2017 Buick LaCrosse Quick Drive | Consumer Reports

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Buick looks to attract newer, and possibly younger, buyers with the LaCrosse. The flagship sedan enjoys new outward styling and a quiet ride. However, advanced safety gear is not available on all trim levels.

I purchased a fully loaded 2017 Lacrosse with the premium trim level and couldn't be happier. I absolutely love the way it rides and handles, especially with the sport setting on. It has so many options I'm having a blast learning them all. It is by far the quietest, best riding, and best driving car I have ever owned. It handles like a dream on any road I’ve throw at it, has plenty of power, gets excellent gas mileage and is super comfortable on long trips. And I think it is the most stylish car on the market, not gaudy but sophisticated in its looks and styling. I tested a number of competitive models from Lexus, Kia, Hyundai, Nissan, Acura, BMW and Lincoln and they just didn't compare to this car on features for the price and in many other ways. Anyone wanting a luxurious, quiet, great handling car, with plenty of power may want to take a look at the Lacrosse!

I agree. The reason that reverse is a dogleg is so that people don't accidently put the car into reverse. And all you do is push up and to the left. Is that really so difficult?

+ssr1680 Agreed, as AWD is also more than likely why the LeCrosse's ride quality over bumps was considered harsh in the review.

  • @jeffdunham9981

It is the optional 20" wheels on their test vehicle that transmit harshness - not the AWD. The standard wheels are 18". You can order the vehicle with "magnetic ride" and more traditional 18" wheels - this is true for both FWD and AWD. This is the "hot ticket" for me - more quiet supple ride with state of the art "ride control".

I saw a video by the chief engineer on la crosse for reasons behind going to this new shifter. Part of the reason was to free up space on the console - which CR notes; But there is another reason. By going away from a mechanical shifter - it no longer has a cable running through the firewall - no hole through firewall and no cable to transmit vibration into the cabin.
