So after owning the beast for at least 2yrs. What is your opinion now of if?

The jerky feeling you get when accelerating from a stop is because it uses a clutch pack instead of a torque converter. That's the trade-off for having launch control.

Abel Bolog ya it’s pretty sad they can’t release the clutch slow enough to make it smooth

Crazy thing is this has been out for a while which means BMW had plenty of time to make something to compete yet the X3/4M (even in Competition form) come nowhere near the GLC63s... Mercedes-AMG definitely won this battle!

Nobody wins these so called battles unless it comes down to a real race, and let's face it most owners are not capable of driving high speeds. Far too many variables as to why owners choose one brand to another. The M5 virtually wins every track and review comparison to the E63S, but I'd still choose the E63S due to soundtrack.

Adedoyin Oluwo M models have always kept the AMG division out of arms reach. BMW's focus has always been about balance, whilst AMG is akin to a sledgehammer. It's only been recently that AMG have started to become more refined with driving dynamics.

Making me thing twice about the range rover sport and x5/6 M. The material quality and design of this thing is amazing. I saw one in person and it looks huge, dominant and handsome.

Range rovers are shit unless you enjoy the horrible reliability.

I think launch control is superfluous in these things. With even 400lb-ft of torque and 4Matic these things just hook. Don't even need to load it up with the brake pedal. Just release the brake and squeeze the throttle for the first 0.2 seconds to get a little inertial movement then mash it. Ballistic acceleration, little wheelspin, the triangle may appear for a bit but it's all part of the fun.

Audio cuts out at 02:00 and is not reinstated until 02:25

This is actually pretty nice looking.

I'd love to have more footage. I don't know if you realize this but I put these videos together by myself. No crew, nothing. I had a pretty big variety of shots including rolling footage and drone work in this vid (ok I lied, my brother helped get the rolling shots). This was hours of work shooting and editing all of which I do in addition to my full time job. The drone? Not cheap. The camera gear and editing system? Not cheap. The time? All said and done, probably 12hrs - most of which was done outside in -5 Celsius - all so you can relax for 15mins and enjoy footage of a car most of us will never get a chance to drive. So yeah, sometimes I still run out of footage. So apologies you had to look at my face, but it's where the words come out of. Feedback is appreciated, but I just want to give you a little perspective on how this works.

We don't want to see zoom ups of your face when looking at a CAR review. You need to acknowledge your consumers needs. It's not our problem but yours

Hey Mike & team- TY for the review. High quality video!! This mini beast competes with the Stelvio & Macan Turbo. The AMG's interior (although needing an update) is still the best looking imho. Luv the exhaust note and it looks much more menacing than the other 2. With the supercar craze here in Vancouver I'm starting to see a few more of these mini rockets on the roads during our winter. I'm waiting for the interior refresh before I serious look at this AWESOME AMG. All the BEST. Cheers from Vancouver, Canada!!

Great review- nice to see the analogue gauges for a change, they look amazing with that circular patch of CF- It's rare to see some option box unchecked in these models. I've ordered a pretty much base 2021 GLC 43 with the analogue gauges and hope they're the same design.

If it’s jerking maybe it needs a software update or you failed to stay out of sport plus for the first 1000 miles. Let’s also remember the transmission is learning your driving habits. So drive in all modes.

The problem with the GLC label is that I always think of the cheap entry level Mazda from the 1990s.

2020 apparently also got the electronic rear diff, the difference from then seems to be the active engine mounts on the S, aside from the obvious power difference.

Yes the entertainment ipad is outdated. Need an update. Should make the S available in the U.S.

Why do Mercedes stick that damn 'ipad' on the dash ??? Please incorporate into the dash like the GLE, many people complain about this. I'd buy one of these immediately but for that damn screen ! The GLE, is too big for my wife and me. Plenty of sales lost because of that screen...a great shame...

I have a gla 45amg and i dont mind the dash, you get used to it and i don't think it's that bad , the car motor, gearbox driving set up are just the best.

I too, like a nice piece of Ash. GLE or GLC? The sales figures are about even. They even look around the same. I just wish that M/B would somehow do something design wise to differentiate between their S/CUV’s (GL, GLA, GLC, GLE, and/or SUV Coupes). Aside from their G-Class, they’re all starting to look alike. The same canNOT be said with BMW (small to big numbers, Small number = small suv. Bigger numbers = bigger suv. Simple) or even Audi. Nice ride, ... Lease/Buy? Lease! Thanks Mike for a well edited and thought out review.

My advice... get yourself a Mercedes Benz E-Class Estate. Maybe even with the AMG package. Then you will have a beautiful ‘unique’ vehicle that will not only be timeless... But also be a (sleeper) Rocket!

Have a US ver 63S myself..... 43 is still bad ass but the punch and sound of the V8 just never gets old.

try more car footage and less clips on the geek. lacking sense. hate that snap on ipad look for the infotainment display... why not integrate like s class. instrument cluster looks dated...going for a "classic" theme?

Ok...so what you're saying is that I have to go to Canada to buy the version of this SUV that I actually want? WTF was MBUSA thinking from a product management perspective??? The USA is the land of SUVs....NOT HATCHBACKS! I couldn't agree more, the "coupe" version of the GLC AMG 63 is poorly executed design wise. It looks frumpy and unbalanced. Frankly, if I'm going to spend roughly 83K of my hard earned money for a vehicle like this, I'm NOT going to make that type of compromise.

Mazdas cx 9 interior looks better.

I am a big fan and an owner of Mercedes Benz. However, when I can buy a BMW X4 with AUD 70,000, why would I go and buy an entry-level GLC with AUD 75,000???

No thanks. I don't need an SUV that goes 0-100 kmh in 3.8 seconds with a harsh ride. I want luxury and comfort in an SUV. I'd take the GLE450 with air suspension over this GLC any day.
