This past weekend the Taiwan Drone Racing League held a race at an abandoned part of car drifting track 亞哥花園 in Taichung, Taiwan. Racers from all over the island gathered to compete in the largest domestic race of the year so far. This event is very significant for a couple of reasons -
1. This is the first time a Double Elimination format bracket was used in a Taiwan race bringing us in-line with international competitions.
2. The venue was unique in that it utilized abandoned structures as part of the course, the first time in Taiwan.
3. This was the first time I ran my self designed drone frame in a race against professional frames to much success.
4. The weather and soggy rain conditions were extremely challenging ⛈⛈⛈
5. This race had the most concrete explosions I've ever seen at an event 🤣
In conclusion, while I achieved the best possible outcome, I still made quite a few unforced errors - there's a lot more work to be done.
