2017 Yokohama World Time Attack Challenge, Sydney Motorsport Park - 13-14 October, 2017

Спорт

Now in it’s seventh year, the Yokohama World Time Attack Challenge is the world’s biggest event for time attack racing. The sport of time attack racing originates in Japan, where tuning houses go all out in its quest for high horsepower and crazy aerodynamics, all leading to that ‘One Perfect Lap.’
The 2017 edition of World Time Attack was the most competitive we’ve seen, as well the most internationally flavoured. Entries spread across Australia, New Zealand, Japan, North America, the UK and even as far as Finland.
The event is also one of the biggest car culture gatherings in Australia, with many exhibitors and show and shine participants taking part in this two day event.

    Maxime Ostiguy I guess it depends where people live. Im in the UK and we have a fair few racetracks not drag strips, where Honda's perform really well at. I think once you've seen them first hand, people learn to respect it a bit more. When the majority of people only see the car park kids then it's no wonder they get a bad name

    Just let us have are moment...lol. yes i/we know it is a F-ing HANDICAP! but this series is letting them shine! This is an open track i.e. ppl getting in 6th gear the top few almost going 200mph! ( 189.5 ) and not even the top class! CLUB SPRINT winner.. not a ff or honda but the winner jordan cox is know for that pass in his eg civic! name looked familiar but had 2 read thee comments 2 remember ! OPEN CLASS winner and the 2015 winner (when i first found them) is a proper eg6 ( not eH3 like my 92 si :/ we pretend tho..) ff/honda and smashed last years time and about 3/4 of a second gap till 2nd place ( das my paybret class ;) flip mo style ) in i feel them most competitive class hence no one yet repeating ;) and would be 2nd in the class above also just losing to a...., PRO AM winner Honda crx a ff and almost 30 year old car and in second place another ff/honda a Fn2 i think...? civic. not to good with the newer engine /chassy codes. Not 2 shabby if u ask me ;)

    why are all the really fast cars so bouncy? you'd think with how much these builds are they can afford quality dampers... or is there more to it than that?

  • @toddxhiggins

    @toddxhiggins

    6 жыл бұрын

    you really think theyd be running low quality dampers? haha the df levels the cars are making is insane and have to catered for so thats usually why youll see them bouncing around on the lower speed corners. Thats the trade off from such high spring rates. The most settled pro level car was the rp968 and it went with an active suspension system this year so that might be something that becomes more common next year

  • @boblast5582

    @boblast5582

    6 жыл бұрын

    no I don't really think they're running crappy dampers, but with some of the cars being as bouncy as they are... idk... MCA car seams especially bouncy... F1 cars also have insane DF and you don't see them bouncing all over the place, but I guess F1 cars have heave springs and thats not really an option on a production chassis. but look at the MCA car for example, as it goes down the front straight at high speed, still bouncing around a lot...
