Excellent review, well done. I ordered an A Spec in Oct and am waiting for delivery. Your comments pretty much summed up what I thought of this vehicle. Cross shopped an X3 but felt that this was a better all around buy.

Great review. I leased an ASpec in white last week and loving the decision. Best car I've had to date. Quick, comfortable, practical and looks gorgeous. The 20" blacked out wheels and blacked out trim look amazing on the white. I want Android Auto, and I'd have liked the HUD and dampers from the Advance, but overall I'm thrilled. Minor addition: There are more cubbies under the trunk floor if you lift it up fully.

Well done review. 100% correct, for I'm on my second Acura and my hesitation with making this my third, is I want the design features of the A-Spec package, but the upgrades of the Advance as well. I think by not making the combination of the two available, Acura has done a disservice to themselves and their customer base.

I love the styling looks of the new 2019 RDX the aggressive front end design and sharp lines.. i'm in love ! Job well done on this video review you touched on all the points i had questions about .. such as the new infotainment system not being touchscreen and using the touch pad. This review made me feel confident about that new system, as i'm used to a touch screen display. I will be checking this car out at the upcoming 2019 NAIAS in Detroit .. As an owner of a 2011 RDX, it's kind of ironic how the generation RDX I have was ahead of the game. I have a 4-Cylinder SH-AWD on mine, and when they took it away in 2013, it was disappointing. The RDX between 2013-2018 was truthfully boring. It looked okay, but didn't have anything to special. I was so excited to see this for Acura. Next is the Type S.

The drive is responsive and semi firm; proper for all road conditions and especially for highway fun. Acura delivered a suv with all the right stuff. A test drive is mandatory if you are in the market for a SUV.

edmond kim Advanced package is $4,900, yes. But, I'm not so sure it's worth it considering it doesn't include upgraded wheels. The HUD wasn't that impressive, the keyless hatch opening (by kicking under the bumper) was awkward, and the heated rear seats and wheel weren't necessary for me. The active dampers are a nice touch though.

@@titanium7992 I am not one that wants upgraded wheels. Each time you add an inch, you drop ride quality for normal every day driving. Better handling with skinnier sidewalls, sure, but every little bump is felt more than standard wheels. I had that rougher riding card in my youth, I want a nice balance of handling and quality. Also, shorter sidewalls mean being more careful and driving slower on dirt and off-road conditions as well. I DO like those darkened rims and the black grill and trims though, and that adaptive damper option. Sad that both the A-Spec and Advance come up a littler short because you ditch one wanted item to get the other in both models...sigh. That said, I would lean to the 2000 more Advanced SH-AWD version and just be disappointed with the lack of blackened grill/wheels.

This is mostly due to no spare tire, but there has to be other reasons because A-Spec comes with 20 inch wheels and wider tires which should be heavier than stock rims on Advanced and Tech trims. Don't let the weight surprise you. My 2016 TLX SHAWD was around 3,700 lbs and no spare tire either. My MINI Cooper S is 2,550 lbs. Maybe less. Haha.

Some details provided in the video are not accurate but I'm sure others picked up on that. Like overall cargo volume is no where near 77 usable cubic feet! Acura also notes almost 80 cubic feet. *Max cargo capacity behind front seats. Based on SAE J1100 cargo volume measurement standard, plus floor space between first and second seats and front seats moved forward. This figure compares more accurately with most competitive measurements. It's really around 59 usable cubic feet with the seats folded down. Also, there is no seat bolster adjustments on the A-Spec, only on the Advanced. Finally, that "exhaust note" that you are hearing is electronic through the stereo. Oh yea, what about that stereo! There is no mention of the quality, 14 speakers, wattage etc. It's probably one of the best features on the car, IMO. Overall, it's a decent review, still a bit late compared to many others that have been out for months.

Buyer beware. JULY 11, 2019 - An Acura RDX infotainment lawsuit alleges the systems suffer from problems with the radios, backup cameras and the audio and navigation systems. The 2019-2020 RDX SUVs are allegedly a danger to drive because of the distractions caused by the infotainment problems. According to the plaintiffs named in the lawsuit, the infotainment systems were a big reason they purchased the RDX vehicles, and now they wish they wouldn't have purchased the SUVs. One plaintiff claims the RDX infotainment system started causing him problems within days of buying the vehicle. The system allegedly would take up to a minute for the audio to start playing, so he called the dealership and was told everything was normal. The plaintiff also claims voice commands are frequently unavailable and the infotainment system freezes and shuts off while he is driving. According to the plaintiff, the promise of Android Auto was important to him but it's been 10 months since he purchased the RDX and still no software update has been released containing Android Auto. The lawsuit says Acura's previous dual-screen infotainment system was a combination of direct touch, buttons and a dial. But when the third generation Acura RDX was released in 2018, it was equipped with a new single high definition 10.2-inch display controlled by a touchpad. According to the proposed class action lawsuit, Acura knew the systems were defective before any of the RDX SUVs were sold. In addition, the plaintiffs say since the vehicles were sold, drivers have constantly complained about the problems. "This has happened to me multiple times (10 or more). I'm happily cruising along with my CarPlay running waze, Pandora and my radio will just stop working and the display stops showing CarPlay information. Another variation is I'm on the phone connected to CarPlay and I can place and receive calls but half the time no one can hear me speak (I can hear them)." "My vehicle is hardly 6 months old and the infotainment stop working 3 times with 6000+ miles. The dealer mechanic doesn't bother bring the vehicle into the shop, they come out, disconnect the battery for a minute or two then reconnect the battery and the system is back on. Next time that happens, I would ask the service manager to document it." Infotainment systems are known as severe distractions to drivers even when the systems work as intended, but the RDX lawsuit alleges a system that continually malfunctions takes the distractions to a whole new level. Acura has allegedly failed to inform the public about the alleged infotainment systems problems and continues to manufacture, market and sell the SUVs with the defective systems. Furthermore, Honda/Acura has allegedly been unable to find solutions to fix the infotainment systems and dealerships typically tell customers to wait for software updates. In some cases, technicians will replace allegedly defective parts with the same defective parts which leaves drivers in an endless cycle of problems and repairs. According to the lawsuit, Honda and Acura dealers routinely tell RDX customers to refrain from bringing the SUVs to the dealerships because there is no way to repair the infotainment systems. The proposed nationwide class action lawsuit alleges at least 100,000 model year 2019-2020 Acura RDX SUVs are affected by the infotainment systems. The Acura RDX infotainment lawsuit was filed in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, Western Division - Banh, et al., v. American Honda Motor Co. The plaintiffs are represented by Hagens Berman, Goldenberg Schneider, and Niekamp, Weisensell, Mutersbaugh & Mastrantonio. CarComplaints.com has owner-reported complaints about Acura RDX SUVs and many other Acura vehicles.
