If you are going to do a performance test of the Corvette 8 speed auto DO IT IN PERFORMANCE MODE (Sport or Track). Eco and Touring are for comfort and smoothness.

Golden Pony, Great explanation of this car. I'm interested in the 2018 ZR1 do you know if GM are going to produce any in RHD and if so when. Would you have a list of ALL the options and specs for it as you just described for the car you just drove, it was excellent and covered it all I think. Bruh, at 8k the Z07 package is a steal and it simply is the greatest performance add on for any car on the market, period. You can't even buy the carbon ceramics separately for that price.

It appears your impressions on performance of this car is with a full tank. Quite impressive considering most tests are done with only 1/4 tank (which would make the car about 100lbs lighter).

It would be helpful to know what's new or changed on the '18. For example, was the overheating addressed? Your description was thorough but I didn't detect any differences from the '16 or '17.

What about the lug nuts? Did chevy change this problem

You never mentioned changes GM made to correct the overheating issue on the track. Or did they make any?

Heads up. 1998-2002 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am, Fire Hawk are destined to double, triple in value. I give it 1 year. They can be picked up for pennies. The fire hawk has similar stats to the 2002 ZL1...Give it a year and you will see.

He didn’t know how to use them if you don’t shift when you suppose to it will just like in a stick

My dad's Z06 got 2.77 second but that's because of the car tires warm up. Also the Chevrolet said 2.8 seconds.

Gold Pony I love the Z06. But, let's be realistic. The car isn't as quick as Chevy claims it is. And you're claiming the acceleration experience is on the same level as the Audi R8 V10 Plus....which is also not true. It's a beautiful car. But it falls behind competitors like the Nissan GTR, Ferrari 488 GTB, Audi R8 V10 Plus, Lamborghini Huracan, Porsche 911 Turbo, and McLaren 570 S, in terms of acceleration and 1/4 mile times. But it is still a good bargain at it's price (although it appears like Chevy keep increasing the price each year).

tmat04 This cars has a record time of 10.4 seconds 1/4 with a 129 mph trap speed I believe . That's insane and is much faster then 570s ,r8 v10 ,turbo s. GTR isn't even a competitor anymore common man ,it lost around a track to a mustang this year . GTR is still decent 0-60 with awd but 0-100 times are laughable .A 460 hp stingray with a good launch gets similar 0-100

Yep, there's more too. No need to do the exhaust test inside a building full of echos. No need for the sound system "act". Sounds like one of those auto commercials on late night TV. He missed the review on the "Valet Mode". Less "disk jockey" talent would help with those audiences who want to get straight facts on a $100k car.

Where can one drive this Vette, or any other mega super car, for that matter? Only on a race track. Please give me a1950's or 1960's Lotus? Thank You! Peter Brooks.

Why is the tachometer so important? Wouldn't people want to know their speed more? Just asking not trying to offend anyone (people tend to take these questions the wrong way).

93Adamv23 I agree. And I don't think 8sp is as quick as Chevy claim it is. They won't do what the Camaro team did for better cooling of the LT4 engine. And they didn't place the 10spd automatic inside the 2018 Z06. I don't know what the Corvette team is thinking.

I think the 10 speed is to wide I could be wrong I'm a ford fan but I also like chevy too I generaly thing the pakageing isn't sufficient for the new 10 speed trans. its shorter then the 8-and 6 speed but I think its wider... anyway just my thoughts

Corvettes are always eye Pleasers always have been the only problem though is sheer overall performance of the car Corvettes are meant to be in straight lines in straight lines only other than that that's about it

my late husband's rambler classic was fast so whats the big deal. plus the rambler had a back seat. why are the interior lights on while youre driving....see the light on in the back of the hatch area.

That little pocket in the rear is a stupid place for a gun. You couldn't possibly get to it in an emergency. Keep your gun behind the stereo in that hidden compartment.
