My C6 returns fine economy on the freeway, about 30 MPG. And it's 13 years old!

My C7 Z51 M7 has gotten as high as 33 during highway cruising, but 28-31 is average on long trips. Pretty impressive given the power to weight ratio of these cars.

Damn that's phenomenal. Even better than previous vettes I think. I appreciate that you drove at 70 plus mph. Driven even more conservatively and with some hypermiling techniques it would probably approach 33-35 mpg!

I bought my C5Z in Los Angeles (400 miles away). I topped off in L.A. and made it all the way home on one tank, with my average speed about 75. At the gas station it took just under 14 gallons putting my MPG at a bit over 30. I was shocked.

Definitely want this car it’s a great way for entry to super cars

Bad habit to top off your tank. On some cars that can block the vent tube and cause vapor lock .

You are the second KZreadr to perform such a test that I've watched. Your results are pretty much a mirror image of the other guy's similar test. So, you have basically validated each others results. Pretty amazing HWY MPG considering the performance which is available when you want it. That said, for those of us who never ever use cruise control the MPG will likely be less on a similar drive. Probably closer to the EPA HWY rating.

The car doesn’t have cruise control which doesn’t make sense. It would be easier to get better highway mileage if it did.

@@sheneedsme Where did you get that information? As far as I am aware the C8 does indeed have Crusie Control. It doesn't have distance-following (sometimes called "intelligent") Cruise Control but, it has basic Cruise Control. That said, 99.9% of Corvette buyers wouldn't give a damn if it didn't have Cruise Control at all. I am one of them.

@@aclosson8193 You are right, it doesn’t have adaptive cruise control but it does have regular cruise control. I got the convertible so the trunk space would be available with the top down for longer freeway trips when cruise control would be used more. My wife likes to drive and she uses her adaptive cruise control every day on her Land Rover so it matters more to her.

Speed Phenom said he got as high as 35 mpg. My 2006 4cyl Accord was making 32 and I was thrilled. To get that in a Vette is ........

The C8 speedo is amazingly accurate,👍 To compare factory claimed mpg to reality usually difficult as they'd have everything optimised such as tyre pressure, wind direction, weather condition, overall weight perhaps base option spec, etc.however your test still very accurate👍 about fuel , i m amazed how cheap fuel is in US, as i m based in UK our shell fuel are 95 ron standard, and 99 ron Vpower , but our fuel price are more than double of the cost for Vpower£1.25-1.30 (usd 1.64-1.70) , if a C8 run in europe, use our fuel, can simply remap (ignition advanced ) to match our fuel octane.. i can see some power gain from oem instantly, without any mod.👍👍 However i enjoyed watched your review,cheers👍

6:35 The car's speedometer is usually overestimating your speed by about 0.5-1 MPH Car & Driver used to add the shown and actual speed in their reviews and tests

The color on that car makes it look even cooler. That is 100% the color I would get...

Very good for a car with an engine like that, with that kind of performance, and no ridiculous hypermiling bs. I managed to get my Jaguar XFR up to 28 mpg on a long drive through Texas which I thought was great too, given the weight of the Jag and that it's not the most modern V8 in that car.

Even in my 2000 c5 I will get about 30mpg on the freeway, but it also depends on the traffic, I get 18 to 20 in city depending on traffic GREAT JOB 👍c8 are so beautiful

The 2020 C8 Corvette gets an amazing 31 miles per gallon in highway driving. That is very close to the highway fuel mileage that I get with a lot less powerful 2011 BMW 328i that has a 3.0 liter straight six engine that I drive.

I thought I would wait until gas was $4.56 a gallon before I bought mine, LOL Great video....

Yo can u expedite the bose sound system test. I’ve been waiting to here this sound system since the day it came out. Weirdest setup sound system I have ever seen but also one of the most impressive. 10 inch woofers in each door he has ether couldn’t fit a sub in the small cabin. Crazy system

The C7 has 10” in the doors and a small 8” sub in the back. It’s a crappy system, the Bose auto EQ over boosts bass at low volume and cuts bass at high volume. Easy to measure and see with an RTA.

I want to see a dodge hellcat fuel economy test on your channel. Is that possible?

The shadow grey seems to have green in it.

Cfm flow at low lift makes engines really efficient barely tap the throttle and the engine can breath….I can only imagine what someone could do with a turbo and tuning keeping mpg in mindset

No fuel cap? I like the paint color. But if it was me I would get silver.

Not long enough run. Few ounces of extra fuel at refill verses first fill up , causes mileage to drop by 2-3mpg. I am betting the electronic vehicle readout is the accurate number. Question: This Corvette V8 have cylinder deactivation like Z06/ZL1/Tahoe/1500? It should. That system works great. Adds bunch of MPG.

I had a gm technician tell me to avoid v-4 mode, I think if you keep it in track or sport mode it hits on all 8 all the time, I am still waiting delivery, so I am not totally familiar with the v-4 mode, I was not thinking fuel economy when I decided to buy, good luck with your non Z-51 car and channel

so the doors don't let you open them easy, but the frunk opens without warning

HVAC set on Auto, 73 degrees Fahrenheit, and yes we used cruise control.

which fuel is that is it gas or liquid(petrol or diesel)?

Have you ever done a mpg test at the recommended 45mph speed? I guess you would have to find a long back road to accomplish this.. I would think it would get close to 40mpg. For a Stingray that is awesome!

Cars typically get max mpg around 50-60 mph. 40 is way too low

@@aaaaaaxaaaaaa I can get 26.6 mpg on my truck @ 45 mph up the highway here in West Texas. But at 60 I go down to 19.1. And at 75 mph I go down to 17.6 mpg. At 85 mph I go down to 14.8 mpg. But then again I am pushing way more weight and I'm less aerodynamic than a Corvette. But it is a fun test.

Whatever the top gear allows - it was doing like 1500 rpm at 70 so 45 might be just about do-able without down shifting, in which case it might be more efficient to go slightly faster.

can you do C7 Corvette?

I’d like to see same test without allowing 4 cylinder mode. I never run 4 cylinder mode in my C7 2018 Stingray and won’t in C8 when I get one

It was not equipped with adaptive cruise. However, we try not to use it in these tests anyway in order to maintain a steady speed.

@@aircraftsandtrains2309 The service teck at Palm Chevrolet told me the computer don't lie. I set that record on I 75 in Tenn. It's shows up on the computer info. The speed was about 68 mph and it was locked down on cruise control. Any speed variations were done with the cruise control.The motor was in 4cyl mode.

Cancelled my 2020. Bought a King Ranch. 2021 Corvette if they redo the option choices and keep prices close to same.

My mpg so far 14 to 16 mpg.. daily driving

Im guessing 31 or 32 mpg

While 30 mpg is nothing to sneeze at I for one think it should have done better, considering v4 mode light weight and aerodynamics. It is 1 mpg better than my supercharged 6.1 2010 6 speed manual Challenger SRT8 that is v8 mode all the time, weighs in at 4600 lbs and on 12 lbs of boost makes 560 to 570 hp at the wheels. Let's not even talk about the aerodynamics advantage or 10 years of advancements in engineering for the plastic car.

Really hard to believe that there are people out there that argue over shit that is incorrect. When all the person has to do to get the story straight is to watch the whole video and be able to comprehend it. Instead they just want to keep arguing even when they are clearly wrong. Does this sound like someone John. Watch the video again so that you might see the error in your ways.

You gotta test it from the average of 3 fillups from empty to get an accurate reading,. So you'll need a few weeks.

The steering wheel alone is reason enough for me to not buy one of these. But I'd still rather have one of these in any foreign car

GPS is not the most accurate for speed I'd trust the car more then a GPS
