The audio in this video was recorded with in-ear binaural microphones. If you wear headphones, your mind won't be blown, but it will go, "woah."
I'm also the producer for the Winding Road KZread Channel:

Here on TheTopher, I'm known for putting a camera on my face and driving cars. Whether it's about any of my personal cars or reviews on weekly test vehicles, the goal is to give you an idea of what a certain car is like to drive or live with. Most of my videos are filmed in POV, with my clothes on, and (for like the 5th time) with in-ear binaural audio. Which, if I haven't made it clear yet, is why you should wear headphones. Because of the whole "woah" factor. It's there, trust me. Try it, you'll see! Or don't. As long as you whitelist me on your adblocker I'm okay with whatever you do or don't do with regards to headphone usage. That is all. Oh and I guess you should also probably subscribe. Why are you still reading this, you should be watching the video. With headphones! Hah, had to sneak that in there one more time. Later!

Rain Santiago the LS 460 is not that great. The engine is not all that smooth and quiet as the flagship LS should be and the ride comfort is not all that great. If I were you, I would look for an extremely well maintained LS 430 (2004 to 2006). That was the last car Lexus made that totally emphasized *LUXURY* , everything else be damned!! .....And contrary to what many of these nutty reviewers keep saying, that car handled very well, especially considering that it is primarily a LUXURY sedan, not a sports coupe! The ride was soft and silky, the steering was teflon-light, and engine and exhaust were SILKY SMOOTH and DEAD-QUIET, and the car was so isolated from the world, it was amazing. And I'm also a late Gen X / early millenial, not some 70 year old person. * rollseyes * We are just smart people, who know that a LUXURY vehicle should not compromise one ounce of luxury for all the coupe-like design and sportiness bullshit * rollseyes * . For the times I feel like going on a "sporty" drive on a winding road, on a Sunday, I will have a REAL sporty car: A Mazda 3 with a 6 speed close ratio manual, sport suspension and summer tires * rollseyes *

Hey chris, think 4k 60FPS HDR is somethin' you could post on a car review? You've got by FAR the best quality video and audio content in all of automotive journalism, no1 can dispute that (and best content, subjective but that's my opinion), but Yea I'm wondering if it's possible to throw HDR in that mix? Or have you already? my only HDR device is my samsung galaxy S8 which I believe only has HDR10 or something like that, but if i'm seeing shit in HDR it does tell me in the quality setting along with motion rate and resolution. i.e. HDR1440P60FPS

v6 flagship equals video over in my book. i dont care if they even give you free gold bars when you buy the car . if i had to buy a lexus sedan and spend some serious cash it would be the gs-f, now that is a dying breed of excellence and naturally aspirated v8 power and IMO the gs-f is simply a better looking car as well inside and out.

This twin turbo V6 has far better power/torque delivery and fuel economy than the V8 did, so who in their right mind would still want an obsolete engine? I say good riddance. The only complaint I have about this car is the infotainment system which feels a bit outdated, particularly the inexcusable absence of android auto and apple car play.

This new LS has grown on me. It is not the LF_FC Concept they showed last year, and that was what I really wanted, but this is a very good looking car, and definitely offers a sporty, almost youthful alternative to the one-design-fits-all German fare. The V6 offers V8-like performance. My biggest problem with the car is the telematics &graphics are a step behind everybody. You can't have everything for $75k to start. Excellent value play by Lexus.

Its something about this interior I just dont like, the dash just doesn't seem cemetric. It all just looks weird I love the outside minus the taillights, but the interior doesn't look on par with, the likes of the SClass,or 7Series. Those interiors instantly scream top of the line luxury, but I'll reserve complete judgement until I can sit in it for myself, once its finally released to consumers.

Lexus has departed from its original luxury path a few years ago, with aggressive sports styling creeping in for its other models. I agree with many of you in that the latest LS has very nice and modern interior, first class actually. As to the exterior design..., wow the worst thing on earth is to apply the aggressive sporty styling to the LS series. I also agree that the best LS should be the last generation or even the 2006 model (LS 430) -- even though they did not have such a nice interior. For the exterior styling, the S Class has certain elegance in it. For this latest LS, is it trying to be a sports sedan or what? The exterior styling is a disaster for a luxury car.

Weirdly enough I think this car is a step back for the LS. The previous generation felt like an S Class competitor and when I drove it the ride and quietness were amazing. This car seems a tad more sporty but the space is lacking and it looks more upmarket Toyota Avalon versus looking like it's in a class of it's own.

Mr A. Let's face it. From the looks of it, the '18 Camry and '18 LS look to have been designed at about the same time, by the same team. This thing is a Camry... Spared no expense!

I've seen neither car in person. But even in pictures, it's clear they share similar design language. Particularly in the rear end styling.

This car must be good. Lexus put a lot of effort into it because the last generation slipped hard with both critics and the market. The 2014 S-Class simply decimates this class and Lexus knows it so they overengineered this.

but why ! this is a heavy and long luxury car, similar to the S class why make it sporty ? for whom ?! who is going to use this for sport !! this thing is big and heavy when you have other real sport cars like LC and cars from other companies this is supposed to compete vs S class other big luxury cars of course most kids will think this is sexy now, but these kids aren't LS buyers, they just like anything sporty most people who like this type of luxury cars, will not like this design just look at the small speed meter, oh my god :(

I really don't care for his reckless driving, especially on those roads if a car coming the opposite direction or if he clips the lane that is a head on collision and with him driving like a maniac at 70 and 80 mph it would like be fatal for both parties; not to mention he could easily veer off the road and smash into a tree and down the side of the hill/mountain. It was very hard to watch this taking that into consideration. If you want to drive like that go to the track, you have cyclists and people pushing baby carriages have some respect for the residents.

Yeah cause you can hear the V8 in the LS? People literally have to put on aftermarket exhausts to get any note out of the V8. V6 with higher output is the way to go. If this was a proper LC F requiring a throaty motor I'd agree.

Yikes. Just the sound alone is a turn off. Does not sound like a flagship luxury sedan from a Tier 1 brand. From start-up to acceleration it sounds no different than a 6-cylinder car costing half as much. And the interior does not look impressive in the least. The buttons on the center stack look retro, the instrument cluster looks like it was all stuffed into a very small space, and the Shrek ears for the stalk controls is out of place and should not be positioned that high as if they were used constantly.

wow i sort of agree. lexus has basically dropped the ball on the interior completely. also the exterior. i dont like this company anymore because it seems that the harder they try, the more they fail. they shouldve responded to the whole "boring" stigma by purposefully giving the world a middle finger, and made their cars even more boring (which was actually a good thing)

An individual who can afford such a car is usually sophisticated enough to not to make judgements on a video and until he or she tests the car. You certainly don't seem to have that level of sophistication; hence, I, too, think you can't afford owning one. FYI, the cabin noise in Lexus LS has always been comparable to the likes of Rolls Royce and Bentley. Do some homework while working hard saving up for a luxury car.

Honestly in my opinion this new LS lost its identity of being a huge, fine luxury car with good looks. The looks, i mean the taillights with those chrome lines going down like a LC500, i hate that so much...And the proportions are wrong, on the sideview that swept back is so ugly, makes it look like a hatchback. The interior is quite nice, but using one digital tachometer (like the other lexus models), instead of a full like 12 inch LCD one like most companies use, is just stupid and not luxury at all... Damn i would take the last gen LS in a heartbeat, seriously...

Rafael_Santos It's part of Lexus' product channel strategy they launched a few years back. They want to retain their Boomer demographic, while also gaining Millennials' and Gen X' business. They make their vehicles multi-role now... like Genesis.

Rain Santiago Im not sure if the climate control and heat and cooling seat feature is operated thru buttons or the screen, if its in the screen thats bad cause if the screen breaks, how you gonna enjoy the amenities/features? I prefer buttons, if it they break, it would be easier to replace than replacing a screen. Porsche still keeps it somewhat old fashion, which I like.
