2019 Lexus LC500 V8 | Split Personality Disorder

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

We do a quick review and follow up on the new 2019 Lexus LC500 to see if the subtle improvements from our last tests made the car better or worse. The market for 100k cars is small yet there are so many options. Cars like the Jaguar F Type, Porsche 911 and even cars like the BMW 8 Series and Mercedes equivalents. While the LC has some exotic car features it is dominated by the styling the V8 sounds more muscular than luxury.
Strap in for a Jack Singapore Speciale with a lovely heartfelt cameo from Johnny America.

"The seat coolers are so loud you can't hear yourself think." Lexus knows this and they've already included a solution: the LC500 has an onboard sound generator that drowns out the noise of the seat coolers. The sound generator is activated by a pedal under your right foot.

Christopher O'Grady a bit less “look-at-me” than an S coupe in my opinion. Which I see as a positive. This and the i8 must be my favourite sub 150k designs, but the LC has less strange proportions so it’s the winner.

When Toyota/Lexus sets out to produce a beautiful coupe, they truely knock it out of the park. Too bad there are so few examples of models they have actually done. LFA LC500 2000GT 2020 RC F track Edition... Hopefully they will release it, since it looks really great in pictures

@@raupenimmersatt6906 Does not look like a $200,000 car. The Japanese have this thing with using more cost effective design tricks and not really going all out as you can see with this vehicle and even the LFA(I love that car). However considering it's only $100,000 I don't considered that a fault. The Gulia Quadrifoglio is every thing this car tries to be in terms of comfort, performance, symbiotic connection and responsiveness experience. The Lexus is however simply more luxurious. A match made in heaven would be an Alfa design partnered with Lexus so we could get better reliability. The best of both worlds.

@@paulj9821 the Giulia QV is not a direct competitor to this car. That's like comparing it to an M3/M4. If you think it ought to match those you've missed the point. This is a luxury GT pure and simple. One thing the reviewers won't tell you is that in-gear acceleration in this is awesome and actually not far behind my M3 and 991 911 C4S. The pickup is also instant as there is virtually no lag. The LC-F is going to shit all over much exotic competition

Never, how long a car will hold up should never be a consideration in a car review. Cars are just to impress other shallow people, not be good investments. What is popular, now that is the important thing if you want to be popular too.

Spent 100k on this or 100k on a amg ? One thing is after few years it’s worth more than the amg ....hands down it’s a beautiful car . I’m kind of tire of people claiming there’s no feedback . Explain what’s your definition of no feedback . I’m sure he’s confused on what the purpose of the lc500 . When a car runs so nice and you don’t feel any potholes or imperfection on the street people wants to complain . Lexus didn’t make this car to be strip down and rough riding sports car . One thing I notice is people don’t give Lexus their respect . Buy this for 100k or a bmw or Mercedes for 100k ....then the two German made would be valued at 30k after 5 years .... might need more brain then money on the Lexus !

Me and my wife bought this car BECAUSE OF YOU SavageGeese, and let us tell you what role this car fills. My wife and I have no kids and we we didn’t want a Porsche because we never went to the track. We didn’t want a Mustang because it felt like a toy in the interior. We didn’t want a Maserati, an Audi or a Mercedes because we wanted something reliable, but unique. This Lexus is the only car on the market that makes you feel special, and is also confidence inspiring because it’s reliable. If you want to put 10,000kms on it per year, we know it will be fine; we don’t have to treat this car like a supercar. This car is absolutely perfect for us. We also have a Highlander, but we’ve put more KMs on the Lexus than the Toyota and we don’t cringe at the thought of doing so. So please, realize what this car does from the perspective of someone who’s not only paying real money to buy it, but also keep it

Saying 'your' in that context isn't meant to attribute ownership of the mistress fantasy to you personally, it's just a British colloquialism to use 'your' in that context as you were discussing it. Anyway I still disagree about the mistress, you might want to take her somewhere. And my point was, owning an XK8 with totally useless back seats, having a really good sized boot is a really saving grace, and I have filled it with luggage for only 2 people a few times, and it's at least twice as big as the boot in this Lexus.

I also bought the 2018 V8 LC500 based on being impressed by goose's last review and test driving it. Although the LC will at times frustrate you, stepping into any other GT car since, has made me realise how astonishingly good it is. It is a complete car which does bring an emotional connection with the driver. The BMW 8-series feels cheap inside, Aston Martin Vantage feels like a garbage can and the engine has no character, merc S class coupe is sterile and again no character. I actually don't mind the infotainment system on the LC. It is super quick to use when used to it. Also the TC can be completely defeated with no warnings flashing to annoy you which helps in the "fun" department. I keep trying to sell it and move on to something else (I usually change weekend cars every year) but I simply can't
