Not a bad build I def dig it! I have a 2017 manual Tacoma and planning to make it my overland rig due to how small it is and reliable. I’m sure the raptor gets better mpg than the tacos but the reliability is what calms me down when I’m taking the truck off grid.

Awesome truck! I just bought a 2017 F-150 with a raptor front end. A lot of people think it's a raptor. It also has a 2" lift. I've never owned a Ford but so far so good. We just took it to Oak Creek canyon pulling a trailer. Did awesome. Same color as yours. Would love to get accessories for it. Great video. Thanks for sharing. Take care.

This is a very different approach to an overland setup compared to most of the youtube vids I've been seeing. I like it. And some useful ideas for accessories to bring with. Great job! By now maybe you've done part 2, I'll keep an eye out for it. I'm planning on getting a 2024 Raptor, and have been leaning towards the Diamondback HD bed cover and building a set up around that. I like your approach here though, and I agree, that modular capability is awesome, so I'll give it all some more thought. I wonder, would it be difficult to take the entire set up off, and then put it back on again, so between trips I just have the normal bed? Oh, and in your experience is just two Max Trax enough, or would 4 be better? Thanks. Ah, I see part 2 is linked at the end. I'll watch it now.

Hey Trav, I’d like to recommend a high lift jack, some sort of trail welding set up (there are many to choose from), an air compressor with enough air line to reach all 4 tires, and a cb or vhf radio setup. These are absolute necessities if your overlanding. I’ve spent years doing it myself, and could provide a much larger list but I’ll keep part 1 short. I really like what you’re doing and the content you’re putting out. Much love brother, Semper Fortis.

Why a second gas tank when it’s way easier to just replace the stock tank with a bigger one. Plenty of kits out there. Costs about $1200. I upgraded my fuel tank on my 2022f350 to a 60 gal. 1250 miles to 1 tank of fuel.
