This truck is lit! Western Star trucks are in a league of their own, no other brand pays attention on the little details like Western Does, you have to own one to truly appreciate what I'm talking about.

Absolutely gorgeous truck. Always liked Western Star and dont see it ending due to this and more like it. Techno package? Maybe. As long as the overall species is not disfigured or tampered. A drawing board idea one might consider a "dash riser." As you are in #1 seat the dead space from top of the dash to the point of and across the hood is an electronic dream area that no one uses. The entire length of the dash top can rise approximately 5 inches, much like the fairing on the cab. Interior axle scales, global positioners, actual rand map maker electronic maps, full interior tandem adjustments. A flat top dash fades the beauty, lends no strength and has no support function for a driver. Its wasted space. All to name a few. Western Star is a Truck. Keep this sic beast as a truck...rolling to the next generation.

Sealed beam GLASS headlights External breathers Dual air horns 2 piece windshield dual...everything Big square hood Heavy specd suspension Full individual gauges 18 speed tranny Even an old school trailer brake Swap a 6NZ instead of that DD16 and that's my dream ride right there.

That 6nz is going to put a hurt on your wallet buddy just go with Detroit 12.7 series 60 boost up to 500 horse power you'd be a bad ass fk even a Cummins N14 would be way better no over heating loss of power specially on the up hills in my opinion

The dash looks like cheap plastic as do the peterbilt ones. The new scanias we get in the UK have a much more carlike interior and interior quality

The 4900 has a great looking interior and dash not like the crap inside the 49x. The wood look in the sleeper is way better then plastic everything imo. The one thing I'd do away with is that seat color, looks like something my little nephew leaves in diaper other then that I like it.

Dinosaurs don't have to die. Take this beast to a pilot or T/A and the rear lights dont get torn out from the center humps in the asphalt because of cheap lots and deep ruts when backed in. Raised lights behind the drives, perfect. I hate a short-nosed stubby truck. We can actually still make a truck that is not fiberglass and plastic with a pitman arm under the brake pedal? Amazing!

Glad they've stuck with the same dash layout. Only 2 things from this video I can pick at. 1Why do they put CB's where you can't see them? 2 Why can't a truck manufacturer design a rack to hang your wet towel?

Well I'm very perceptive to things. The inside I loved it. What stood out most to me out of everything was..... Drum Roll plz...... Yes you guessed it the chrome Spike old school. The rest no thanks I'll just take the Spike and be on my way. Oh and the chrome rims too. They really out did the rest of the truck. I'll put them in my old school truck. Sure do miss yesterday. Oh well enjoy Milli's the new generation.

Nice rig, but it would have been a lot nicer if they had someone cut and buff all the orange peel out of that paint. _Especially_ being at a show!

All the square nose look the same Butterworth Pita-bilt and freightshaker classik, someone should bring back the ford which actually looked different even though it had sealed beams. Or even bring back a Mack R series front look alike.

I love how Western Star never changes anything much. I have a 2001 limited edition 4900 with a 475 hp Cat engine and a 13 speed. My interior is falling apart in it but it's nice to know i can buy brand new interior and make it look like a 2020.

Freightliner now has a MAN in the room.

I drive a 2017 Western Star 4900 like this one but with 6 axles and a crane on the back but fully loaded with the same dash and seats and while it looks nice, the truck itself is after 2 years falling apart. It’s just a glorified Freightliner. Everything rattles and shakes so bad that the telltale lights on the dash have all fallen off the strip and all you have is a strip of leds.

Why do they always put that cb radio in all the trucks that looks like it’s from the 60’s?

Because some drivers use their CB radio to communicate with other drivers. Try it some time.

Westernstar ,ties peterbilt for best looking. Beats peterbilt for driveline. DD16 best engine since Cat.

I think that is a terrible job on the upholstery! It's very loose and wrinkled which absolutely ruins the look of the studded classic look! Other than that, honestly this truck is breath taking! Beautiful paint, great layout of gauges and location of both radio and stereo! Super job guys!
