That's really impressive for such a small car, no wonder it got 5 stars with the safety pack. High tensile steel really is paying off in terms of safety, this is a super light car, yet it is really safe as well. Good job, Suzuki.

@@thatrandomchad I"ve been to India, in fact I used to live there. No offence, but the build quality and particularly the safety ratings of Maruti-Suzuki products is nowhere near what would be considered acceptable in the Japanese and EU markets. That beings said, they did sell the Maruti Baleno here for a while as a Suzuki, but it never caught on.
Wow..no crack or damage on the front wind shield at front impact. At least thats what i saw in the video. Good structural integrity. 👍
Suzuki have done an amazing job with this car, it would appear to be a very safe car for its occupants, which is quite remarkable considering how small and light it is. Pedestrian safety is very good too in the top of the range car.
Maruti has no balls to build the Indian version with all these bells and whistles.

Make all cars safe with all safety features and see less cars on road. Indian people wont afford. India has very low per capita income. So Indians would avoid cars and rather buy 2 wheelers which is very unsafe.

@@saffron83101 Bro if Maruti gets this car with more budget...it will go around 12-15 lacs And even if Tata Tiago goes to EURO NCAP it will score between 1-3 stars It lacks the features that are shown in this video of Ignis crash test This Euro NCAP is more tough then Global NCAP

That's very impressive - the windscreen glass is intact in all but the very brutal pole side impact test. My septuagenarian parents need a newer car, this one looks very good for them.

one thing you have to consider is that they use lower quality material in indian version cars to lower cost because there is no quality standard fixed in india.

Until now India did not have any mandated safety standards. BNVSAP (Bharat New Vehicle Safety Assessment Program) will be mandatory from 2017 and car makers will be forced to upgrade; as well as customers will have to pay higher prices if the companies themselves do not absorb it.

Well we can't expect the companies to bear the price. At least when such standards are enforced, lesser fatalities on roads. I wish such standards come to our roads as well. I see roads which are laid recently but are wavy. Not flat :(

i had own ignis since 2018. 2 years drive 55.000 km. good full consumption 16 km/ L . cheap service maintanance, half toyota city car Agya/ Ayla. Good acceleration with manual mode AGS transmition.
Veery impressive. The windshield didn't even crack with offset crash at 60kmh with such as small car!

NCAP should test the Ignis sold in India at least in the front collision crash test. Maruti may have provided airbags across all the variants but I doubt its structural integrity. Same goes for Baleno.

I survived a head on crash and toppling in a Baleno. Structural integrity was maintained.

Cars that got 5 stars without safety pack is considered safe. Most of the car manufacturs are getting 5 stars nowdays.

Here in Indonesia we don't get the safety package, heck even the most expensive model. Perhaps Suzuki here thinks that pedestrian lives don't matter, you just go to jail after hitting them.

the "safety pack" stands for the automatic brake assists, prior to that systems this car would have gotten the 5 stars, but nowdays a 5 star car can get only 3 stars at best without a emergency brake assist....
It should be essential for any car to go for safety test before launching them in the market in India
looks pretty ok besides that side pole crash at 32kmph ...whats the performance of TATA Tiago in this category ??

It was 3 star and that too not indian version. This had side airbags. Maruthi has never provided airbags in the side. Even if you are willing to pay.

Well, I don't know exactly what that means for my safety - but I love this little fella! Got the 4wd version - it's fun to drive, the acceleration is reasonable and boy is it fun in corners (especially when it's losing and regaining grip)! Not a single time have I felt insecure in that car. Also, it may look a little strange at first, but it has personality and its growing more on me every day.
1:30 no roof damage atall. Amazing . Hope some indian cars have such strong build quality.

It would have. Coz the car did not cross the line of walking of pedestrian. Even if it had hit the pedestrian, it would have just thrown him off balance and nothing serious than that.

I think it may have something to do with lack of safety features like lane assist etc. Though I feel driving should still come down to the driver in most instances haha.

This is the effort only to show safety is provided by Maruti Suzuki but in reality its completely different, vitara brezza scored 4 stars in ncap crash test but if u go and search KZread u will find thousands of videos where maruti suzuki failed to maintain tht build quality in their production cars and people have lost their life who owned vitara brezza

@M@verick... Good when compared to Nano pretty bad when compared with POLO/ Punto/i20.. Kerb weight of jus around 860kgs is around 25% lesser than Elite i20 weighing around 1200kgs...Maruti thinks life of Indians r pretty cheap 😢😢😢
