2017 Suzuki GSX-R1000 First Test: bit.ly/GSX-R1000-Review

Despite all that, the GSXR is priced like how last gen's liter bikes were priced, for a hell of a lot more bike.

Thanks my friend - I appreciate your comments.
Great review, as always, Adam! Like others have said, it is great to hear your honest and candid comments, making viewers aware of the strengths and weaknesses of the bike, etc. I will be looking forward to the comparison tests like the shootouts you have done in the past. Hopefully, the GSX-R1000R will be available for that. I will definitely stay tuned for more from Riders Doman!

yayyyyy! Adam Waheed +riders domain so happy to see yu again. Just emailed motorcycle-USA.com asking what happened to KZread channel
was it this year they made it 999cc and about 200hp or was it 2018 model
Do you think it feels less punchy at the tip end due to the VVT system in it? Having more torque in the mid range can make it feel like there's less top end.

Good question - The GSX-R1000's engine definitely has some beans up top and is peppier than the last iteration-- don't get me wrong. I was just expecting more ballistic power. The VVT is actually an ingenious solution for mid-range performance. I was surprised by how much 'oomph it had at lower rpm which is perfect for street riding.

Is it possible you rode the restricted U.S version? Those are only putting down 153 whp since Suzuki clipped the top end power for EPA sound restrictions. EU bikes are 174-183 whp stock supposedly.
I think you may enjoy the 1000R a little more. That review is done on their base model or the ABS model. It's nice to know how it will handle under pressure, but what about in rush hour traffic or down the local twisties? It's hard to get a sense of what the bike is really like if you aren't a professional on a track. Doesn't mean much to me.

Hi - yes this was the $14,599 base non-ABS US model.

I know, that price is pretty good! You guys should do a "real road" review some time. I hear that it's supposed to really pull at low speeds. I enjoy seeing you all tear up a track, but when I'm looking for a good review of how every day riding will be, nothing.

Yes sir - we have one coming soon for road riders specifically.... Adam

Excellent. Thanks. As soon as the "R" model hits the dealership. I'm getting a leg over and seeing what it's all about.
which is better? the new cbr or this one
@RidersDomain

We haven't ridden the CBR1000RR 2017 model so it's hard to say. This GSX-R will likely be quicker in terms of straight-line speed, but the Honda will be lighter and more agile feeling.
why not try GSX R1000R
I got it.. pulls hard but the set valve makes lots of noise... it rattles
@AdamWaheed

It makes a different noise now for sure.
