@@1990Thunderbolt My next door neighbour has a 2016 A45 amg and it has that screen. It looks like the engineers finished the car and then thought oh shit and one of them pulled an ipad out and stuck it on the dash. Nice car though.

Great video post. From your drive, it would appear the engine's torque provides ample performance, but I noticed the tire noise dominates even at lower speeds. Was that the case? Aside from that the car looked really well-planted and stable, with body roll kept well in check too. Quite impressive really, aside from what sounded like tiresome tire noise.

Golf R is more playful but depends what you want from a car and if you want the interior to look superior or just modern like the golf R

No the old a250 had 211bhp I’m not completely sure about the stats but something around that number

3 questions 1)Is the transmission good? (some people complain that is not "intelligent/slow" and jerks/jolt sometime in heavy traffic use) 2)how is the noise insulation for long trips on the highway? do you feel a lot of road noise or it's confortable? 3)this 2.0 liter engine has good low RPM torque or you need to rev it high to make the car "move"? Totally agree that it Jolts, but if put into sport she responds rather well. I drove 1500km in my new 250 amg and have to admit the drive was rather pleasant. I am sure there are cars out that (bigger engine bigger in size) that would be more pleasing but for a first purchase I would do that trip again in the 250. The raspy sound the car makes get me a bit confused on whether it is a turbo or not?! Any I still enjoy the car, pretty sure the 35,45's will have a better response.

The last two gears are to save fuel which is very smart since you can't go faster anyways. I have a old 2007 Audi A3 2.0 TFSI and it runs with around 6000RPM at 220km/h which is utterly dumb but thats how VW designed the cars back then.

I don´t think it comes to brakes all that much, i think it´s more of way for Mercedes to be able to promote the future AMG model. I bit like Porsche did with the Cayman.

Daniel Fl. No... no mercedes has a renault "engine" thid car has a original benz maschine and the smaller engines like A180, A180d, A200, A200d has only a renault engine block... and the technologie and all other parts was produced by mercedes benz!

M 1 I wouldn’t consider this A250 a competitor to the GTI. The A35 competes with the Golf R though.

Nathan Vonlanthen Yes that’s true but the Mark 8 Golf R coming out in 2020-2021 is rumoured to have around 400hp as well. It’s just a rumour so only time will tell if there’s any truth to it.

@@abbashaider8668 I don't think the rumors are true - I don't really see why the marketing team of VAG would allow the Golf R to be more powerful than the RS3, the latter being the more expensive product... Also, pushing the EA888 engine to 400 hp reliably would be quite a feat. If the rumors are true and the MK8R produces 400 hp, then for sure the next gen RS3 will produce over 400 hp.

With these prices I can get 2x 280 Gti with almost same performance.

I think over 150 MPH from a family car on a public road is plenty fast.
