It's like he didn't even remember how the Scrambler Icon rode. This bike has has all the same characteristics as the base Scrambler model. I hope he updates his dialogue and be more consistent on bike descriptions across bike platforms.

The bars are high and the foot brake is low because it's meant to be ridden stood up off road, on the trails. Very nice looking bike that....... would have been better if it was more torquey.

The brake is low because it was not adjusted. When riding off road, no, you don't want to have to angle your feet downward too much and risk slipping on the pegs.

great review as always-been waiting for you to get on this. funny: i have a WR250x and a 72 CB750, and have been lusting after this one as a kind of fusion of what i love about both bikes. being able to tool around town, hit the twisties, weave around on a highway, and then hit a trail or two-sounded like the dream. but my impression after riding this last week was really similar-it just didn't quite blow my WR away like i thought it would, and i found myself craving more of that grin-inducing power. of something. still can't put my finger on it. that said, it's a pretty killer all around bike.

My wife and I own Scramblers (I have the Icon version of what you're riding in this video and she owns the Sixty2). We take them EVERYWHERE; for example, we just finished 800 miles from Los Angeles, up through a section of California called the Carrizo Plain to the Central Coast, and back down Hwy 1 back to LA. In EVERY condition, both bikes performed way above expectations - especially on the dirt roads we had no idea we were going to encounter. In fact, I love the bike and it's versatile enough that I parted with my trusty, old 2004 Vstrom 1000. For what you outlined as your wish list, this will fit the bill.

I heard they may have changed the mapping to be a little less aggressive and that they changed the throttle cam on them to smooth out the throttle because it was too jerky before. I have an original Icon and it had a little too much aggressive torque for me at first so I actually put a throttle tamer on it. Might try to get an in between cam soon.
