I've had mine for 8 months and love it. I don't like the exposure of a full convertible, so the RF is perfect for me. Club - automatic.

Bought a red, '17 RF used, off a lease, 16K miles, $23K. This is my favorite car ever - and I've had many, including a 60s Triumph roadster and 70s Opel GT. I get stares everywhere, I get 32+ mpg city/hwy, and drive it mostly with the top stowed. Reminds me a little of the old GTs, the mini vettes. I pulled up next to a newer model red Corvette the other day - looked like the papa car to mine! It's automatic, but with Sport option and Manual option, plus paddles. Couple annoyances: CD player is inconvenient, cup holders don't hold much variety and are placed oddly, no decent glove box/storage. Given all the rest, I can certainly live with those buggers. Zoom Zoom.

Thank you for this excellent review! I can't wait to own one myself. Side note: buttresses are only flying if they have a pass-through such as with the new ford GT or Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano.

You said you felt they should just get rid of the powered retractable hardtop... I’m confused - I thought they had. Are they offering it in North America, still? If so, where could it be found?

IdiotF0ol You’re correct. The retractable hardtop was only available on the third generation MX-5, the version that preceded this. You’re choices today are soft top or this RF (retractable fastback).

Why do they have to keep making the Miata bigger? The only reason why a lot of people liked it was because of its small sporty feel.

Um, if by "bigger" you mean smaller. The current version is actually an inch shorter in length than the first generation Miata from 1990.

+buckjohnson The height is the same but it's 2 inches wider. The length however is one inch shorter.

A two inch wider track should only make it more sporty with improved handling. I think we're making the same argument - for a model that's approaching 30 yrs old, it's basically the same size now with the ND version. Especially when most cars get generation-bloat over the years.

+buckjohnson Maybe it's just my eyes but it looks bigger to me.
