2020 KTM 390 Adventure Review | Worth The Wait! | BikeWale

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

In this video, Vikrant Singh rides the KTM 390 Adventure both on and off the road to tell you what this 390 Duke-based adventure motorcycle has to offer. So, would you consider buying this over the BMW G310GS, or the Royal Enfield Himalayan, which offers a bigger engine? Plus, the Hero Xpulse 200 is an accessible adventure bike too. Watch this video to find out more.

Nice and good review, well done! As you said in Europe we get fully adjustable suspension front and rear, but NO quickshifter. What is more usable/beneficial of the two. In EU it is possible to get quickshifter as an option, is it worth to buy?

Same here. There's no silly video effects. And not at all boring, because unlike most reviewers, he didn't list out the specs like reading from a brochure; only the details that matter are there. Only thing I'd change is the getting rid of the background music.

Great video. I'll also echo what someone else already said "Not overhyped". Too many videos about this bike, are just so over-the-top with their language and overly-dramatic music. I like yours much more. This is such an incredible bike. I rode an ADV-enhanced Suzuki DR650 through Mexico. In general, I loved riding the bike and it handled Mexico without any issues over any terrain. In basic specs, it's very similar to the KTM though being about 20lbs lighter and 3hp more. But this is a 390 vs a 650! And the electronics package is mind-blowing. The Suzuki hasn't changed since 1986. So the only electronics you have is the starter and lights! AND, the KTM is about $300 cheaper! You have to spend several thousand dollars to make a stock Suzuki DR650 really ADV-capable. With the KTM... Nothing really. Would love to see an 'R' version of the bike. I'm sure it's coming. I'm not going to bet the mileage rating is based on 70mph or 65mph with gear. So another gallon or two of gas. Spoked, tubeless rims. Higher end exhaust to give it another 10hp and drop 10 - 15lbs. Adjustable suspension would be nice. But it doesn't have to super-amazing. Just basic adjustment stuff. For maybe an extra $1500. That would be a damn fine, RTW motorcycle.

The electronics are pretty cool. Cornering abs and traction control is awesome. Drawbacks for me are: high maintenance schedule, the wrong wheels and tire size, lack of long flat seat, and wrong engine. The running gear that is identical to the RC390. An adventure bike must have low end grunt- this isn’t that bike.

Very well presented video. As a 390 Adventure owner I can concur with most things you said, but not sure if the engine noise is something i would say is very loud- but i might be slightly biased- even though unintentionally 😉. For what it’s worth, this bike feels and rides very very smooth and has plenty of get up and go, once you are in 2nd gear and up and are in the higher rpm range of say 4500 and beyond. Ride comfort is also very good compared to the 2016 duke 200 which I also ride. Obviously these are 2 totally different bikes in every aspect, for those who consider upgrading- I personally can highly recommend the 390 Adventure. Best value for money for what you get. Ride safe always 👍

Amazing how two companies can make such contrasting bikes. For offroading Xpulse is better bike. for long rides due to high speeds duke is. shock-absorbing in xpulse is best. low speed grunt in xpulse is amazing. shockers absorb all shocks in xpulse easily.

Like Karthik mentioned below, it's not a fair comparison. But we suggest buy the 390 Adventure if you have the budget. If you don't, the XPulse would satisfy most of the off-roading needs. It just doesn't do well on the highways.

Sachin sunny Himalayan has more usable low and mid range torque. And it can take more of a beating. The 390 feels lighter and more agile offroad. And it will be better on the road.
