Hey everyone thanks for watching. I don't normally leave a comment like this but it has to be said that within 24 hours, everything you see here was driven (about 6 hours of driving in total), filmed and edited (and that includes 4 connecting flights to and from Toronto). So yes, at 2 in the morning I woke my dog up with David Attenborough impressions. But massive hats off to Thomas for getting it all edited and produced in that tiny amount of time. Well guess what guys? I just today purchased a 2019 Jetta GLI 35th in Pure Grey very much with help of your wonderful review. After already leasing a 2019 Jetta S with 6 speed manual for the passed year I was ready for some more fun in my life. Handing down the year old Jetta to my older son so we can be Jetta buddies, lol! Loving her so far of course and looking forward to updating everyone on my long term ownership experience.

After 3 cars with cvt shite I bought a gli edition 30 6 speed and it's music to my ears that the manual is here to stay!

That intro haha. If you're looking for a VW, the Jetta usually has some ricidulous lease deals. I would go with the gti or the jetta gli with the manual transmission. 6 speed ftw!

I have the GLI 35th 7 spd DSG such a great car

I've owned a 2019 35th Canadian GLI for over three years now and happy to report no issues and still a lot of fun to drive.

What an intro🤣😂 Amazing review guys!You guys deserve your own Netflix or HBO series. Or even Apple TV series! Something! You guys are awesome!👏🏻

The fact that Hyundai and Honda have their sport cars ONLY come in manual and petrol shows they are much more focused on petrolheads than VW. VW is for people who have a love affair with diesel..

Indeed, and they are by far the most confortable entry car out there lol! Like legit you can ride for 4hours and not have a butt pain or back pain as compared To other cars!

Intro's hilarious! For my everyday, I'd pick the GTI. I still have my 2008 Mark V. 207,000+ miles. I've driven it twice in the winding roads of the Smoky Mountains. Thanks, Guys!

Honestly this was a really impressive car for the money

That intro tho! A very handsome sedan indeed. A German engineered sports sedan with styling and a bit of punch can appeal to a younger exec who needs to take the clients to a pub, or an older fan who likes "Das auto" for the confidence inspiring handling and ride comfort that they deserve at a price that is really friendly. VW has not let us down with this sedan that you can row into 3 gear and step on it as you zip through any "Hipster Crossings" hahah. Great review again that was well worth waiting for gentlemen !

I took my Jetta SEL on the Coronado Trail in AZ the other day and was surprised at how well it handled! Even though it wasn't a GLI it still felt very confident and fun

I love the intro to this video! You guys are awesome and I appreciate your affinity for manual transmissions. While I am not a track enthusiast I do enjoy enjoy highway on ramps in my 2002 WRX wagon. I may need to make the pilgrimage to Tennessee before I drive my bug-eye into the ground. One question though: Is the Jetta GLI a better sports sedan than the Accord Sport 2.0T? I have both the gli autobahn and the arteon sel premium r line. Both fantastic cars but I can’t help to smile more when driving the gli. It’s so much fun you can help to smile when you downshift and send it around corners

I had a 1985 Jetta GLI and loved mine. Tossing it through the twisties and going airborne always put a smile on my face.

So im getting the 2021 GLI volcanic red Fully loaded with the black wheels and i had so much fun driving it! cant wait to received it this week!

I'm new to your channel, and super hooked. I know it's a bit old of a video, but I had to comment on this. I drove the Tail in my '08 GTI a few years ago, and it was a blast. I hope to drive the Tail again in my "new" stage 3 '06 GTI someday soon. I'd waste so much money on gas if I lived anywhere near that road.

i have a GLI with the DSG and paddle shifters and it’s literally just a manual transmission short of perfect. 100% the best car i’ve ever driven.

Wanted to add.. I'd go with the GTI too, but glad they're keeping the sedan and the manual around. I'm a former MK5 owner and fell in love with VW and that car. Bought my mom a 2016 Jetta.. shes been converted too. Fit and finish, and general performance for these cars is amazing for the price. That front diff is magic. I appreciate VW's subtle improvements to these cars over the years.. but I'm not a fan of that newer front grill. They should perhaps just sell these with the type R front end.

Loved the review, and yes especially the intro! I'd be all over the S/35th anniversary, except that VW reserved Sirius for the Autobahn trim, and that's a non-negotiable for me. But definitely the manual. They are popping up on the lots in the US now, and lots are manuals. I may have to thank them with my cash!

I gave a thumbs up right after the intro. That was awesome.

I had the Mark 7 GTI, great car. I would choose the GLI due to the fact that I have a kid now and need more trunk space with the seats up. Great review.

I’ve done several trips to the Dragon on my sport-touring motorcycle. Would love to hit it someday in my ND Miata, though if I do I’m sure I’ll wish it was a Club and not a GT. Anyway, the guys are right. If you’re an enthusiast, you must get to the Tail of the Dragon at least once in your life. Though it’s 600+ miles away for me, the trip is worth it every time.

I wish VW would make an AWD GLI with like 275-300hp. Would be so fun. But that would take away too many sales from Audi I’m sure.
