I'm a politics and contemporary history student (aka. very modern, usually 1900s onward) and we are already studying parts of this, like how the government in the UK has maintained control and the prime minister hasn't been sacked yet, whether Trump could win lawsuits he's launched against certain states due to the vote counting back in November and how legal this is, the consequences of the death and replacement of Ruth Bader Ginsburg...lots of stuff. It is so pertinent and this year has had so many huge events that we can't wait to study it - we study it now.

@@rayaeparker8973 that dig at Boris Johnson is disrespectful. The man had the balls to take a shitty situation and stand firm. Then he got hit by a pandemic unbeknown to our generation pulling out the first vaccinations in the world, keeping furlough going and evicitions from happening. People point at the death toll failing to realise how vulnerable our population was, being an ageing population. They fail to consider the shortcomings from the WHO, entitled idiots failing to abide covid regulations and guideliens and the conflict between professionals in many fields that flung us into uncertainty economically and in public health. All the while the man pulled through doing his job to the best of his ability. I dont even have to support him to respect him as a prime minister. Similarly, I'd give just as much praise to Nicola Sturgeon. Despite her threatening and persisting demeanor on scottish independence she pulled scotland through the pandemic and continues to do so, considering our liberties as well as our health. Both of them should be respected for this and the shade you're throwing at Boris for seemingly no reason outwith your personal politics is genuinely disrespectful.

@@OnlyGrafting covid cases rose substantially after the Eat Out To Help Out scheme and the government has repeatedly ignored advice from top qualified scientists calling for circuit breaker lockdowns and the closure of schools and universities - by the time we had the second national lockdown, cases were extremely high and we could have taken better control of the R number if we had gone into lockdown when the scientists said we should. The government make u turn after u turn at the last minute and by then it's too late (for example the A Level grade U turn was too late and meant many young people had their offers withdrawn cruelly from them). Yes people have been flouting the covid rules - and it boils my blood beyond belief the selfishness of those individuals - but when Cummings went to Durham with symptoms for childcare whilst other parents with COVID in desperate need of care for their children were threatened with the law, Johnson failed to take action and hold his own government and ministers to account for their actions. The complete ignorance of the advice of top scientists has left us with an out of control THIRD wave of coronavirus infections and an overwhelmed NHS which cannot cope with new covid infections, the previous backlog of cancelled procedures and the rest of the pressures they face every year in winter already. Johnson repeatedly ignored the top advice and only "follows the science" when it suits him
It's weird there are children born after 9/11 that will never know what it was like and there will be young people born after the pandemic that will have no idea what it was like either.

People on the internet have literally been declaring "this is the worst year ever" since the year 2014, heck maybe even the year 2013..., and they have not stop declaring that for every year since then lol. They never learn or change lol. Kinda tired of this. People been blaming bad times on whatever arbitrary year it is, then praying for the end of the year like everything will be better on January 1st like its magic. Shit is gonna suck till we actually work to fix it. And I know it's all a joke but it's getting people in the habit of doing nothing and waiting for the year to end like it's going to fix problems.

I’m a nurse and 2020 has been such a year I can’t comprehend. It’s so discouraging having people mock our profession by clapping at 7 pm but not wearing masks outside, watching people die every single day. We get no help, no mental assistance. Clap for healthcare heroes but they laugh in our faces and fellow nurses refuse the vaccine. This year has put so many of us in such a low mental place it’s hard to comprehend and we’re begging for help and nobody is giving it to us.

Although 2020 will be remembered as a year full of challenges, both global and personal, it also gave people time to reflect and think about what is most important to our lives. In rediscovering these personal values, we've learned to cherish every precious moment we have with family and friends, and to believe in our inner strength and ability to tackle life's challenges head on.

Back in April 2020, the stress and anxiety hit hard. I never stopped working as a bank clerk. I said to myself "at least for now my job is secured". I just had to endure the daily grind, the fear of the future. My wife got pregnant that month. We've been trying for months. First we were afraid of what would be like during the pregnancy. Would I infect my wife? Would she herself get infected? Could I be present to witness the birth? We decided to become mentally strong, strive, to think that besides all this crazy times at least something/someone would bring happiness. September 24th my wife lost amniotic fluid. Next day the termination/abortion was scheduled for the 29th. It was a baby girl 6 months old, my first child. Gone. 2020 was, always will be a nightmare of a year.
