2017 Honda VFR800X Crossrunner Review
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
The VFR800X Crossrunner is Honda’s take in the upright-position sport touring class. Although a pioneer in the segment - the first VFR800X appeared in 2011 - Honda didn’t come up with so many updates.
Yes, it still has that iconic V4 engine and good build quality. But is the VFR800X Crossrunner still able to impress, considering the fact that it has some fierce rivals like Yamaha Tracer 900, Triumph Tiger 800 and Ducati Multistrada 950? We took a 2017 my VFR800X out to find out.

Looks good with all the accessories and that sound is sweet !
Great video as always!
Honestly, you guys are a rare slice of quality. So many others will waste lots of time talking about numbers which we can easily look up ourselves. Also very much enjoy you getting out and about in Europe. Great stuff!
Excellent review and channel!
Excellent review. I really enjoy your videos - top notch production values.

Always great videos
Nice review! V4s aren´t about max hp... VFR´s are made to make a ride especial, an engine with character and that last forever! It put´s a smile on my face every time I ride mine 😃

If you like exotic engines, you should take a look at the Suzuki RE-5. :)

@@worldhello1234 I think they are not on the same page. Although the Suzuki may have a very exotic engine, the VFR has a modern and usefull engine on the day to day.
great review - thanks!
Nice review. Good job 😀
Nice review. Got my like.
...your vids are getting really high quality and I am finding myself wishing they were a bit longer so I could enjoy longer... I'm happy with my R1200GS but it is good to see Honda making a quality attempt at a road only ADV bike... Great presentation! BTW, was wondering at the Clover ADV suit you had on?
very nice and amazing sound!

Just viewed this. A Good review. .... but.. how did you get the bike to stand up in the sand? at the end.
This bike was just too top heavy for me. Swopped it for Street Triple RS and loving it :)
Beautiful bike ....is it comfy bon long rides ..how's that seat
Hi, thanks for the video. I'm still trying to find out if engine heat is a problem on the Crossrunner, especially in traffic. I can't find much information on the internet. Have Honda resolved the problem? I remember a friend having a vfr many years ago and his eggs were always cooked whenever he rode in town.

03:26 man that's an excellent soundtrack. Anyone know the name of it or who made it? Hope it's not original work for the review :P.
Greetings from the U.S. Great review and thanks for sharing! Your English is excellent! I've always admired the VFR800X but it's never been made available in America :-( So, I tested a FJ-09 (Tracer 900) and a 2015 Versys 650 LT. I ended up buying the Versys. I still admire that VFR but the Versys is probably a WHOLE lot easier to work on (engine-wise) and the Versys is lots of fun!! Like a big bmx bike :-D Ha ha! Take care guys.

@@rockafella1690 Exactly! I rode my FJ09 to Alaska and could not even imagine it on the versys 650, possible of course.

Rogelio Degino no this crossrunner is a 100% road bike. The vfr 1200 crosstourer has the spoked wheels with a larger front and thinner tyre sizes and longer travel suspension making a great all purpose bike for touring with off road capabilities.
I am juggling between this one and 2017 v strom 650 xt, which one would you prefer?

I have one question for u sir...!! Is the Honda VFR800X CROSSRUNNER for adventure touring???
@shambu2012
6 жыл бұрын
no, Crostourer more fits for that...
Another fine motorcycle from Honda NOT available in the USA, instead we get its neutered brother the NC750X... I don't know who's in charge at honda USA but they are not riders themselves. I'm growing old waiting for the CB1300 and now the VFR800X we'll likely never see.
Bike sounds lovely. Currently scouting out reviews to see how this compares with a bmw f800 gs or one that is around £4500-5000 prices 2019

@@DriveMagRiders merci! Am un versys 2011 si vreau ceva mai mare, mi-e greu sa ma decid intre mt09 tracer si aceasta de mai sus. Nu detine nimeni in zona mea niciunul dintre aceste modele...
I sat on a 2014 interceptor 800 and I don't know about the riding position you're feet go way back and my legs felt a little smashed up, still not as bad as the 600rr I couldn't even fit on that or I would just buy that and I don't want a liter bike so what else is there maybe I'll get this crossrunner thing it looks more comfortable, not as cool looking but less attention from cops on this bike

It looks a lot like my NC700x but with a much better motor. I wish they would sell these in the U.S. withe DCT transmission. I don’t love the parallel twin on mine.
WHY in the world doesn't Honda bring this bike to North America???

Can't hear anything he says at the beginning because of the loud music. Then can't hear anything because of the poor mic quality + music on top of it...
Well then - outdated bike. KTM 790 Adventure has about same power, but cheaper and lighter. So, yes Honda still has their Africa Twin but that one is also about to get absolete. And the Tracer 900 is still better by all means.
