2019 Shimano Stradic FL IS HERE! Up Close - A FULL REVIEW comparing the new and old is LINKED BELOW

FULL REVIEW AND STRADIC FL AND FK COMPARISON HERE • 2019 Shimano Stradic F...
Check out the NEW Shimano Stradic FL. Available here bit.ly/2019ShimanoStradicFL
Shimano took a ton of Stella technology and brought it down to the $200 price point.
There is a noticeable bump in refinement over the Stradic FK with the added bonus of the long cast spool, a modular line roller bearing, and X protect water resistance at the antireverse clutch.
Comparing it to the Tatula LT and Ballistic LT 2500. Capacity is 100% identical. And the Stradic FL weights 1.5 ounces more. Some of that weight is in the hanle. But most can be found in the aluminum frame.
The question then is....When is the new Stradic Ci4+ going to come out.
Available here now bit.ly/StradicFL

    Thank you to all those who showed up when ya received the notification!!!!! Much appreciated! If ya heard me whine a few weeks ago in the community tab about youtube not pushing my video out to people...This time they did. The same amount of notifications went out.....and the same percentage showed....But this time they put the thumbnail in front of 10x the amount of people (who then clicked on the video at the same exact rate) Over 1000 views the first hour compared to 200 on videos past.....Strange how youtube works..... :)

    Hey man...can you do me a flavor....2 things...have you ordered and received the reel from that listing? If not. Please remove that link. I don't want to remove your post as you put a good amount of thought and effort into it. But I don't want people getting taken.....Ali is reputable but there are bogus listings or listings that claim ship dates that don't meet them by months. Thanks man. I know you're just trying to help.

    Tackle Advisors - that’s awesome, having a girl (or any support system) that allows you pursue your passions is amazing. I’m only 23 so I’m hoping that by the time I finish dental school I’ll be able to afford to do more of what I enjoy and follow my passions. Unfortunately I haven’t found a girl that has the same vision as mine but I’m sure I will eventually, or maybe I’ll just keep collecting Australian Shepherds 😆. Wasn’t tryna insinuate that you’ve rolling in it, I know YT hasn’t been very lucrative for creators and infact they’ve been cutting back on the $$ while increasing the workload/stress so even bigger props for doing what you do. 🤙🏻

    After more than 10 days of nonstop fishing with stradic fl 5000 xg , i can say honestly this reel is just a big win for anyone who is looking for light setup , used with crony sea cliff 9' rod @30lb shimano tanatura braided line n landed countless of different species , three things noticed cranking power for such small reel , better casting n won't flex under relatively heavy tension . Great reel shimano but please watch out for ur qc dept. paint work blemish n better handle play back tolarence ,still very minor tho.

    I like that they offer the 2 gear ratios in this size in the states........But yeah...until the stradic ci4 comes out....the tatula and ballistic would likely fish better due to the ounce and a half savings in weight.....I have em all from the exist certate fuego ballistic tatula etc in this size......I gotta say though...The stock knob on the stradic feels nicer...and I like the drag knob and tall spool of the stradic......but the weight difference is noticeable on my steez ags 7'6

    Veronica Fanquist I have neck and shoulder issues so light weight is key but also performance. I can put 4lb test on a Daiwa exceler one day and put 30 lb test on the next and still have the same performance. (Seriously, I’ve done it) I’m a multi species fisherman so I don’t usually go for specialty styled reels and gear. I want something I can fish for carp one day, bluegill the next, and pull in a bull redfish a week later and 22lbs of drag does it just fine at a killer price point especially when it was on sale a few months back

Question - I have stradic ci4 1000fb on my ultra light rod. which size for double handle will you recommend for very slow and steady retrieve? 38 or 45mm? also yumeya have 10 and 14 models (yumeya 10 stella mg and yumeya 14 stella mg) They are both available in 38 and 45 . do you know the difference? It's been really hard to find much info on this handle. Thanks again.

    @@Kaptainrdean You're right. But what about magseal bearings when they're done? You're kinda forced to get the Daiwa ones, as far as I know. Also servicing with the fluid is a massive complication in my opinion. More difficult, more time consuming, availability issues... If it was the ticket to never or hardly ever servicing magsealed parts/areas again I'd be all for it, but it's not. Don't get me wrong I have 3 Daiwa BC's (as well as Shimano's and other brands) at home, not a fanboy. But Magseal ist just the single most annoying feature ever in my opinion. Similar to a stupid 1pc line roller + line roller bearing assembly of many recent smaller Shimano spinners.

    Felix Lux You have me in regards to replacing the bearings, which fortunately I have not needed to do, yet! Yes, I've no doubt they are expensive and have you cornered in that department, since it's already quite well known that they're all weird sizes. I invested in all daiwa magsealed reals when upgrading from my previous reels I carefully maintained for 10 years and yes, they are more time consuming, but because that's what I have and they are all very similar, I guess I've accepted it for what it is and become fairly efficient servicing them. I have bg mags, ballistics and a theory btw, so nothing even slightly old, other than a prototype theory, which got me sold on the magseal thing in the first place. I had trouble with shimano bearings about 12 years ago and never went back, but have always taken an interest in the stradics from afar, 😁 hence why I'm here!

    They just can't seem to make up their minds on those aluminium spool shafts... First found on smaller Stella's then much later on Stradic Ci4 F's and then disappeared off that line to the FA going back to stainless Steel, then reappeared in the FB to Aluminium... Now its found on the Stradic general line... Not sure how that's going to work in comparison to how they're treated usually for their price range. The non folding handle - hmm going to be hard to store that now - I typically just unwound it to a point folded it in and put a hair tie around it to immobilise it when stored on the rod in transit or in its protective bag - now it's either on or off... See how many more stripped handle gear threads will come of it? While on price... They're $339 (1000) ~ $389 (5000) here in Australia... You guys have it pretty good I reckon! They'll see lots of online trade for the low gear ratio reels!

  • @TackleAdvisors

    @TackleAdvisors

    5 жыл бұрын

    I found it interesting...which is why it sorta stood out..also the differnt color rubber seal....wondering if it's a different durameter rating.....same color as the penn seal at the pinion traverse.......I think the handle thing is hit or miss....Not a big plus...but I'd take that in trade for something else they included for the $$. Assuming it was cheaper to mfr in one piece.....What did the FK sell for over there? As long as gear ratios count as different non market specific variants I assume it'll fly.....they sold out on ebay. Or shimano put the kabosh on it.

  • @Slazmoservicing4209

    @Slazmoservicing4209

    It's hard to say what the seals are like without seeing one, but if they're anything like (hard & ill fitting) seals on the FK AR seal - let's really hope not... The seals should be more supple and finer contact lips for contact against the mating surface if they want them to actually work... Like the FE Stella AR top seal etc... These seals should be replaced in time but is well worth it imho. The handle - let's go with less parts, less cost and less warranty with the folding design... But I can see people stripping the inner of the main gear as it'll become a more on & off design. But ultimately a stronger handle connection and positive feel while in use - as no extra parts or play. The FK sold stably here at around $230 / $250 after the initial price came down normally ($330'ish), and recently you can pick them up for around $190 on run out naturally - I think they may even come down lower than that... We're only seeing the HG variations here in Aus (going by schematics & online lists), there is a huge market for the 5.#:1 ratios and for people like myself who prefer low ratios - but typically we'll follow the US trends even if our fishing styles are totally different - I guess why people are holding onto old reels due to being forced to use something they don't agree or are happy with... I mean look at all the MM gears that are going / wearing out now /compared to the old clunky cut gear's which lasted decades - it has me pretty worried about the longevity of these new reels and the availability of gear sets into the future...

  • @TackleAdvisors

    @TackleAdvisors

    5 жыл бұрын

    As far as I can tell the mm gears in the spinners are found in the idlers than run the oscillation... Not too much load there and they seem to wear gracefully. The main gear set even if they added a dozen teeth should still manage adequate geometry to last. And it's the inherent design of a baitcasters drag putting all the force on the gear teeth where as with spinners it all stops with the clutch. The shimano handle threading is the most 300 lb gorilla friendly in the business.. Van Staal and Daiwa are more easily damaged. I'd bet that would be a small fraction of the repairs that shimano service sees

    The search for a well sealed spinning reel that's lightweight, dunkable for more than 30 seconds, and around $200 continues. Ballistic is just a hair over $200 but the mag seals are still an issue when servicing is concerned. Looking forward to your comparison between this and a few other reels in this price range. I mean I get why this one isn't as well sealed as say a Spheros, because then why would you pay more for a heavier equally-sealed reel. But maybe if the sealing was on par with the Spheros, but the gearing was a tad weaker, then maybe that could justify the price difference.
