This commentary and coverage is so much better than NBC’s. John tends to get a little excited but at least he knows what he’s talking about.

I love this multiclass races in IMSA.

1:08:46 The Porsche and Corvette's front wheels lift off the ground over the hill there, but the DPi's front wheels stick to the ground at the same speed. What a great shot and a good illustration of the difference in downforce!

Thank you SO much for uploading these races IMSA! Those of us without cable really look forward getting that notification. One question though, any plans to start uploading these in 1080p in the future?

@IMSA Official: Does the NBC TV deal have something to do with the replays coming out on Thursdays now? When FOX had it, it seemed that it came out on the Tuesday after the race.

My cable channels NEVER broadcast motorsports because there is WAY TOO MUCH hockey, baseball, basketball, football, raquetball, rugby, soccer, golf, lawnbowling, darts, snooker, chess, ping pong, poker, rock climbing, paint drying, basket weaving, archery, arm wrestling, dog shows, ballet, fishing, cribbage, rodeo, kyte flying, log splitting, and all the half hour expert analysis shows that go with all of the above..

my favorite part of any race, is the pit stops. they just look so cool

I think the Prototypes and GT cars need to have a 30 second start time difference, kind of like Creventic

I wonder if when Milner got airborne through that one turn mid-race if that didn't break the axle.

Im surprised Forza is relevant with iRacing available. iRacing is 1000xs better than forza. Make the switch boys.

CUAUHTLI 5 Iracing is also much different than Forza. Forza is arcade. Iracing is a sim. Plus Iracing is WAY more expensive. (Coming from someone with over $1,200 invested)

Hope you guys can continue and join iracing. It is worth it. I started sim racing in Forza. After Forza 3, It went down hill from there. Im close to $1000 into iRacing with equipment and the sim itself, but in a span of 3 years, so its not so bad. Hope you guys get into iRacing soon and again for those that stopped.

I wish they would have changed the Ford GT's livery more through the years. This one never looked good to me. Also would have been cool to see some independent Ford GT's in GTD.

In case you haven't heard they are planning on having throwback livery's on all four cars at Le Mans next month. I believe one car might still be in these colors to honor the 2016 win. For me being a corvette racing fan I also wish they'd change up the livery. Since 2014 when the c7r debuted theres only been small changes nothing drastically different from each year. When they ran the c6r the livery was completely different every year from 2009-2013.

these new 911´s are quite exellent...also the best sounding engine :-)

I've asked this before, and I'll ask again - why is it OK for the GLTM Porsche's to push their competitors out of the way??!!! (I don't have a dog in the GT fight, I'm a prototype fan.)

1:46:00 that Porsche has the strangest location for where the gas filler hose goes, towards the top of the front hood, and the the 24 BMW has another one, right to the side of the drivers window...

after 45 mins in when the DPi's start pitting I thought they would clean the windscreens which had gathered a lot of mud at the start...

All support races are posted the next business day following their live broadcast. The Michelin Pilot Challenge race aired 5/12 so will be available today. IPC airs 5/13 so will be available on Tuesday 5/14. Thanks!

Why does IMSA do events on weekdays?

The pit crews make winners and losers. The racers just throw on the miles and pass a few or get passed themselves. Management and ownership plays big roles too because they call the shots. Racing is an entire team effort.

Poor Turner Motor Sports. Couldn't catch a break last year, doesn't look like it'll get one this year

36:55 - GTD passes 2 prototypes, all going 3-wide in the turn - Go Seb!!! Ok, he holds the position for a whole 5 seconds, but I thought that was cool! SotR: RHR!!! (Can't go for the 911 that screwed up the start and only did well coming back from a penalty. I think they prolly could have won it but for the penalty. Nothing to cheer about, though fun to watch.) - Nerdy note: If the sound power given off by these cars could be harnessed, it would give another 10-15 hp! :)

@@Maenfy Oops! You're right. I knew it too when I said Go Seb! But normally a GTLM shouldn't be able to pass prototypes, especially on a turn with the downforce differential. I was being tongue-in-cheek too. I think they were all just being careful through a 3-wide turn. It's just weird to see a GT pass prototypes.

I don't think it's fair to penalise drivers for lapping cars from slower classes under yellow flag. I completely understand why you would prohibit battles for position, but that should be it. I mean, what are you supposed to do, jump onto the brakes in the middle of the straight? Also, have they been tampering with the fuel tank size of the GTE cars here in IMSA or is it just Hindhaugh being stupid again? Because Hindhaugh doubted whether some cars could go 50 minutes on fuel whereas I'm pretty sure I have seen them go over an hour elsewhere multiple times.

A great case was made for the Code 60 in this race. More than two hours in, a stalled car in the sand prompted a safety car. Which erased the hard earned gaps that the leaders had built all race long. Back in the day a stalled car in the sand trap would not even prompt a caution flag. We don't have enough races that go green from start to finish. Even if there is need for a caution, the gaps built should not be erased to quickly. The integrity of the endurance nature of these races should matter more than anything.

Driver safety must ALWAYS come first. a stalled car with no caution created potential dangers for the driver and also these cars are expensive. You wouldn't want your million dollar (if not more) car parked in a sandtrap waiting to get plowed into by another cars, oh which btw creates extra danger for the second cars driver. ie hitting a parked car vs a tire wall.

@@Dethmeister OK, I agree with penalty, but #5 and #55 do the exactly same thing... And I don't see #31 passing by pits... The laps that he can be passing by the pits I see he passing by the main straight...

@@mr_pedemesa , 2:46:51 The 55 got past the Porsche just before they reached the yellow flag (which is out in front of the bridge around where the shadow starts) but the 31 was passing just past the yellow. At 2:48:15 they don't show it but the announcers say that the 31 car is going through the pits.
