2018 Polaris Sportsman 570 review. Base model.

A short video on the 2018 Polaris sportsman 570. I've seen a lot of these on here, but none of the base mode and wanted to do one for the potential customer who isn't going to spend extra cash on an deluxe edition.

Thanks for the review, this is exactly what KZread is for. No need to be a big name hot shot KZreadr, or known in the industry. Just a general consumers opinion is what I like to hear. I'm leaning towards these over Honda just for the fact you get more bike for less, but gamble on reliability.

Good review! I bought the 2017 570 base model back in May. Didn't realize they changed the instrument panel to all digital on the base model for the '18. Mine is the combo. That's a nice upgrade. Still love my bike. So comfortable and nice to ride. We ride in a lot of hills and mud and the 4 wheel on demand is sooooo nice.

Good review man. I bought a orange base model 570 new in 2016. No power steering and no engine braking. I grew up when 300cc ATVs took you anywhere you needed to go and power steering wasn't even a thought. So I figured I didn't need it then and I dont need it now. I ended up leaving with a brand new 570 base model for 4600 bucks out the door at Abernathies Polaris in Union City, TN which is cheapest dealer in America. There is no way I would have paid several grand more just for a few gizmos I dont really need. As I said I grew up in a time when rider skill got you around rather than engine size and easy steering and dont need it now either. I do agree the 570 is pretty powerful.....its accelerates pretty hard like a 400ex sport quad I rode for years. It would probably beat my old 400Ex actually in a drag race Thats not bad for a big ATV the size of a tank. Mine will pull the front tires off the ground on demand with a stab of the throttle. For 570cc single cylinder it packs one hell of a punch.

Great job on the review, bud! Just bought a 2019 570 this week. I love it, it’s more than enough bike like you stated. No one needs a 1000 unless you’re pulling stumps. Trust me... a 570 has plenty of power. There’s a $1200 rebate on the 2019’s until December! Go get one!

great video , thanks! II myslef and just an average rider who uses the 570 for trail riding and hunting. i dont need all the 'biggest baddest' item on my quad. One thing to note with these machines is the heat radiating to the bottom of the seat. i have a 15' 570 and the bottom of the seat has deformed due to the heat build up by the exhaust. the seat is made of HDPE and has no shielding so if you do a lot of slower riding, be cautious. you may start to see the front of the seat pull away from the body....mines opened up 3/4"

Rich Barber I've only driven a bike that had power steering once and that was for a few minutes, so to me I'm not missing anything since I've never had it on a bike I own. I have heard that if you get one with EPS then you do not want to have another bike without it, but more me this is fine. Not hard to turn or anything like that. Less money, one less thing to brake. I'd say test ride both of them and decide for yourself. Hope this helps.

Depends what you're gonna do with it, I think, but I have it (EPS) after having had a unit for 20 years that didn't. It's pretty darn nice on trail riding, but where it really shines is when I plow snow or have to deal with tight-quarters maneuvering. No fighting with the handlebars any more for me. The older I get, the less I wanna do that!

Hi......thanks for the review. I’m buying a Polaris 570 in 2020 and I’m wondering if power steering is necessary. What are your thoughts? It’s almost $1000 extra.

KellySalt222 check out my second review video I talk about it some. For me personally I’ve never had ESP so I don’t miss it. I can use this fine. Maybe if you were going to trail ride for hours and hours it would be beneficial, but for me it’s just one more thing to break and more money. I prefer it without. Enjoy your Polaris when you get it. You won’t be disappointed.

The Ragin Cajun thanks so much! Ill be doing most of my riding with my brother in the CO snow:) I was already leaning toward no power steering (because of cost) and now I’m pretty sure I’ll be just fine without it. Thanks again! I’ll check out your other videos.

When you are pulling that trailer with all that wood, did it struggle. Im wanting one for work more then play. Will this 570 cut it?

Scott Witkowski It pulled that fine. I put it low and just went. I only pulled it from one neighbors to my yard. Probably 200 yards. That’s the heaviest load I’ve had on it. I’ve carried 300-500 on it a few times though and again it didn’t have any issues. I just didn’t pull it very fast in Low. I also found out from my neighbor what he have me was a little less that a cord, I originally thought he told me it was a little over when I made the video. It was my first time having a wood burning fireplace so I wasn’t as familiar with how much a cord is. That said the trailer itself is a fairly heavy trailer too, so it still pulled a substantial load. This is also more for work that play for me. I have yet to take it on a proper trail ride. I do use it daily though.

@@theragincajun1413 Ive got an old Yamaha Big bear 400. Its been good but just doesnt have enough grunt. I gotta a little 4x8 trailer. The big bear has trouble pulling that with a load of brush. I think that 570 will be good for my needs. Thanks for your review. Seems every review on youtube focus on play, rarely work.

Scott Witkowski I think you’ll enjoy it. It defiantly doesn’t have issue with brush. I’ve pulled plenty of brush, deer stand, 4-5 adults, and stuff on mine. Just have to be careful with it being belt driving and trying to pull a really heavy load in High gear. Hope it helps.

Switch 800 tires are ITP Mud Lite II, size is 26x9-12. I bought it from the dealer with these tires and rims, and can't say if there is a loss of power. I'm sure to a minuscule degree there is, however it is still plenty of power.

Ive been studying a number of ATV,s for quite a while now, I think Im choosing a Polaris 570 EPS. I plan to use it at the cottage for work around the yard, Plowing riding etc. Might consider the 850, not sure yet, what do you guys think, 570 or 850, a buddy has the 850 and it seems huge and more power than ill need, but I don’t want to look back thinking I should have bought the 850.

  • @theragincajun1413

    @theragincajun1413

    6 жыл бұрын

Dale McCluskey it really just all depends on what your going to be doing exactly. I can say the 570 has plenty of power. The 850 obviously has a good bit more. It's got about 35 more HP, 250 more towing capacity, and about 150 more payload I believe. However it also has a larger price tag. I see the 570 as the perfect starter bike, and or wallet friendly ATV. You get ALOT for the price, but if your not worried about price I would choose the 850. Once this one is paid off I will most likely give it to my wife, and upgraded to a bigger one myself.

Thanks nice budget for a toy. I can only speak for myself, and I know this is a 570 video but I'd get the 850. I'd rather have the power and not need it than not have it and need it. Just wasn't in my budget at the moment.

Speaking as a guy who went from a 1996 Magnum 425 to a 2016 450 HO EPS, I can say without a doubt: That power steering is worth its weight in gold! Makes plowing a LOT easier, especially when you're axle deep in a snowbank you just pushed into!

Sylvain Mino never been a fan of Suzuki so didn’t even want one. The brute force is a great ATV from what I researched and read, but it’s more bike than I really needed and it was quite a bit more than I wanted to spend. Basically this was the best bike I found in the 500 class when comparing price/power/towing/reviews on previous models.
