    I own a 2019 and the fact that it resets the supermoto mode is a good thing. Don't want to forget you have no abs when you are used to have abs. Safety first. You want to go nuts, the bike needs you to tell her you wanna play. Great review by the way. Subscribed

    Great Review of the Bike I have been confused about which bike to get for my first bike since there are so many choices out there for 2019 and 2020, This KTM 390 has been on my top 3 but rumored issues with it both abroad and here in the U.S. have me taking a step back from it especially the "overheating" even though I love everything about it! I also watched your review of the 2019 Kawasaki Z900rs that's also a really rad looking bike I've been considering now that the 2020 has a new Army Green color here in U.S. Pretty Dope, but maybe a little too Big on the CC's for a first bike? Man it would be Dope to see you do a review on the (2019) Honda CB500F, I can only find a handful of reviews that's my 3rd choice I am looking at, Anyways ran across your Motorcycle review channel a few weeks ago, you Gained another subscriber, Pretty Good reviews bro! I've put over 1200 miles on mine this summer and zero issues. They had head gasket issues on the early bikes from the last generation around 2013-2014 era and folks keep bringing that up but talk to an owner of a newer gen and that problem doesn't exist. Same with overheating, the bike does have a cooling fan that will come on when it's really hot and you aren't moving but it doesn't stay on long. Never seen an issue with overheating. Compared to the other bikes in the 250 to 500 class range this is a deal. If you can find a low mileage used one like I did then it's even better!

    I rode the 2017 CB 500 F at the training course while I was working towards my license, my bike now is the Duke 390 (2019). Comparing the two the Duke has significantly better brakes and suspension, feels lighter and is a little bit more fun overall. On the other hand the Honda is an absolute tank, the training bike I rode had 40k kilometers on it and had survived hundreds of drops and crashes, rode just fine. It's also a lot of fun, but the duke has an electronic throttle and a more snappy engine that's happy to wheelie at second gear. Also the seat on he CB was a bit too low for me (I'm 183 cm - 6ft), the seat height on the duke is more suitable for taller riders.

    Great precise review. And good audio for once on youtube. What's the ground clearance for this 2018 model? Planning to get this used, I've reading different values on google. Also how do you think this will do for some off road riding? Not rocks of course like dirt and rough roads? I'll be doing like 30% of that vs maybe 70% road.

  • @NothingToProve

    @NothingToProve

    6 ай бұрын

    Thank you. Well, if your going to do 70/30, you might consider the 390 Adventure, instead of the Duke. The ground clearance for the Duke is 150mm and the Adventure is 200mm. So there is a significant difference between the two - 50mm. Tires really make the difference in off-road and the Duke comes with street tires, which are terrible on gravel/dirt. The ADV comes with 70/30 tires so it will handle way better off-road and still do decent on-road. take care, Scott

    Hey Scott, just found your channel today and binge watched almost all of it! I am finishing my A licence school (unrestricted), so the next step is choosing my first bike. I narrowed it down to the Duke 390 and the MT-07 - do you have any experience with MT-07 and would you consider any other? My question is, which is the better one for learning all needed riding skills? I am a little afraid I might grow out of the Duke really soon. In lessons I ride a Kawasaki ZR-7 (56 kW I believe) and I don't find it overwhelming (it's pretty old and heavy - 200+ kgs I think). Would love to hear your thoughts. Love your videos and your message "nothing to prove".

  • @NothingToProve

    @NothingToProve

    Thanks for binge watching, LOL. Since you are used to the weight of 200kg, then that opens the door to a lot of bikes but we still need to be careful with weight and size until you get your skills up to speed. So you are headed in the right direction with the MT07, with that being around 182kg. Although the 390 is better in a corner and lighter you might find yourself looking for more power a year or two later and the 07 just might scratch the power itch enough to keep you interested a few years longer than the 390. Also, you might consider the Kawasaki Ninja 650 and Suzuki SV650 too. There are a lot of bikes out there that are good entry level bikes, it's just a matter of you finding the bike that fits your physical size & weight and doesn't have too much power to get you into too much trouble too quickly. Ride safe, Scott

  • @NothingToProve

    @NothingToProve

    Both make my top 3 list of first bikes. The best is the 390 Duke, IMHO. The most performance for almost the same money. In fact the frame on the 390 comes from the bike that KTM races in the 250 MotoGP. That is why it's so good. I think that I will start my wife out on the 390 this year. Or the 310, which ever is the better deal/value that I can get from the dealerships that I work with here.

    Depends on whom you ask. I personally have not experienced any problems with the 390, 690, 790, 890, 1090 or 1290 motors from KTM. I know that guys complain about them on the net but I don't personally know anyone that has had a problem with them. The main problem with the 390 is that guys will abuse them on track days and then try to sell them as soon as the motor starts to have problems from being abused on the track. So be careful about buying a used one, especially if you live in the states. So new is ok, but a used one, be careful, from a person you know/trust then ok.

    KTM did a massive torture test on these engines something around 600,000 miles decided between ten bikes so roughly 60,000 miles each no issues. Like anything if you beat the crap out of it and or don’t do proper maintenance then it’s going to fail solely due to the owner
