start like expedition, passport and pilot. I tend to like the Honda CRV and had several over the years and a Ford escape. I love the fj cruiser and honda element but both are pretty old with high mileage with the ones in my area. I love the element since I can spray the entire suv down. I also enjoy riding with the windows down and sunroof open even in the winter. I've always wanted a jeep but too many horror stories for me for the price. I just don't know if he money is worth the new bronco even though it's my dream suv. I'm definitely going to try out this suv before buying the bronco and the fj cruiser if I can find one in great shape with low miles even if it cost me more because I get very attached to my vehicle's and I don't like spending money I don't have to on getting new ones all the time to keep up with people.

@@UnderTheMillkyWay thanks for your very kind words... I'm not married, but in a serious relationship and I do have friends. I am mid 40. I love new Bronco, and yes it's expensive but offers lots for the money, and resale value is important. My first word as a child was car and love wide variety, however, I love value and Mr Honda values and philosophy... Check out history. I own various products from different manufacturers, however, the Honda /Acura vehicles are well engineered (Real automotive people know Handa is considered a engineering company that is first priority then making money to continue, while others are all about making products to make money)

Switching the new MDX steering to sport I believe is the sweet spot for all the Acura products. It's feels slightly more responsive than the new TLX I drove and makes the MDX seem so nimble without the feathery steering in normal or comfort. I am very curious how they will adjust the Type S steering in both the MDX and TLX to make it match the aggressive mission of this very sporty trim level.

Yesterday I drove a 2021 ACURA RDX Advance, supposedly the top-of-the-line model. I found it handled vey well but the steering feel was not quite as good as my 2019 MAZDA CX-5 GT Reserve.(2.5 L. turbo, AWD). Also the seat cooling was not as good. Otherwise the RDX was excellent. REALLY good sound system, high quality interior, great and responsive transmission, well sorted infotainment system. But I much prefer the standard MAZDA shifter to the buttons and knobs on the RDX. Nice exterior design but I'll still take my CX-5 design. Only the P.O.S. Jaguar F-Pace or Alfa SUV looks a bit better. But both of those are WAAAY down in reliability compared to either my CX-5 or the RDX.

The performance just isn't there compared to the completion. Motor Trend says the RDX 2.0T is slower than the 2019 QX50 2.0T with it's new engine from the Accord 2.0T is putting out more in the compact SUV. "...The 268-hp crossover recorded a 0-60 mph time of 6.6 seconds and a 15.1-second quarter mile at 91.6 mph. That's a good bit slower than the last 280-hp Alfa Romeo Stelvio Ti Sport we tested but slightly quicker than the 272-hp Acura RDX A-Spec." So C&D 6.6 second 0-60 mph was correct on calling it a Bspec or Cspec. Even Consumer Reports's 7.0s 0-60 was also correct. No sub 6-second time for RDX 2.0T.. Consumer Reports Emergency Lane Change Test, braking from 60 mph. Buick Envision 55.5 mph, 128 ft CX-5(187hp) 54 mph, 133 ft Q5 52.2 mph, 130 ft RDX 52.5, 127 ft X3 53.0 mph, 130 ft Macan 51.5 mph, 130 ft MDX 52.5 mph, 135 ft NX 50 mph, 132 ft QX50 56 mph, 129 ft Stelvio 53 mph, 132 ft C&D has the Envision braking from 70 mph at a segment topping 158 ft. You want to compare Buick to the Acura in reliability? Out of possible 5 Envision- 4 RDX- 1 Q5- 2 X3- 2 Macan- 3 MDX- 4 NX- 5 QX50- 3 Stelvio- 3

I have. 2019 A-spec. It’s a great car. The only complaint I have is that when you are braking to a full stop and then want to get back on the gas really quick … like at a stop sign, or left turn across traffic. The engine just freezes for a 1 sec or 2 while the transmission hunts for proper gear. It can make for a dangerous situation until you get to used to it and anticipate it doing that on you. That might be common thing with drive by wire cars though? I don’t know, I had a WRX before this Acura so I was used to just thrashing it through gears and doing what ever I wanted to with the car and the car just responding immediately. 😥 Miss that 2012 WRX.

I just traded a Crosstour for a Stinger. This car is great and Honda/Acura reliability is excellent.came from american muscle cars and was sick of them being in the shop--I was also married at the time and the crosstour was the longest i ever owned a car. When I traded it in on the stinger--every button--seats-were just as tight as the day I bought it,I wanted more performance and goto public drag night is also why I got a stinger over this--but I waited about 3 months seeing if they would put a twin turbo or even a single turbo v6 in these and they did not.Your gas mileage seems low--I got 23 plus in my crosstour V6 3.5.I am also at 22 MPG in my Stinger right now--in comfort mode--I say i drive normally but brisk--usually 10 mph over the speed limit outside of neighborhoods--either you got a heavy foot or the weight and aerodynamics is sapping the fuel.I also have AWD in my Stinger 3.3TT and on the HWY-and I am usually at 80 to 85--I am at almost 27 mpg.My next vehicle will probably be something that sits up high like this--Genesis GV70 looks like my next choice unless they get a powerful TT6 on an RDX and keep it under 70k.

I'm always a fan of Acura interiors. My only dislike is the odometer display. Don't like it when the needle is the same color as the rest of the gauge. Many times I find myself going 10-15 miles over the speed limit in the city. Freeway is even worse. My old 04 TSX had a red needle on white face so I can easily gauge my speed without looking.

I just bought this model. Is there a way to permanently turn off the annoying idle stopper feature or do you have to get used to pressing the button off every time you start the vehicle? I didn't see you press the button off during the video or did I miss that? Thanks for the great review. No mumbling, "ummms or uhhhs "and no distracting noises like cables clicking in the background, really well done.

Thank you for the great review! I have to say though, the more I look at the interior design, especially the center console with the large button to change driving modes the less I like it. To me it just does not look as clean as some of the latest Korean and German models - even the new Honda Civic. Really favoring all digital dashboards too. I think Acura should have gone all digital dashboard for RDX and TLX.

Great review! Kind of late on the comment here, but just curious how tall you are? I’m looking into getting the new rdx, but want to make sure it’s not too small for me.
