2019 BMW 330i review - 10 things you didn't know about the 2019 BMW 3 series

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

New to The Fast Lane With Joe Tunney? Here's a short, funny video to get you up to speed: • Joe Tunney car salesma...
The 1977-1983 BMW might have been the best all-around 3 series ever made...until now. Let's take a look.
1. The 2019 BMW 330i is made on BMW's CLAR "Cluster Architecture platform. This platform is made of high strength steel and aluminum and is the same core chassis as the X5 and X7
2. The 2019 BMW 330i is 25% stiffer than the outgoing model and is 50% stiffer (that's a lot in the modern world) at critical suspension points.
3. The B46 engine is also modular. BMW builds a single cylinder, 1/2 liter engine as a basis for the modular family of motors. Put 3 together in a row and you have the 1.5 liter 3 cylinder found in the gas part of the i8 exotic and also powers many Mini Coopers. The 4 cylinder therefore is 2 liters and the 6 cylinder is, you guessed it, 3 liters. The twin scroll turbo is actually a single turbo. Power is 255 horsepower which is good but it also puts out 295 lb-ft of torque which is fantastic.
4. The windshield is double glazed for sound quieting and the a-pillar is stuffed with insulation to make the car immune to oncoming air noise.
5. Furthermore, the coefficient of drag is an astonishingly low .26 thanks to a flat underside that is covered to minimize underbody turbulence. The result is a very quiet ride and 26 mpg city to go with a whopping 36 mpg highway and 30 combined.
6. The driver's seat is actually inboard of the steering wheel and canted towards the outside. The steering wheel is also angled to compensate. This allows for a high-degree of side-structure reinforcement. The back seat begins inboard of the left side of the front seat, making this a 4 adult sedan.
7. This 2019 BMW 330i is almost the same exterior dimensions as the BMW 7-series from the late 90's and early 2000's.
8. The trunk is 17 cubic feet which is huge for a small rear-wheel-drive car...and the seats fold down 40/20/40 and fold almost completely flat.
9. Despite weighing 3582 pounds and having a 112.2 inch wheelbase, the 2019 BMW 330i has exactly a 50/50 front rear and left/right weight distribution which helps keep it composed under high-performance handling and braking...this BMW 330i brakes from 60-0 in just 108 feet.
10. There's a feature called Back-up assistant that remembers the last 160 yards you drove last time you drove the car...this is great if you've gone up a winding hill for a dinner party and now that it's dark you're wondering how the heck you get down. Just turn the assistant on and it will go backwards exactly the opposite of how you got up here, even in pitch black darkness.
11. The steering wheel is only 2.3 turns lock to lock and...oops, I'm only supposed to have 10.

I appreciate that Guida. In the BMW M2 6 speed video I posted today I point out that the G35 coupe is still in my top 4 all-time for daily driver sports cars, along with the S2000, E36 M3 and A80 Supra twin turbo. The NSX and 993 would also be up there but they were more expensive without being any faster kzread.info/dash/bejne/doyY16WSZs-cpbw.html

I don't know if it's just me, but I find most of reviews annoying, simply because of the reviewer. Not the case here, lovely dude. Also getting my 320i in a few week, can't wait
