I love how surprised you were by this car lol! One other thing to mention is that Consumers Reports gives this beauty a 98 rating. I haven’t seen Any other cars with that high a rating! I’m buying my limited this weekend. Great Job!

I myself drive a Camry. Nice car too. But the Avalon is what I’m eyeing on in the future. Very classy and elegant car indeed. My dream car.

It's so funny how people here seem to really like the Avalon. When I test drove it I expected a big, heavy, awkward car, and it was none of those things. It felt "bigger" but not huge; it felt solid but not stogy; it felt....well strangely a bit fun to drive. Can I actually say that and not get put in assisted living?

it's not a very good value. It's simply not much bigger than a Camry (~7%), but it's 125% the price. Plus it's heavier, but with the same HP, so it will end up being a slower car. At $45k this Avalon costs, you could get a 3 series or a C class, which are both more exciting cars to drive and with more prestige.

wincrasher2007 but you’re leaving out the most important part....those cars you mentioned will be endless money pits! Sure they handle great and are faster but what good is that when something always breaks?! Maybe leasing one is cool but thats it cause once that warranty is up watch out.

UPDATE AS OF May 1st 2023. I finally got me a 2016 Toyota Avalon Limited for a good price. The Avalon is exactly what I wanted and the way it drives is fantastic. The 2019 to 2022 Avalon’s price still little high for me. But a 2016 Toyota Avalon Limited will do just fine for me…

Purchased mine two days ago and boy is she beautiful. Parisian Night Pearl Limited with cognac interior.

Congratulations! That's the paint color and interior that I have been thinking about.

I just ordered the 2021 Avalon Touring with a TRD package Midnight Black Metallic on Black/Cognac Softex Leather and the Touring has a special tube called intake sound generator in the engine compartment for an enhanced engine sound that’s put through the speakers within the cabin by using three mics and also it has a noise canceling which is called active noise control. I absolutely cannot wait to get my Avalon! Right now the dealer has put me in a 19 celestial silver and beige leather Avalon Limited for the time being until my avalon arrives.

Outstanding review...well done! You have helped me with the decision to buy an Avalon Limited. ..SOLD!!!

I have to say I enjoyed your review, I really got a kick out of the driving portion and your reference to the old Toyota commercial with granny lol. The interior is sharp! the square center stack looks a bit Atari/80's to me but I don't hate it.. Toyota is on a roll lately with some of their designs, I look forward to seeing what the future holds. Great review, I admire your efforts and the fact that you go out of your way to be thorough and concise. keep up the good work!

REALLY!,,,,,,,,,,,,,love the car, I have a 2011 Avalon I bought in 2010, with 58 thousand, love the car, on this car as of June 2nd 2019, all factor maintain too at the dealership ,,,,,,,well the grill on this 2019, I mean ouch! ,,,,,,,,,,I mean if NOT for the grill, I might sell mine. LOVE the 8 speed, so smart. Very good presentation. Thank you! I'm pretty sure my back seating area is bigger. I have so much room in mine. I mean it's like a limo in my back seat. My mom LOVES the back seat of my 2011 Avalon.

I just drove one of these today. It is a very, very nice car. Classy and sophisticated. The only thing missing I thought, was a factory remote start. Not a huge deal, but it would be the finishing touch. Otherwise, I was VERY impressed with it.

Hit the lock button 3 times and hold on the 3rd time. That'll start the car via the remote. Hope this helps.

Remote start...hit the lock button twice and then hit it again and hold it down until the lights start flashing. Release the lock button and the car will start within 45 seconds

No more auto rain sensing wipers, no rear window shade, no cover on rear center arm rest, But a lot of extras that make up for what is really an excellent car. I have only had the 2018 limited for a few months but probably will trade up soon!!

There are actually rain-sensing windshield wipers still.

We LOVE our V6 2019 Avalon Limited with Cognac leather and tinted windows.

IIHS TSP+ and Consumer Reports Top 10 (the Hybrid)...this car is on my short list...

Toyota seems to have stepped it up with the Avalon. It's beautiful, probably powerful, comfortable, safe. With that, this car has traditionally been targeted to an older demographic; it's probably not wise to condescend to this product's established base. Older customers are still likely to be those flocking to the Avalon, especially given that car sales seem to be stalling.

@@rrrrbills6240 everyone is targeting millenials now. they are a group with huge numbers - now dwarfing the boomers, who are now declining in their car buying. Problem is, most millenials don't have money to be buying $45k Toyotas.

In SAUDI ARABIA the top trim called Premium and comes without 360 camera (just has rear camera) or heating steering wheel unfortunately . Its price around 44K $ with 5% VAT included .

Excellent comprehensive review. I like your reviewing style and commentary. I really like this car. I hope that some readers can talk me off the roof about AWD. I am so hung up on a car having AWD. I know, I know, good snow tires are as important as AWD, but I live in the Northeast, and you haven't been truly scared if you haven't been spinning around on a highway in a car with no traction. Good grief! Bern, what's your take on AWD? If I can get past this then I should be ready to make a decision between the Mazda 6 Signature and the Avalon. Thanks, guys.

Somebody on youtube has predicted that the TRD version will be a dud-- will never sell because of the price differential, and the features no Avalon or Camry buyer will want to pay for, so I am not sure, but Mark I get what you are thinking....

Great video! Wish Toyota Canada had a hybrid version of this! I prefer the rims of the XSE vs the limited.

Ok.. My whole thing as a Mom is trunk space and Backseat leg room... This car has it both and you did not showcase that at all..

Mixed review. Great content and attention to detail. Too much camera movement . Overall a B with great potential in my opinion. I would really like to see you do more reviews with an eye on improvement. Alex is probably the best reviewer to emulate that I have found. Good luck.
