    First of all, amazing review like always, probably the only reviewer who successfully answer what's so new about the Dawn. To answer to your question I think RR needs to continue its appeal to a younger generation of owners. Nowadays 4 door coupes are in among the young money (Panamera, S/RS 7, CLS etc...). I think RR needs to make a sporty 4 dr coupe based on the Wraith/Ghost, with the same emphasis on luxury as the two but with a little bit more sportiness in mind.

    Great review, big fan of Bentley's and Porsche(new to RR). Do like the details in your reviews. Complete, is the word that comes to mind. 2 questions for you...? 1) when is the new gt out? and is it a new facelift 2017? 2) which would you buy and why..... a Bentley Continental GT Speed 2017 or a Rolls Royce Wraith Black badge 2017?

    Gorgeous … simply put. I think a Rolls-Royce Limousine would fit right in with the brand. I know the Phantom LWB could count as one, but I mean even longer … similar to the Mercedes-Maybach Pullman & the Bentley Mulsanne Grand Limousine Mulliner, but more Rolls-Roycey … basically a Private Jet on wheels. My closet experience with a Rolls is the guy at Rolls Royce Jeddah unlocked a Waterspeed collection Phantom Drophead & let me take photos of its interior…. (only 36 cars were made!) As for the What Do You Do For Living? According to RR, the average Rolls buyer have more than 35 millions on his bank account. The MPG thing is ridiculous though, who cares! As always, excellent work M!

    To answer your question: I think there could be a market for a limited run of special bodied Wraiths or even Phantoms. Bentley did a similar thing with Zagato and Rolls did the Camargue with Pininfarina, back in the 70s. Something more outstanding and glamourous than what's currently available. I can only hope they stay away from SUVs. I'm a Dutchie btw, but I live in Lisbon, Portugal.

    Remember the Camrague very well - was understated but a clean design for back in the day . . . Aston is looking to continue that Zagato tradition as they displayed at Villa d'Este this year. Good comment . . . Thank you.

    How about a AWD electric version with some 21 century styling details. An interior style similar to the approach of Pagani Huayra. The polished / brushed aluminium or metal, touch of carbon, liberal use of leather. A sprinkling of LED displays and the torque & silence of electric drive. Just a thought :-)

    To answer you Q I would really would love to see a Rolls Royce SUV-ish car. I'm from Vermont and I love take a Sunday drives don't get me wrong. But I do find my self on back roads in my Toyota Tundra, so I think a RR with a higher ground clearance and awd/4x4 would be nice. I think with RR it would need a new platform and right now that's just not going to happen. But God it would be nice. Tell me what you think Moto man I'd love to get your opinion. 👍

    Just find it interesting that you always point out when a torque plateau begins at below 2000rpm (comically low). To me, 19 years old, this turbo engine behaviour is the norm. Frankly I'd be more impressed if I found a torque peak at 5500rpm because then it would have all of its powerband near the top. Maybe not good for street use but it would certainly feel more like an old Ferrari engine.

    I feel an electric Rolls Royce that slots into the mid size car category would be phenomenal. If done similar to the Model S Tesla it would afford Rolls Royce to make a spacious and powerful car in a smaller footprint. It would also give them the opportunity to create a more modern styled car but with more restraint than its parent company, Bmw, had with the rather garish i-series. I live in the small yet rather wealthy city of Sarasota, Florida. Busy streets strapped for parking galore. A place where the compact/ mid size luxury car reigns supreme.

  • @juanmj93

    @juanmj93

    8 жыл бұрын

    They already have quite heavy drivetrains, and new architectures inside their parent groups will allow the batteries to be integrated into the main frame of the chassis, yes, weight might go up a bit but the center of gravity would go down. A couple new materials here and there and... I don't think it is much of a penalty for such big cars.

    I'm not a fan of the RR design language (not sure they really have one), their interiors are spectacular, but no interest in them. That said if Rolls made something like the Morgan Aero Coupe, a classic big sports car with fenders and lots of style, I think they might recapture a larger audience. I have no ideas about their financials, but I don't see Rollers anywhere near as often Bentleys. They may not want to increase their volume for all I know.

    I'm so sick of Rolls Royce, they're way too conservative. I'd be interested to see how many people buy this for the status rather than the actual design itself. To me this is the Hummer of the luxury car market. The chrome lining around the rear lights is one of the ugliest designs I have ever seen on a car. It looks really outdated. But no worries, I have nowhere near enough money to buy this car, so at the end of the day I don't know why it's bothering me so much!
