214.56bhp @ 14,500rpm! Yes, really. Honda has scrapped the guidelines since the Fireblade's birth in '92 and gone all out with the 2020 model aka CBR1000RR-R SP making a fire-breathing monster of a track machine. Join BikeSocial's Michael Mann at the press launch in Qatar to find out all the details and to hear how it performs on the circuit.

OMG. Finally ....Did they finally listen. Honda H.O. Tokyo I thought couldn’t hear, read or acknowledge what was going on. Felt they will drag the old model until the cows come calling. When Honda puts it’s mind to something they can get it 100% right💫. What a beauty. Best designed bike ever. Power, balance, fit & finish absolutely unmatched. Thank god they didn’t shrink it further. Buy it even if you don’t ride it. Showcase it in your room, just to getup in the morning and have a look at this gorgeous piece of art. Honda designers and engineering did a phenomenal job. 👏. This entire team needs a raise. Brilliant & flawless execution. The king is back 👊. CBR1000rr-rsp. Good review. Keep it up.

People should try and get their heads around a piston and rod going up and down 242 times per second at 14,500rpm it’s mind boggling and that’s just the piston there is then the valves open and closing, movement of fuel and air in and out and finally spark ⚡️ Mechanically very close to its limits of physical object movement. But let’s face it, we don’t have roads good enough or speed limits to enjoy this machine as it’s meant to be enjoyed. Not fair on the public to have so much power available and can’t even begin to tap into the full capabilities of it. So for me great on a track only on the street it’s useless except for collecting tickets or an early funeral.

Sure, I get your point about sports bikes in the wrong hands but 214bhp is only relevant to those riding around at 14,500rpm. We're getting to the stage now with so many manufacturers claiming 200bhp+ that there ought to be another level of licence required to ride them!
