@@Yes-lv5vj I have a 500L Lounge with 70K Miles now in California and all I did was change the oil and put fuel in it. I love the car. P.S: I always ask my mechanic to take a look at everything that needs to be changed in the car and he, so far, always says that everything else looks great. It sure feels that way. I just wanted to share my experience.

@@amarilispimentel7466 Avoid the unreliable dual-clutch automatic in the early models.. Go for either the manual, or the Aisin (traditional) 6-speed automatic.

I own a 2015 500L trekking model. Almost 40,000 miles and no problems. I think it has a unique appearance, not swoopy or overly styled like many mid level cars. It's fun to drive and very comfortable for long distance drives. Oh, and by the way, it has really big windows that aid visibility immensely. Most cars have tiny little widows that make you feel claustrophobic.

Does it swift to the side on highways when it's windy or when larger,heavier trucks pass you? That's my concern with small cars. They have a tendency to feel too light on the highway. Have u ever encountered this problem in the fiat500L?

@@jewelthompson4210 Not in my experience with this car. It's very stable on the road with little body lean on curves. Maybe in a hurricane, there might be a problem.

I have over 50,000 miles on mine and haven’t had any issues. We’ve gone on long road trips half way across the country in it and found it to be as comfortable as our larger SUV. I really enjoy driving the car and find it both fun and practical.

I own a 2014 trekking with the manual transmission. I love my 500L so spacious inside. Already got mine past the 80,000 miles mark. I Have driven it though CANADA; WA state to ALASKA. Few years later down to WA and back to ALASKA. I even have a tow hitch on it and pull a small utility trailer. ANed to top it off roof crossbars with a cargo basket. Everything i need my awesome 500L can handle. But the one thing I Love the most is how different from everything else it is in term of looks.

I just bought a Fiat 2018 20.700 miles for 13999. Black and I love it.

In Europe we have 500L with fiats twinair engine. 2 cylinders, 875cc, turbo and 105 hp. Not very fast with full load, but very fun! More quirky family cars are needed!

I own 2014 Fiat 500L. Trekking with 125,000 no problems it’s very practical I don’t think it’s beautiful but it’s not ugly either do you guys think the new Toyota Prius is beautiful ? If you say yes you have problems that is the ugliest car ever made also the fiat has plenty of power for a regular drivers

The Prius is all sorts of ugly. Thank goodness they dropped the bathtub white interior for 2019, that was easily the worst car interior available.

Those vehicles are hardly comparable...

I have a 2015 500L Urbana Trekking Panorama model. I love italian design and this is no exception. It does stand out wih its unique quirky squircle design elements and wrap around windows. The Panorama version adds a full glass rooftop that has a retractable sunroof. That's alot of windows which allows adds to the open feeling of the car. Great for enjoying the weather and sightseeing and also adds to the safety with its exceptional visibility. many reviews such as this video fail to mention that not only do the backseats have more than enough from for 2 - 3 adults, but the split rear seats can also lean back that give more headspace and a more relaxed sitting position. The Urbana version has i believe a more attractive front and rear blacked out facia along with blacked out rooftop, side mirrors, and rims. the car handles well for city, has suspension that handles bumps in the road. when you want the power you can either give it some more gas and the turbo charger kicks in. If you want more control over rpms, you can use the automated manual shifter. The Urbana comes with a nice fat leather steering wheel and blacked out interior. My Urbana also has a very loud and enjoyable Beats audio system which has deep rich bass. When I need to haul big items, i enjoy the ability to tumble the seats and enjoy the huge amount of space that is missing in my 500C Abarth. The 500L is very capable and versatile MPV. It has Mopar and other makes to add to its performance and versatily such as upgraded mufflers, roofracks, and hitches, to name a few. the fun factor, italian design, versatility, makes this the perfect car for adults who have families and need to add a 4 door MPV to make life easier and remain stylish.

I’d say the 500 L is a great car especially if bought used and cheap... I’d understand that if you’re buying new and want incredible efficiency that this may not be the car, but I got mine for $7,000 used and it looks brand new so I’d say it was a total steal...

Dang look at all the love for Fiat on this video...I own a 2015 Urbana Trekking model and couldn't be happier with it! It sporty enough, and takes the family around no problem. And if you drive nice on the highway (i.e. not at 80mph) you can achieve some pretty amazing fuel mileage. I averaged 32-34 on a one thousand mile round trip at 75 mph. Sitting at 92k on it now, and it's just getting broken in. There is only one way to drive a fiat, and that is without mercy...you won' t regret it..

I love the 500L - to me it looks classy, it's very practical and fun to drive.

I have a 2019 FIAT 500L Lounge and it is CRAZY comfy, my heated seats are easy for me to find and heat up very fast , & stay on my whole drive. Mine also has a turbo engine so it gets a bit of a kick if I want to take off. I don't get why people hate on FIAT so much...?

I think bashing on the car is not a good idea I’ve had 2 of them and nothing to complain about honestly I really don’t like how the media destroys things what do they expect a Ferrari ?? This is a family car a grocery getter a car to put your stuff and go on a trip to compare it a Toyota Corola or a VW Golf... Wow not fair what I love about this car how unique it is and if you want power theres a few mods you can do I’ve found a company in California that sells them so again I don’t understand why the bashing.. New models get the new 6 speed transmission not a dual clutch transmission .. I think we should be a bit more open minded and don’t let this journalist defer us and make our own decisions..

I like the Fiat 500 l over the other two. It just looks more classy. Don't need the speed and the VW is bland. The Toyota is sporty looking but not classy looking. You sold me the Fiat, but you should dress up a little to do Fiat reviews.

You really can't buy anything for the price and what you get. Even the options are cheap. I like the wide seats, the moonroof, rear seats recline, the navigation, beats audio, xm radio for a year, the heated seats, and FCA offers a Max life warranty. I really don't care about the mpg.

Dude Fiat 500L is really spaceus from behind, you cant compare corolla and 500l in termes of rear seat leg space, there is a lot more space in fiat, personally for that much money i bought fiat tipo instead the 1.9 JTD version with medium package bc it uses the same body as the good old Alpha Romeo 147 (it was my daily driver until i got tipo, and yeah still i own it) Yes i like italian cars !

I love my 500L had it a few years now and it’s soooo cheap to run! Have 7 seats in mine which is handy. Never had a single issue with it and will definitely get another or a 500X when the time comes.

The other 2 are better but not for seating, the 500L has nice wide seats and the rear seats recline. I'm waiting because I like everything on the 500L but I don't like the motor could be better.

Which one motor do you mean? Tjet? Atmospheric or diesels?

A nearby dealership has a 2018 500L for $16,499 after a $4,500 rebate before any haggling. Could probably get it out the door for close to that. That's pretty damned cheap for a new car of any kind.

@@drivingsports Yeah, unpopular model so they appear to be really dealing to get rid of them. Its the base version, but still optioned well. I know it probably has lousy resale, but I generally keep a car 8 to 10 years so it shouldn't matter quite as much. I'm going to check it out tomorrow.

A dealer in Piestany, Slovakia had a nice dark coloured one 1.4tjet Cross with some packets and beats audio for 17500 €. Normally 23k as of catalogue, sth under 20k with discounts. Was also great price. Only minus was as using it as a exhibition car having 4500 km - I mean some drivers dont care, full throttle and full brakes. Still good purchase. I was thinking of it as a work car. Last month in offer, now sold

All the cars recommended at the end of the video are significantly smaller than the 500L. That said, the cars you really want to look at to compare are the Honda HR-V, Jeep Renegade & Compass, etc.

Those are SUVs, this is not. It's a comfortable 4 door hatch

Golf Sport Wagon S w/4mo 6spd or Alltrack S w/6spd. Both can be had for around $25k-26k and just as if not more practical than the "L". Only watching this because a friend has a '13 (yellow) 500L trekking 6spd. It is large on the inside for its size, and fairly quick for only 160hp. My friend also added a pedal commander and when set near the max 7-8-9, the engine revs quickly and the car pulls hard; definitely transforming the driving experience. I prefer the look of the MINI countryman to this. The 500L is just awkward and not quite my cup of tea.

Former owner here. One factor in the 500L's favour is that US dealers will deal HARD on cars that don't sell. You can get one for far less than MSRP.

500 madness has some sweet mods for it, ECM Max power paired with the gopedal, gives it that government limiter feeling removed and like it should feel.

Your alternatives are illogical at best; those cars have less than half the cargo space with seats up (seats up is all that matters).

What would I buy other this fiat? Nothing ! It’s different! That’s the point , it’s a fiat. Didn’t you hear the slogan “ it’s different , it’s unique, it’s fiat.” Why compare this to cookie cutter cars..then you compare it to the most boring car Of them all with a cvt and is even slower than the 500L A FREAKING COROLLA!! Are you serious right now. NO SOUL you want a more normal car , get the 500x. That car is kinda boring and too chrysler like for me. The 500l is completely fiat. Form the engine, trans, and exhaust which you didn’t even touch on. I loved my 2014 fiat500L. One thing they do need is more tech tho.

If Fiat was smart they would put it up against the Toyota CHR or Nissan kick. All garbage vehicles but at least it would fit in there. Sad. To answer your question, I'm just going to state the cars I would take the 500L over, since it's much shorter. I'd take a 500L over a Nissan Versa, Nissan Kicks, and Subaru Crosstrek. That's it. The 500L has a peppier engine and no CVT like the Subaru and Nissan vehicles. Other than that I would take all the competition over the 500L.

Bought the 2014 500L for my Daughter to go to collage has 104,000 miles on it, so far no issues just regular maintenance.She love that car!Yes is an ugly car but reliable.Fixing to buy the 500x for myself.
