Great review Adrian. The X50 looks so stylish. Laughed when you mentioned Matt Watson's Carwow "stick of truth" :-) Looks like the X50 needs more powerful struts for the tailgate. My Tucson tailgate rises easily. Keep up the fantastic work.

X50 is 1.4 tons, around the same with Jetta. So the city consumption is around that. Only at highway speed my Jetta get 15km per l. If want better fuel economy, go for activa which weigh 1 ton and give 18lkm per l.

Hello WapCar, I saw an article on the web about how to care for DCT in Proton X50. I quote below. Looks like this came from Proton. Do you have an official source for this from Proton? "During prolonged standstill, it is recommended to shift to ‘Neutral’ position for safety (accidental release of the brake pedal) as well as to prolong the lifespan of engine and transmission roll mountings. Furthermore, there is a safety function whereby the engagement of Auto Brake Hold will be automatically shifted to Electric Parking Brake after 10 minutes of standstill. This is to prevent the brake system from overheating"

Right side mirror is a MAJOR ROAD SAFETY issue. A complaint should be lodged with the Ministry of Transport if Proton doesn't fix it.

Xpander have really bad safety features. For a modern car, 2 airbags is not acceptable. For a family car, safety must come 1st. Aruz, rush or any modern sedan cars like almera city vios would be a better option.

A godsent when travelling long distance or in traffic jam. It drives and stop in the jam for you! About the thigh support, you are right! But i worked around it by crossing my legs while the car drives it self, making it so comfortable. Worth the money. My 1st proton, from BMW.

Another things is perhaps you should wait for CMCO to over and test it on genting road, because since it launch until today, none of the youtuber test it on genting road yet...well, I mean to make it stand out from other's video. Sedan from Proton? Geely only shares SUV technology. Sedan, doesn't excite me a bit if their after sales service still that bad. Heard some owners got wait months to get parts. That is horrible when you consider x70 just launched 2 years ago.

@@pangpang7202 proton already trying settle parts waiting problem. Don't bring it to long. I think it is the service center problem because there is case that after the owner complain it to the higher management they solve it the next day. And proton management are currently really looking forward to improve their after sales service.

There are only new face-lift of Persona for sedan and a crossover-ish variant or some call it Active variant for Iriz next year. These two will be launch on Q1 of 2021.

@@nashrulaqil4365 yes hopefully. But somehow it surprised me. A national car, a china made car that sold 250k in China. But why there would be parts shortage? I was planning to get x70 until I read some comments on the parts. Not going to rush and buy 1 now. Will wait and see. Definitely crazy if Proton going to throw away all the glory they having now.

@@pangpang7202 true. But we need give they some time. They is still in a transition & this pandemic is not helping. It's only have been 2 years. I also hope they fix this problem faster because their future is bright but if they after sales not improve it will be a waste.
