    Hey I just got the acerbis tank as well, I like your petcock setup rather than that little plastic Y piece (actually broke on me so I had to rig something else real quick), you by chance have a little part list or something you did to do that?

    I got a 2020 yz250x and my elevation is about 4500 FEET above sea level. What do you think i should go with jetting? Dont really know much about jetting.

    Your bike is clean looking. i also have a yz250x but I'm running the ims 3.2 tank & wider pegs and a whole lot more other mods but where did you find that bar pad GPS setup like that? and love the rear brake snake that's pretty cool never thought of that. I did a light weigh foam between the skid plate and engine to try and keep some vibrations down.

    stock gearing is 14/50. or atleast in the USA it is. i have found that 14/51 is best for eastern hare scrambles. But you need a longer chain to run that gearing. I think a 13 front wears out the chain slider too fast. I love my X, excellent do all bike.

    d nelson yes you are correct 14/50 stock gearing, noticed that after published video. these are great do all bikes really enjoying the light feel compared to my old 450.

    I put a 15 tooth on front and now 1st is very usable in the nasty stuff

    Nancy Blanchard gearing it higher made it better in the nasty stuff? I geared it lower (by swapping the 14 tooth front sprocket to a 13 tooth) and it made it much easier to use first gear in the nasty stuff.

    i am just running off of the cr2032 battery. i have a short video on the computer ( trail tech) mounting on my page. the most time consuming part is the caliper bracket reciever placement which will differ from bike to bike, just make sure it is flat and does not make contact to the magnet on the rotor. hope this helps.

    So if you have a standard yz250, can you just set it up to the same settings as the 250x, or is the x already designed in a way that cant be replicated?

  • @kichaa13

    @kichaa13

    It can be replicated, you need to revalve the suspension and change all the engine parts that are different.

    They are the same yet different, the X has lower compression, softer suspension, wide ratio trans, 18inch rear wheel, different exhaust port timing, different CDI box, side stand, skinner expansion chamber,softer clutch springs

    Look up JD jetting, it's a company based out of Washington state. They make carb needles that make the power pull really hard bottom to top. And it tames down the hit. Their needles also allow you to run a leaner pilot for woods riding. None of the OEM needles even come close to JD'S

    Mike Brown my current # is 155. and currently running a 13/49 gearing. with this setup it is too slow for dessert. stock is fine, bike has plenty of power. I'm looking for the perfect gearing setup for dessert and single track mountain. I will now try 14/51, Wich will require new chain. I ran this ratio on my last bike (2009 yz450f) love'd that bike. should have (road) yz250x before gear change but was in the mood. will have a ride update soon.
