abso-freaking-lutely!! 4/5/19 & this random dude is watching fr his desk at work in Vegas...and beyond blown-away by this show... (have been all week) & why not... "Tony here - Cadets Drum Line Video Series..."

Seeing this show live, I'm glad they used real singers and not just audio recordings like so many other Corps!

I'll be watching this through tears today.... farewell Cadets - your excellence was reliable & undeniable.

God, I love this show so much. Super underrated.

Was so excited when this show was first announced. Then I saw an early season run and I started to doubt the wisdom of this approach. But then . . . it grew and evolved into this beautiful production. The only thing I miss about the final version is the second "LET US PRAY!" I loved how that moment sort of paid homage to the spirit of the original piece, but that's nit picking really. Excellent job Cadets!

That trombone feature is so badass.

Definitely one of the biggest intra-year improvements I've seen in a drum corps. It's a well crafted program. Btw I think they were laughing at how the cross kinda fell apart at the very end on the last note.

Leonard Bernstein's Mass is very sadly a forgotten and or neglected work. Glad the Cadets did this wonderful production utilizing the work. The main message to be taken from his Mass is greatly misunderstood...

They really improved their show design from the pre-season. The new ending is powerful. I can wade through all the religious elements and still enjoy this show for its creative and classic cadets-y design and writing. Bernstein is also great too

I'm just glad they moved "The Mass has ended! Go in peace!" To right at the end essentially. I feel like it's much more powerful there, that's just my two cents though.

Hey so what's the deal with the tuba guy running in from the back left of the field at around 0:25. He just runs in and gets perfectly in his spot, was he like late to rehearsal or is that just someone who was late for church

I believe it's meant to be someone being late to church since you see the same person doing the same thing during every other performance. It's very much on purpose

it's a good show - the biggest "strategic" mistake made was continue to make changes and additions right until the end - with a younger corps in 2017 it would have probably been better to just clean clean clean the final 2 weeks. The final changes were mostly "so-so" and the corps never got "Cadets clean" which I feel hurt them in the eyes of the judges. JMO. It was still a good show and watching the young corps grow all season was fun

Honey, their placement had nothing to do with how "clean" they were. The staging was muddy, confusing, and didn't capture the high stakes anti-establishment feel of the original. Also, when you massively change a show every week for 16 weeks in the season, it's clear to the judges that you have no clear intention.

@@jesuspectre9883 This. Exactly. But this show was so much better at its first show than at finals from a design standpoint. Hopkins was the worst thing for the Cadets. He lost his touch and couldn’t adapt to the changing environment yet he kept implementing stupid changes. This show had a chance to do better competitively until George completely ruined it. Hot mess by seasons end.

Great show. Just wish the singers were switched out with like a few trumpet or mellophone or whatever soloist. Just not really digging the singing but that's my opinion.

9:20 Some of the early versions of this shit storm were hilarious. This is where they used to take the crosses and throw them on the ground. In this later version, it was changed so that they held the crosses and fell to the ground. I wonder who complained.

What a mess

12:40 Visually, the double flags and large silks do not complement each other here. It looks uneven and uncoordinated.

Call me old fashion, but I prefer PURE DCI, not Cadets Drum and Choir Corps. Visually the Angus Dei in 1990 inspires the audience to incorporate its imagination. I.E. When the group of guard places the headpieces on, the modern uniforms vanished in my mind and I saw nuns. That is brilliant versus 2017 which is literally all in your face interpreting for you with some odd aesthetics. The show has improved significantly but it's not a champion top placements show. The subject matter is very subjective thus a suicide versus a bold with their interpretation, and they have wasted so much money to make so many edits this season. Good luck Cadets regardless! Students are doing very well with what they have. The trumpet soloist closer to the end has a great tone quality. Cadets needs help developing low-brass and balancing their over-all sound. A bottom heavy corps sounds more powerful.
