T-Motor F40, F50, F60 Comparison | 5" Racing Series
Спорт
Let's talk about the T-Motor F40 Pro, F60 Pro, and the new F50s for 5 inch racing! With 3 motors to choose from, how do you know which one to pick? Well, the answer depends on a couple of things such as your build, flying style, and kind of the track you fly. So let's dive into the 3 motors and talk about the pros and cons of each, hopefully making it easier to find the right one for you.

Thanks Dwade!! Feedback like this is really gratifying ☺
1. You got balls of steel racing over a pool like that!!! 2. Do you use different motors or props as you change tracks, or do you stick with the same setup for everything? Great comparison video. No one explains why to use what, that all just say "this is the best, use it!". I am using the TMotor Velox series motors and ESC, and am loving them.

Thanks Chainsaw! 1. Haha I did lose a drone in the water on the second day of the race sadly. I think in total 15+ drones went into the water from all the competitors. 2. Generally I use the same motors and props for consistent stick feel. However for indoor tracks I would consider either using throttle cap or a lower pitch prop like the new Gemfan 5131. I base my decision based on how high on the throttle I'm comfortable with. If I feel confident I can beat mid-high throttle, I won't change anything. If I feel so uncomfortable I'd be at low throttle, then I'd use lower pitch prop. As for motors I try to keep them all one type across my race fleet.
we did see each other at the race :D great comparison

Hey! Hmmmm I don't think I have a particularly scientific tuning process but my process is that I generally start with a tune preset that I like (MCK, Karate or CTZ Snooze). BF is so good that you can get pretty "ballpark" feel with most presets which actually makes tuning sorta hard because there's multiple tunes that could work. Then I set up my "tuning" track which has a bunch of elements that use different ranges of throttle such as corskrews, long straights, slow bends etc and I fly it. This way I have a consistent way of judging how the tune performs. I'll tweak numbers one at a time and note down the result. My requirement is that it needs to be generally faster without making any more noise or heat on the hardware. The reason I prefer to start from a preset is to skip starting from scratch and also because the being a preset, it has already been tested by many pilots so it provides a foundation for me. As for what I use, I started with MCK Tune but I overwrite the filters with Karate Array. Then I've changed the numbers a lot over time. However my frame is pretty small and light (about 245g without props and lipo) so it's similar to what other people are using the presets for.
Nice... been waiting for this comparisn for so long 🙌.... Thanks 🤗
