This type of truck I saw used for hauling construction equipment and petroleum tankers.
Why the large fuel capacity for a local haul truck then? I'm doing the same thing with a 120 gallon tank on mine.

You don't always stay in town dude, who wants to be out of town hauling a big trailer and run out of fuel or have to fuel up all of the time.
