2019 Motorcycle Camping Gear Loadout - Street Triple R | SW-Motech

For the 2019 motorcycle camping season, I will be testing out hammock camping for the first time in my many camping adventures. I've also slimmed down my camping gear list for 2019 and hope to slim down some more after this season. Also, this will be the first time I get to take my 2015 Street Triple R on camping trips. I'm also using SW-Motech bags this season since I can't seem to fit more gear with my current Kriega set up on the STR. I'm hoping SW-Motech won't disappoint me. I hope you enjoy this video and leave any questions in the comment section below and I will try to get to them as soon as possible.
Luggage List:
SW-Motech Blaze Saddlebags
SW-Motech Rearbag Tailbag
SW-Motech Daypack Tankbag

    Voto, You provided a VERY impressive breakdown of the excellent bags and thoughtful in depth details including weight, contents etc. Was not expecting such quality viewing. I had your same bike some years back and your rig looks amazing and the bags are perfect on it. Well balanced, great looking bit of kit. You have a good eye and seem very organized..you must be an engineer! LOL. Oh...well, there was the backward tail bag..but hey, no one's perfect ;-) Thanks for the vid. Sub'd.

    LOL. Thank you so much!! I appreciate your kind words! Yes, I can be a bit detailed oriented, but surprisingly, I'm not an engineer. Although, that's not the first time someone has mentioned that to me. Have a good day and thanks for stopping by!

    Whats on that games shelf I spy in the background? Nice video mister... I am looking into getting a bike, and part of the decision for which bike, is available luggage options, so that I can take it on some trips... If you ever want to go on a decently long trip... there's always a stop at a laundromat to wash clothes while you eat a meal, and there's always showers available at truckstops along the freeway... Ride safe....subbed...

    From what I can tell, there is Viticulture, Gloomhaven, Agricola and Spirit Island. That's all I can tell anyways. I've moved since, so I have the games stored away for now. Thanks for stopping by! Thanks for the tips on truck stops and laundromat!!

    How'd you like hammock camping, I have a warbonnet black bird. and love the hammock best way to camp and easy to carry in Saddlebags. Liked your video very helpful. where do you put your food and change of clothes?

  • @VotoCycling

    Hi there. I love hammock camping way more than any other camping I've done. Even more than RV trailer camping. Once the setup is done properly, it's so warm on a Spring/Summer night with the stars right above is the most amazing experience ever. My change of clothes are in a small bag in the tail bag of the bike. Food is also on the top mesh pocket of the tail bag. This was only for one night so not much to pack. It's a working progress for next camping season.

    do you offset the weight left to right on the saddle bags to account for the exhaust on one side? probably not much of an issue on a street triple though.

  • @VotoCycling

    @VotoCycling

    5 жыл бұрын

    I hadn't thought of accounting for the weight of the exhaust. But so far, I haven't noticed a considerable difference in how the bike behaves. So far, it's been running well with this setup.

    How did you get on with these? I'm looking at the blaze bags, would you recommend them? Any issues with paint damage?

  • @VotoCycling

    @VotoCycling

    4 жыл бұрын

    I put my foot/boot over the rider seat to get on the bike. No swinging my foot over the back for me. I would recommend them if you're don't mind soft bags. There is a little issue with the paint. I just put the tape that's provided in the kit when I take the bags on a trip. Otherwise, there decent bags.

    Are the Saddlebags large enough to hold a backpacking tent?

  • @VotoCycling

    @VotoCycling

    Not really, you would have to get creative if you want to pack a backpacking tent. Like, separate the poles from the tent in order to get it to fit in these bags.

    Wow didn't know that the SW-Motech Blaze could fit all that stuff. Very informative, thanks. I have the R8 waistpack from Kriega. It comes with a tool-roll, check it out and the R8 can fit quite a lot. Maybe even your first aid/emergency kit. You won't notice that you carry the waistpack after a couple of miles. Could be a good alternative option if you don't want to carry the R25.
