That is true but it has it's ups and downs we had a motor in last year for service because the customer put his boat on a lift and raised it out of the water thinking it was turned off because of how quiet they have become on some pontoons you can't hear them at all.

what is the different between 115hp yamaha outboard vs 115 hp max yamaha outboard? Do you think the 115hp is under power for a 215 XTS nautic star shallow bay? Thank you.

Definitely not underpowered in the least for a boat of that length and draft and in fact I would argue "ideal." Point being you're saving on weight, gaining on torque compared to a "regular" 115 Yamaha, increasing performance and keeping maintenance costs in check although it should be noted many owners love the 150s Yamaha has been making going on forever now. Point being with less weight you can add a jack plate for fishing or just boating in the shallow water. Of course this is "free advice" as well so..

Andrew nailed that answer a 115hp would not be underpowered I see more with the 150hp but that's preference not necessarily needed or that's how they bought them off the floor already rigged. For the money difference and extra Torque a V Max offers they are the better choice but they are also a lot harder to get at this time.

Do you have to place this motor deep instead of ear muffs

We don't really place it that deep just deep enough for the the impeller to pull water as it would on the lake. We don't run engines on muffs for videos because the sound is a lot louder when the exhaust is fully out of the water and doesn't show how quiet these engines really are that way. Thanks, James Jr
