Hey guys! Today is a holiday so I'm sure many of you are in the house like me. I've decided to record a video for you guys to help pass time!!
Today I tried the Scrubbing Bubbles Extra Power toilet bowl cleaner. I had been eyeing this product for a while, especially after watching the commercials and repeatedly hearing the word "bubbly," lol. Y'all know I love a sudsy cleaner. There are two versions of this cleaner; the bubbly bleach gel and the extra power which does not contain bleach. So let me tell you guys, I first picked up the bubbly bleach gel.....I HATED IT! It was packed with chemicals and had an unbearably strong bleach smell. The smell is so potent it will literally make you nauseous, I was very dissappointed! I used it twice and tossed the rest. I'm not the biggest fan of scrubbing bubbles cleaners mostly because their products are mediocre at best but always very pricey. The scrubbing bubbles bathroom aerosols are exactly the same quality as the generic dollar store aerosol bathroom cleaners too..but I digress.
So I came across the Extra Power version and decided to give it a try because it contained no bleach. I like this version a lot better but I do have a few reservations. A few pros: it has a pleasantly fresh clean scent. It isn't strong or unbearable but just right. Also I love the color changing technology. It changes from green to a deep blue color after contact with water; Im assuming to tell you when it's time to scub. A few cons: IT DOES NOT DISINFECT. I was very surprised I did not notice this in store. Also, after recording this video I realized the cleaner left blue dye stains up by the rim of my toilet. I used the product as described and actually only let it sit for 5 minutes instead of the recommended 15 minutes. I was very surprised I saw dye, especially after scrubbing for nearly 6 minutes and flushing twice afterward. I've never had dye stick from a liquid cleaner before. I went over the stains with some Ajax powder and the stains came right up.
Would I buy again? Eh.....I don't think so. This toilet bowl cleaner is nearly $5 in store... $10 on Amazon. It was "fun" to clean with but there is no real benefit from a toilet bowl cleaner that doesn't disinfect . I will stick with Lysol Power or The Works which are disinfectants for nearly a fraction of the price.
