THANK YOU SO MUCH for this video Jared! I hadn't planned on stopping at The Badlands but now I am thanks to your awesome videos! Thoughts of boondocking on the rim of such areas has been a dream of mine for YEARS. As a Pancreatic Cancer Survivor I am planning a 3-4 month, 10,000+ mile camping, kayaking & bicycling adventure staying in my rooftop tent. My doctors tell me I have a 5% chance of living the next 5 years & that was just over a year ago! I ALWAYS think positive but I'm not waiting any longer to see the western United States. If it weren't for adventurers like you, I wouldn't be able to discover places like this off the beaten path. Unlike SELFISH people like @Steve Wainwright (below) who would rather keep gems like this all to himself. Thanks again!

Will also see if we can drag the popup out to Palo Duro. Never been there, but looks like a winner. Thanks for the great content Jared. The coastal areas of Georgia have lots of bugs. You can't even open your door. They look like cockroaches and bite. Also the mountains are lovely but we were hit by tornados three times in a week. Found out it's a hotbed for tornados.

I camped once in a place called Cloud Croft ,NM. Up the side of a mountain (or really big hill). It was free, and very cool and woodsy. Best primitive camping trip I've ever been on. And on your decent from the mountain, you can see in totality, a salt flat in the distance. I think it was an atomic bomb test site. None the less, totally cool to see from a distance.

Love your videos and your "top five" emails. One minor but important problem most of the posts of the various sites fail to include much if any information regards length of rig that a particular campground can accommodate. I'd encourage subscribers to include this information when they review a camp spot. Our rig is 40 feet not counting the haul truck, so we can't fit just anywhere. Thanks! And, keep up the great work! All this is very useful!

You may or may not be able to get a site the Jim. Since Jared and a hundered other RVers are telling the world about them on youtube Palo Duro is full alot of the time. I use to stay there back in the 70s and you pretty much had your choice in campsites but now everyone is going there year around. Have only been able to get an RV site there once in the last three tries.

Steve Wainwright You CAN reserve a site, can’t you? Or do you mean it’s always so busy you can’t even reserve for a week night, a month or two out? That’s all I’d be interested in, at least our first time out.

Anastasia St Pk is nice but there is some caution. 1. If you schedule a visit during the holidays there is a adjacent outdoor theater that will eliminate any quite time most evenings. 2. The sites that are around the curve on every loop should never had been put in. They are extremely shallow (7-8 feet) unless you use a 2-4 man tent and hope a car, truck or RV sees you in time not to drive over the tent with you and your family in it

Hi K Kates - You can learn more about each campground by visiting www.campendium.com/camping/campers-choice-awards-2018/ and clicking the individual links. People generally write reviews shortly after their stay, so you can gauge seasonality based on that. We generally camp in the southern states in the winter and the northern states in the summer - though watch out for higher elevations!

I watch them happen over and over again in the 55 years I've been camping. You won't be able to take a pic anywhere without an RV in the pic.

@@2cents422 Yep, I been camping since 62 and back before the internet people went on vacation and when the got back they told their friends and relatives about it, and that's as far as it went. But now their tell the world where all these places are and 3 or4 years later that nice place has a camper every 50 feet. Worked at Yellowstone back in 67 at the Old Faithful Lodge. They were averaging about a million and a half people a season. Now they've quadrupled that.
