2018 GSXS 1000 Hits the Dyno and Makes Major Gains from ECU FLASH - Moore Mafia GSXS1000 GSXS 1000F

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Watch as we dyno tune this 2018 GSXS 1000 through the stock ECU. The ECU has a lot of restrictions as well as crazy lean fuel curve that we correct. The gains are very noticeable even for an everyday rider.

Very much appreciate the detail in this video. Interested in having you guys re-flash mine. An observation.....it would be interesting to know how much of the hole in the midrange was caused by the deletion of the stock exhaust system. While it's very clear that your services were absolutely required to fix it, I really wonder whether the hole would have been there had the stock exhaust been there. Any insights? Having said that, there's no question that there is a substantial opportunity to make more power at the top.

Chris I was curious to see what you could do with this bike! Unfortunately there aren't a lot of exhausts or tuners doing "big" things with this bike and we all seem to have the "snatchy throttle" issue with this bike when stock. I have an 18 and with this engine I felt there could/should be some real decent numbers possible with the right tune. I came off a Busa and was initially pretty disappointed. I even called Brocks to see if they could make a pipe for it and they said not yet :( Like I said the choices are pretty limited, if you check out the GSX-S forum everyone is searching for a GOOD tuner for this bike! Hopefully we found one! ;)

@@TeamMooreMafia Hell yeah and for a K5 based motor and a truly comfortable ride they are a great bike IMO. Plus I paid around 9 grand for mine as a leftover. What else can you buy with 1000cc GSXR motor with traction control, abs for that price? lol A lot of "bang for the buck" if we can get some hp out of them! What pipe would YOU suggest for it? Again since its a rather "cult following" with this bike the "big guys" haven't made a full exhaust yet. Main options for a header are Arrow and M4. Yosh makes one but you have to get it from Japan and it looks a bit...."different" then usual. Not a "regular" system from them. Thru 3rd gear you can pull away from a 1000 SS but once he gets wound up and 4th up he will catch you and start to pull away. That low end torque is what you want in the mountains and the handling and up right riding position is so stable and comfortable. The SS really needs a track to get the most out of it.....600 don't stand a chance on straightaway but in the mountains it really depends on the rider....a really good rider on a 600 can hang with a 1000 not as good rider in the mountains.

I wanted one of those, due to back issues I had to sell my 2012 busa and bought a 07 bandit 1250. I did all the performance mods and it's no racer for sure. I'm a extremely heavy guy and let me tell you it makes this poor bike so slow. I did all of Dale Walkers mods and even bought the headers fuel controller also. I been wanting to call your shop Chris to see maybe getting it tuned on dyno. I don't feel there is anything left in it. It has stock gearing but bought all new sprockets and chain and was gonna go from 18/43 to 18/41 to relax it some at highway speeds but with the wife and I on the bike I do t believe it will pull the gearing. Anyway I would love to come across a gsxs1000f and maybe sell the bandit. I have had it 5 months maybe only put a few hundred miles on it.

go 17 / 46 on the gearing and you will enjoy it a lot more about 4000 rpm at 90mph, these motors are on the torque curve at 4000 rpm up. also the ecu on the bandit really restricts the timeing from what I have been told and is in HEX iirc so a pain to mod. I looked into it in 2009 when i bought my bandit. fuel adder is about the best you can do ATRE to make it use a specific timeing map with gear 4 5 6, headers rob low speed torque below 5000 and the small wall stock headers imo make the bike more fun for street. I also looking at the gsxs naked have fun

@@MrPsiclone666 I have a yosh pipe with arrow headers, they look great and shaved good amount of weight. I did the pair mod and also pulled the secondary throttle blades also. These bandits don't mske much power to begin with. It does feel stronger for sure just not enough to keep the wife and I from getting run, over. I got a deal on the bandit so I bought it. Was hoping it would have pulled us better but heck I might be making 120 hp on a good day honestly. I heard some guys run 18/40 and like it but I didn't want to go to crazy so I went 18/41 but still don't think 2 up it will pull it. I did notice it didn't want pull until I got over 4000. I want to put it on a dyno see what my AF is. Thanks for replying

@@velocityturbosuzuki I hear ya bro maybe if you lowered the gearing to 17 / 46 thats +6 you may find it wakes up the bike, also you can still use stock chain length with this setup. you have gone the other way and made it to tall imo, stock was to tall for me and using 17/46 you may find you enjoy 6th gear 4000 rpm at 90 mph and you twist the throttle and go rather than drop it back a few gears. my 99 b12 is geared 14 / 48 where 15/45 is stock and in 5th gear it is sitting at 4200 rpm @ 90 mph . for these 1250 engines 4000 rpm is just starting to git the sweet torquey spot HP is nothing on these bikes, torque is what I enjoy. the zx14 is the first bike I ever thought about going taller on gearing but like the busa you know they are a different animal to the bandit. I love the bandits for the ujm machine that they are nothing real special but a lot of fun in traffic. hope you get yours to where you are wearing smiles for miles
