So sad that they’re gone, as I was repowering I got wind that they might be going under, I wanted a newer 2 stroke & they’re the only ones still doing them. Hands down the most appealing outboard looks wise to ever hit the market.

Love my G2. too bad they are gone. You did not reach your max rpm. Either trim up or get another prop with the right pitch. Your max rpm should be close to 6k I thought. At least it is on my 200 hp. Enjoy that G2

why so important to reach 6000 RPM? when BRP says max HP is at 5000 RPM.

@@trygvegabrielsen8120 because if you make it to 6000 prm you have selected the the correct prop for your set up. If BRP says 5000 then fine

Try to reach max hp rpm better, not the max rpm limit ,from my experience...

Needs to go up 2 holes at least. Would stop the porpoising and you would be able to trim more without starting to porpoise. Would go 2 to 4 miles/h faster and give you +- 300 rpm more..... Before you start changing props get the engine height right. The ventilation plate should be out of the water at least on a fast cruise. Good luck 👍🏾

tryed one hole up when I first installed the engine, a lot of cavitation and overall bad performance. after testing different heights this one was the best. I have over 80 engine hours now and I must say that I'm very satisfyed with the overall performance. I see a lot of comments here regarding the top rpm, and the staff at the shop where I bought the motor says the e-tec performs best if it can "run heavy". The speed is there, but at a lower rpm, I don't think I will get any more speed with changing prop, cuz I tryed :)

i would just get a transom lift and that would give you some set back like a see saw keep your center of gravity near the pad

Nah, keep it a 2strokes, the only reason why they disappear is the reputation of carby 2atroke while this evinrude was better than every other outboard

If i understand you correctly you are talking about the trim and tilt cylinders? There are two cylinders for trim and one for tilt. The single one are for tilting the motor all the way up.

At idle all the exhaust comes out over the waterline, just under where the water control flow comes out.

You never got up to 5500 rpm WOT either raise your motor or a smaller pitch prop .

its fine the rev limiter is 6000, but it could do with a lower pitch prop.
