This guy is legit! He's very eloquent, detailed, and informative. No beating around the bush and those tiresome unnecessary spiels we normally see on car reviews. He caught my attention on Facebook and Subscribed here on KZread. He deserves it! I know his Channel caters to the Malaysian Market but would love to see a more regional approach targeting the whole Southeast Asian countries since he speaks English fluently. I'm here supporting regional talent. Much respect from the Philippines. Keep it up! You're doing the right thing! Oh by the way, i'll go for Mazda3! Personally, If i dont care for the price, I'd pick the Mazda 3. Simply beautiful, elegant and minimal. But brain would say go for the Civic because it provides more for the money. The altis is good choice in the middle if u want the comfort, reliability and not overkill design like the civic.

This guy seriously have good presentation skill. Smooth and super clear input.

My pick would be civic! I just love how reliable and durable the car is. The look? Sporty for a C segment with the price of rm140k and what a spacious cabin i can even carry comfortably with 4 passengers inside! For me, i will go with civic since im particular with the space. Disclaimer-mazda cx5 here :)

Had the new Mazda 3 hatchback as the loaned car during a recent car service, wow, was really impressed, how much improvement the new generation has over the previous generation. The handling, the noise insulation, the interior..... are really to my surprise. Used to hate Mazda 3 (previous generation), noisy, bumpy, can feel clear difference in driving experience as compared to its bigger sibblings( Mazda 6, CX9). But the new Mazda 3 totally changes my view. From a Mazda 6 and CX9 owner.

@@ruhanasyakirah I love the car so much, it resides smooth, and you don’t need to be afraid of driving it hard and rough. It drives in the rain like a gem. You can’t even tell it’s raining till your outside of the car. This car you pay what you get for and more. I have highest package witch was 165k in total including insurance and road tax. The gas consumption is a bit high if you like to drive fast. But if you take your time it can last a week easily. I almost bought a second one for my wifey.

Is the m3 worth the extra bang for buck in your opinion?

Personally the civic because it blends power and practicality together and it doesn't lose out too bad to the mazda in terms of looks ✌🏻

And yeah bought the civic back in 2017, tons of performance parts and modifications accessories available in the market, so it suits more the younger generation like me. So far happy with my choice. Those who want something different, mature design can always opt for mazda 3 and corolla.

@@WapCar I concur but that said here in Vietnam, the top specs for all cars presented here are similar in price. So the question is what car would you choose if prices were the same?

Among the three, i have to pick the civic, like u said, best bang for buck! I can carry people comfortably, everyone can fit a tonne of their own stuff, its fast, infotainment system good, for normal driving, dare i say can be exciting too. But if i have to choose between a class n mazda 3, i will definitely go for the 3 :)

If i have the money, my first pick would be the mazda since it's on point in terms of quality + design to eu cars, a really well built, minimalist car yet never loses it's sportiness when you want it to be. I've never liked the civic (ketam) since it's a bit too boy racer kinda vibes with the design, a bit too try hard maybe ? But never the less it was a good bang for your buck ! Toyota on the other hand, it isn't moving my soul since it's a bit to soft and probably designed for older people 🤷🏻‍♂️

I go for Civic although I still work harder get it

Got myself altis and never regret. No doubt civic performance is better but the looks itself has been there since 2016. Altis interior was a let down but i don't mind since the player is replaceable. Driving in kuching with altis is more than sufficient since i dont get to hit highway that often

Mazda 3 for me of course.

I’d go for the Mazda 3 ,then Corolla Altis,then Honda Civic...but they are all excellent compact sedans

Mazda 5-years free service Honda Civic TC-P 5-years maintenance cost - RM 3,389 Toyota Corolla Altis 3-Years maintenance cost - RM 2,868

Realibility is important. Hence Toyota for me. Civic is just too low but offers spacious room which is amazing. Mazda really beautiful but not sure if I would pay that kind of money for a two seater (is there even space at the back??)

Mazda 3 for me. The thinking man choice IMO. Polished styling, refined interior & more engaging driving experience. The overall car feel like next class but interior a bit cramped and the price also way above the rest. As for Civic, still reckon it is more all rounder pick for most people with slightly lesser cost, more spacious interior and the spec is still pretty competent now with Honda Sensing and yes VTEC turbo. Corolla is not the most exciting IMO and the spec even with TNGA, Safety Sense still got some glaring compromises (expected from Toyota) like the ridiculously small touchscreen HU and no Android Auto / Apple Carplay yet the price is somehow quite more expensive than equivalent 1.8 Civic, almost level with Civic Turbo lol. Also, 1.8 engine is a bit letdown in comparison to competition and even prev gen 2.0 ...

Yeap, Civic is still the best bang for your buck, but Mazda is a thing of desire

Even though Mazda 3 were considered as the same segment as Japanese build C-Segment, I would put it a level higher above all japanese build C-Segment cars because during the launch of Mazda 3 in Malaysia, Mazda Malaysia purposely put the previous model F30 BMW 3 series & mercedes C class as its competitors (in terms of its dashboard design qualities and handlings). Sadly Malaysia only gets a 2.0 N/A Skyactive G engine and not Skyactive X due to our fuel quality. And of course since Mazda 3 build qualities were on the par as BMW 3 series and Mercedes C-class, the price were almost the same as "previous D Segment of Mazda 6, Honda Accord & Toyota Camry." which the price were around 160K++. back to the value for money, nothing beats Honda Civic. but Honda build cars (sorry for this honest review) Cabin noise (sound proofing) were amongst the worst compared to Mazda 3 & Toyota Corolla.....why Honda...why?????

Civic is definetly a good car. It would be nicer if Honda Malaysia would be more responsive to their customer after sales service.

I really wish that car reviewers can include sound check from the car speakers (eventho listening through our speakers/headphones are not the best method), because it is really one of the most important criteria in choosing a daily car. The only thing that can make you happy when stucked in traffic jams are good quality speakers, not the performance of the car. Pity the Mazda 3 is not equipped with Bose.

@@samarts2149 you’re not wrong and I don’t mind doing that for my current car. But when it comes to buying a new car, i prefer that it comes with the car. I don’t mind the 3 series missing out on the Harman Kardon because the standard ones are easily good enough. But the top spec mazda 3 missing out on the Bose is quite disappointing (for me at least) because the standard speakers are mediocre.

for sure the NFL Honda Civic 1.5TC-P is the best options among this 3 model... yea, the Mazda3 looks fresh and so as the Corolla Altis... but its the Civic that offers best value with well complete package... I personally had the 2017 Civic 1.5TC-P in White Orchid Pearl... its simply fun and powerful with practicality, very good fuel economy and handsome looking car... and Just before the MCO started, my parents collected their all new 2020 Honda Accord 1.5TC-P which I should said... the best value D segment sedan in the market! so much better than the Camry 2,5L NA...

I'd choose the Altis over the Corolla, simply because I value how smooth and more comfortable Toyotas are. Not to mention that the new Altis is mighty beautiful, and is imported from Thailand, as opposed to the questionable quality of Civics from Honda's Melaka plant.

@ckk12588 Yes I can tell you still boring, basically TNGA and Sky Active platform are same thing just a different manufacturer and they calling different name, besides that only TNGA platform pair with old CVT gear box and powetrain is totally wont have Fun, yes fully agree very smooth driving but still boring. Interm most well balance manage in all perspective still is Mazda, build quality, latest technology, and most important is driving sensation.

Anything toyota is boring(except for toyota86(which is basically a subaru and supra which is basically a bmw z4).. why? Because toyota is always playing it safe.. haha.. boring engine, boring design and boring driving dynamics.. safety? Toyota might have all the newest bells and whistles but their safety features is not as reliable as others (mazdas and subarus).. please watch SUV mega comparison..

I had a chance to drive my sister’s pre-gen 2015 Mazda 3 2.5 while I was visiting her and her family last year in Australia, I must say, the power of a NA 184hp 2.5 in a C Segment sedan when you are driving alone is very much effortless driving experience of its class. I’m surprised with the handling of the Mazda 3 pre-gen even without GVC trim. For an enthusiastic mindset, my choice would still much prefer a Mazda 3 if I were to spend my money for either of this 3 cars, either a Black mid spec Sedan or Soul red full spec Hatchback. Say u want about Toyota’s reliability or Honda’s pricing, I would still prefer to buy a Mazda just because they are one of the last car makers to keep making cars that are meant for enthusiasts who love to drive. Unless Toyota offered a 2.0 Dynamic Force Corolla Hatchback here then it might start to move the market into a much more interesting direction.

Civic is my choice

Honda nowadays has a lot of complaints. Good at power but quality out... Fuel pump, air-condition n etc

I love Mazda 3. Certainly the best looking of the three. However, my choice would be Altis, simply because: 1-Toyota's reliability 2-New TNGA platform 3-Boot space is a bit bigger than Mazda3. 4-I know the default choice and the best of the lot would certainly go to Civic, but, well, it's not wrong trying to deviate away from others. Haha

Yes, if only it uses the 9-inch system with Apple CarPlay & Android auto as seen in the Avanza & Fortuner.

literally everywhere u go u can see a civic.... 20k extra for an interior as good as an european car brand interior or u could even say lexus worthy interior and that really beautiful exterior design, i'd say its worth it... better pick over the civic which only has slightly more power and rear passenger room compared to the mazda 3... the corolla is just out, it looks beautiful but this is the C segment, keep up or u become the last option.

My TC-P is only 27 months old. The Honda workshop told me my steering wheel is making some noise and have arranged for me to replace the steering rack at their expense.

The Civic also give you the infamous turbo engine with oil dilution problems.

Honda civic is the best choice, because affordable price with great performance and civic engine wow just nice with more horsepower less road tax price compare to mazda 3 and toyota corolla altis. Honda civic is the best and smart choice.

I will choose Mazda 3, Coz 6 speed automatic, class,simple,solid,beauty = Less is More. Most important only mazda have tail pipe is "twin"

I'd pick Civic no brainer. Altis is dated, you are nice to explain that way. I think it's targetted for older folks, maybe? Mazda is the most beautiful car..I think probably subjective. A turbo charged 1.5 CVT Civic, what else one want to fault on that? I think Honda has difficulty to come out another generation car that can surpass its own 10th gen Civic. This explains why the car has retain the same shell and engine from 2016-2020.

If budget is not a consideration, My choice will be Mazda 3 2.0 ... great looking and superior quality interior... But if budget is just around 120-140k for new car, I will pick Civic.. Altis is reliable and good quality.. but the Horsepower & torque... Eeerrrr...

I started of with a Vios 3rd Gen. Now Altis, y Altis. Cause i love the comfort and the design is beautiful. Honda is ok but i hate the back design. It kills the sedan look. Mazda, nv tought about it. I have a Putra 1.8 Dohc that could just smoke many performance car, Honda 1.5 Turbo is an easy win even at 3rd gear. And mine is N/A. So that was y i choose the Toyota, smooth and reliable. If speed i ll use my Putra.

Imo. Full lcd instrument cluster. Interior and exterior. Civic. Altis will be last choice because least attractive inside out. Engine powerwise, highway still 110km/h. So either one is sufficient.

Civic handling? Definitely not..during low speed it’s so good pliancy..but when high speed at karak hiway, even vios is better at cornering though it only sit on torsion beam~ that high speed i mean still within 110kmh territory u know...the casis flex like hell, no wonder they put extra strut at the back seat but now its gone oredy, better u install urself one..put other members too at undercarriage then u might catch the mazda 3 at he bend~..👌🏻🤣

For look I will prefer M3 For practicality, Civic Toyota still old engine, not sincere, No for Altis.

Mazda 3! That too, is my choice. Though you'll be paying extra, I think the interior and exterior are just notch higher than what competitors offer. Technology is no slouch either and the infotaiment interface refinement only shows how Mazda pay attention to detail. I am not really into CVT and I think it seals my choice. The Civic is one reliable car too, but the over the top creases and tail lights made me hold back. Looks is a subjective matter though. I am really dreaming and considering the Mazda 3 sedan as my future car. 🙏 View fr. Ph Btw

Yeap the civic has so many weird body lines that dont blend in together well, but it's like a bonia bag (civic) vs a gucci bag (mazda 3), the bonia can have lot of space for practicality good for day to day use and does a lot of things good enough, while the Gucci with simple touch of luxury or fine details, civic is like the one you need while the mazda is the one you want

Go with the mazda 3.. civic is not miles away in terms of performance.. but mazda 3 is light years better in interior quality less plastics and a very well designed cabin

The 3 definitely. Quality's at least a notch above the Civic and Corolla.

Corrolla is nicer than civic

Civic is well balanced in term of performance,spec,handling,comfort and price. No wonder why it is hot selling in local market

Civic for me!

I'm 27 but i still prefer the Toyota corolla simply because it has that modern/hybrid looks and with the new TNGA platform it's quite a fun car to drive around the corner even tho the engine is not the most powerful among the 3 but its not like I'm driving to ulu yam everyday 😅, & simply i feel there's too many Civic on the road its doesn't feel special anymore but hey it's just me the choice is yours.

Altis is a great choice if you're looking for the balance between comfort and handling 😃

My choice is Mazda 3 but I agree with you the price for mazda 3 is too expensive and ridiculous. But if compare interior design I love civic than both toyota & mazda.

Unfortunately we don't get the Corolla hatch in Malaysia

I have test drive three cars altis hatch top spec in Australia , mazda 3 and civic , the toyota cvt has really really bady gearbox for acceleration it was same like the campro waja i has driven before eveb in sport mode. Mazda is pricey. Honda civic has greater boot and rear leg room space for a family sedan

hurm... somehow, I dont find the Mazda3 looks nice... and yes, the Honda Civic are the most value for money... owned the Civic 1.5TC-P since 2017 even that time the Mazda3 2.0 cost almost the same as Civic 1.5TC-P but the previous Mazda3 really feel cramped at the back seats

Majority of comments mazda 3 vs Civic. Krikk kirkk for Altis. 😂 My choice is civic FL coz of the fuel consumption & performance. Also the price is much less than the mazda 3. If the price is around the same then it would be harder for me to choose.

If money doesn't matter I will go for mazda 3 But in real life my choice would be Choosing the Altis as i scared Honda build quality. Fyi i drive HRV ..it is a great car but the build quality not so good 🙄

@@gagasuan1 First, the problem i mentioned later i have to admit Mostly happened at the first few batch car as i heard newer batch have fewer problem(mine was 2015 May) Basically manu QC problem like gear indicator light, driver seat clip broken, gearbox leakage, extra noise coming from undercarriage and suspension system, driveshaft and others too much to mentioned.(fyi I leave my car at Service centre every time i service my car to do inspection lol) But honestly the car itself overall not bad and the car didn't broke and stop at the road side for 5 years but just the sound proof at the weak side. 👏🏽👏🏽
