That circular area behind the shifter and in front of the center armrest/storage is where the 4WD Button goes when so equipped.

Styling is great! I was surprised when I saw it in person. Good on Mitsu for not stripping down the aesthetics on lower trims aside from the side door mirrors on the ES that are not body-colored. SE trim is probably the best pick of the range but ES is super nice for the price IMO. Seems like a really good value in comparison to other 7 passenger vehicles.

Ok, we have just put 4700 miles on our 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander ES 4 cyl 2WD. We had an 8 passenger 2006 Sienna Van, the underside became damaged on our Sienna. But I wasn't quite ready to get back into another Sienna after rack and pinion steering leak at 50K miles, an electric door hinge problem, 19 mpg avg, and chronic edge wear of the tires. The Sienna would only like Michelins, it chewed thru other brands and alignment was spot on. We also looked a Subaru, and the Highlander and Honda stuff. I spent months looking at new & used. The 2016 Outlander was the ONLY vehicle which had 3rd row seating, a decent tow capacity for small trailers, 30 mpg or better gas milage. Outstanding warranty. This CVT transmission is very smooth. This has a timing chain engine instead of a timing belt engine. ( Visit www.agcoauto.com/content/List_Of_Interference_Engines ) Not buying any more vehicles with timing belts. This 2016 is much improved over the 2015, as I drove a 2015 model. Also I wanted higher ground clearance this time. The Sienna was too low for ground clearance. I just completed a 900 mile trip LOADED. We averaged 32 mpg. I filled the tank twice. My wife likes it, she won't let me drive it much. City I'm getting 27- 28 mpg. I REALLY started looking at these Outlanders when I found out my father-in-law in Mexico actually had a Mitsubishi for the last 11 years. They beat theirs and abuse it. They drive theirs all over the country. He told my wife he would buy another. I know he is hard on vehicles. That REALLY , and I mean REALLY got my attention. My wife's relative down their owns a Meineke repair franchise. He says the Mistubishi vehicles without the turbo are reliable. Plus I never remembered seeing a Mitsubishi broken down on the side of the road, anywhere. I'm always looking for what vehicles are being towed by a rope or on the back of a tow truck. I just saw my father-in-laws Mitsubishi last week, it is an old Outlander but much smaller. They also have a Sienna Van the Mexico version. Our Outlander is comfortable for trips, and I really like the 100,000 mile warranty on the drive train. Also the factory includes 5 years of roadside assistance / towing !! So, this vehicle fits my needs and was $10,000 less (at least) than a Sienna. No problem, I just had U Haul install a hitch for about $380. I bought a slide-in cargo basket for trips & bulky stuff. Probably will save $1300 a year in fuel cost over the Sienna. The headlights ARE excellent , and the windshield glare (if any) was unnoticable to me The glare totally disappeared off the windshield after I put on my polarized sun glasses ! The negative: Headroom could be 8 inches higher, especially in the rear. Our model has a keyed ignition (I will never buy keyless ignition) the rear cargo lacks a hook to hang clothes, we wish there was a 12v receptacle in the cargo area. At night, the door switches are poorly lighted. Also the ES lacks a roof rack. Really wanted a roof rack. The 3rd row seat is for someone under 5' 7". I know as I put my 16 year old son there. We had at adjust the 2nd row seats a bit but he didn't complain much. I much we drove 400+ miles in one day. I think for additional trips we will use the hitch and attach a cargo basket (those can hold 500 pounds) Tony www.globalmedicalplans.com/

Can you start the vehicle & lock the 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander with the Key away from the vehicle..to allow the vehicle to cool off before you get in as well as secure it during the winter months when you need to defrost the windows..?

So, in your opinion, would this make for a good family hauler. My cousin had a 2000 Montero Sport and that was her hauler for her family. Would this be a good successor to the Montero Sport?

I have a 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander SE. Question: Are there lights behind the Shifter normally? There is no light on/behind the shifter that I can see, UNLESS there is but a fuse is burnt out.

What's the torque like on this ?

How you liking it so far? At what mileages you got it at? We plan on getting the same soon, 2016 SE, with 80k. Any work done on yours after owning it, like issue? I was wondering if the factory warranty still on it because I look the power train is 7 years/100,000, or something like that. Have a good day

When you fold down the 3rd row seats can you still roll back and recline the 2nd row all the way back? or does it have to be pushed up?

You can roll it back but there is a limit to how much it can recline.

I live in El Paso. A/C is very strong without taking power away from the car. Cools in a couple minutes.

Do you know on normal CVT mode , how much does the engine rev when u cruise it on 120 km/h?

+chili pom pom ... I got mine last couple of weeks.... at 110km/h the engine is doing about 2100rpm on an average. Since this is a CVT, that figures fluctuate between 1900 - 2300 rpm (110km/h).

I'm thinking of getting myself one although driving it at high km/h seems to be dangerous because of CVT overheat... i've heard of accident occurring because of that. Should it be something to worrry about?

It comes down from the ceiling, and detaches when you want to fold the 2nd row.

That front looks ugly and the interior is so cheap looking.They just put a plug over the ignition looks so cheap

WATCH OUT FOR LEMON & POOR CVT Outlander. Bought new 2017 Model 4cyl in Jan 2018, had first transmission removal around 4300 miles. Engine Oil leaked through CVT torque convertor area. Same problem kept happen within 3000 miles range, Lemon lawsuit case filed and still waiting for anything from Mitsubishi. 10yr / 100000 miles Powertrain warrenty does not cover 100% for this matter. Luckily my bumper to bumper covered those issues.
