got to talk to Patrick Long at Road America before and after the PWC race on Sunday in 2017 about racing, Porsche, and Project Cars 2 he is one of the nicest drivers i every talked to. He ended up winning the race and he signed my Porsche flag in victory circle. Right after he got out of the car and talked to the tv person he came over and signed my Porsche flag. i would love to get the chance to talk to Patrick again.

The 77 Mazda's race was ruined with their last pit stop when the tire changer couldn't get the right front wheel to come off. It must have been really stuck on there. The car left the pit without it being changed and it wasted a lot of time.

2:02:37 (also 1:44:41 & 2:47:18) - How can someone go off on a turn exit and hit bare concrete, twice? A frontal impact at that speed could really have hurt him. Why no tire barriers? Why no SAFER barrier? I thought modern circuits had all that in place, at least around the curves. Yeah, he was a ways out of the curve, but he was still in the area where the barrier was set back, so at some time, someone considered that part of the barrier a collision risk. Lindsey was right in the middle of a curve, but there wasn't even an ARMCO until past his point of impact. There is an awful lot of bare concrete at this circuit, and I don't understand why. I love this circuit, but I've never noticed this before.
@Sam-jv6fb
5 жыл бұрын
they cant really do anything at the kink, the barrier is right at the property edge, so they cant move it back, and they could use the chicane before the kink, but that is opposed by most drivers because it ruins the flow and speed of the track at its fastest spot there. Its a tough call for change, I dont see anything happening
@Sam-jv6fb

and this is not a modern track, its the same layout since the 1950s
@beenaplumber8379

@@Sam-jv6fb I meant it's a track being used for modern racing, not that it's a modern circuit. I misstated that. If the drivers like it the way it is, I guess there's no sense imposing the chicane on them, but still, some tire walls or something on the outside of turn 14 (onto the uphill main straight, where they're gonna be heavy on the gas) seems like a no-brainer. There's room there. They have a wide run-off area, all grass (which doesn't slow anybody down), but hard concrete for those who make it across the grass. I don't think it would ruin anyone's experience to put a tire wall there at least. There's plenty of room for it. The crash at 2:02:35 shows how easy it is for a car to hit the concrete barrier with speed.
