Thanks for mentioning it's the Holden Commodore from Australia. The Commodore was built between 1979 to 2017 in Australia. After that for a few years it was imported from Opel Germany, but was discontinued after Holden was completely discontinued as a company. Thanks GM.

I've actually had this real life experience. A California Highway Patrol was spinning donuts in his Crown Vic for like five minutes in a Bed, Bath, and Beyond parking lot at 2am. I was like... did someone steal that and they're joyriding it now? So I called the local PD to come out and take a peak. Turns out the CHP had a ride along with him and just wanted to show off for his butt buddy. Always kinda pissed me off actually because we all know that if that same CHP caught a private citizen doing the exact same thing in the exact same place, they'd likely arrest them and tow their car. CHP isn't exactly known for being generous with citations. But because he's a state employee he gets to be impervious to the very law he enforces on everyone else? Seems legit.

In 24 years of service, this was my favorite cruiser. It was never in full use by many police departments so the public don’t readily recognize it as such. The ones we had had utilized the center console shifter. The best way to describe it is a four door corvette.

I own one of these in Australia; a '17 Holden Caprice WN Series 2 with the 6.2L LS3 under the hood. Over here they were sold as a luxury sports limo (the cops used the shorter-wheelbase SS Commodores for pursuit vehicles) and were fitted out with full leather & suede interior and all the bells & whistles and options technology-wise. As a daily driver it's a big & comfortable lazy land yacht cruising around town however when you plant your right foot it immediately transforms [as you rightly said] into a 4-door Corvette with all it's snarling, neck-snapping LS3 V8 goodness.

@@htowndct832 the gearing in my impala ss had it in 4 cylinder mode at 120. I believe it usually hits 100 in 2nd gear if wot. Either way though 4th gear lockout disables it. Even with deactivation with a tune the lifters can still fail and chew the camshaft up.

Now you can go to a drive-thru and wonder if your food has been spit in, like a real cop.

I owned 4 of these in the Middle East, and I had a Lumina LTZ built from Holden as well. Such amazing, comfortable, spacious and powerful cars. They are so extremely popular there, with the majority favoring Caprices over Ford Crown Vic's.

My biggest LE pet peeve was always seeing folks drive around with the spotlight facing forward, up, sideways or backwards. I always keep them facing the windshield to avoid weathering/chips and damage. And the handle stays horizontal so you can see.

Nothing I want more than this. Rock solid, can take a beating, fast, lots of torque, 4 doors, RWD, and no unnecessary features inside.

I own a 2017 Caprice in Australia. Over here they built to limo luxury level. Every available option. I love it.

In KSA this car is called Caprice, it comes with a 6.0 litre engine naturally aspirated. It's a pretty good car for tuning lol.

When you wanna commute home real quick just hit the lights lmao

I had a 95 Caprice 9C1 way back when. It was pretty fun, not super fast but people would get out of the way for the most part.

My dad let me test drive his patrol unit just like this one. Hard to believe, it was the fastest and most smoothest vehicle that I’ve ever driven. 🚔💙🚨

7:20 You can adjust the spotlight to get the black handle part to go up and against the A-pillar more. Not much you can do about the chrome part sticking out but at least you could of gotten the handle out of your FOV.

These are gone as well. They stopped making them the same time they stopped making the Holden Commodore as they were made in the same factory.

Chevy caprice is a legendary car in Saudi Arabia.. everyone respect it ❤

I have a 2013 impala ppv and I love it. It doesn't have any lights on it or anything (those were removed before I bought it) and I capped off the antenna ports, so other than a couple little things that give it away if you look close, it just looks like a normal impala. Such a sleeper and they're cheap too!

almost went with an impala, ended up getting an awd 13 interceptor sedan(taurus). Here's a 0-60 with just a tune and cai (did ported intakes after video) kzread.info/dash/bejne/gXl-lbmOmrq4m5M.html but more and more I'm thinking about selling this and getting the 6.0 caprice as there's some pretty sweet builds out there and I love v8's n rwd.

In Australia thus is known as a Holden Statesman Caprice. These were exported to the US from Australia.

The caprice is always my fav car

The impala ppv's have a 3.6 liter v6 camaro motor with over 300 hp and get almost 40mpg. Basically an impala ss with better gas milage lol

@@REDW1NG94 My uncle has an ATS4 3.6 and i think its the same engine used in the V6 Caprice. very good engine, i drove that ATS 400 miles at 75mph and averaged 23.4 mpg.

It's crazy that those cars don't look very intimidating like the real Caprice or Ford Crown Victoria, but they sure as heck outperform them and even the current Dodge Charger cop cars thanks to that unusual engine!

I’ve always wanted one of these but I heard these cars have massive problems with their cams going out. These cars have cylinder deactivation, so when the car is idling, it is only running 4 cylinders, and cops idle a lot! This somehow works the cams hard from what I heard and usually these engines will need a new cam by 90k miles, that’s if it was an actual police car and used like one. And it just happens that these cars usually go on sale a lot with about 80k-100k miles.

This car we have in the Middle East, they use it in drifting or what we call it hajwallah 🤣👌👌👌

The interiors of these are so bare bones compared to the Holden caprice WN’s here. Almost luxury cars here. The WN models here have the 6.2l v8s. Love to see you’re review. In AUS there a little to no reviews and they are quite expensive here.

Is there a list of mods that was done to this? I know there's the supercharger but am curious if it was just tuned too or did they have to go with a different fuel injector and fuel pump and I imagine they did the displacement on demand delete too. I definitely enjoy the modified exhaust with the stock mufflers, love the v8 sound without the droning annoyance!

Not sure about unbreakable, But it is a fun car. I love my ppv.
