Hobby....Hobby this is not a hobby. It's like saying playing Madden on the Xbox is a hobby. I don't think these guys do this on the weekends like they are making clay pots. They put real time into this and learn the game it's like ping pong or chess it's a sport. They fine tune they're players and have to put in educated formations into play. But hey if this is a hobby so be it. But these guys are coaches

Wow. I used to play NFL Super Bowl Steelers vs Rams way back in the days. Then ordered all the other NFL teams over time. Once i found the Tudor warehouse downtown brooklyn, ny, i was there every other week. Didn't know this still existed.

My friend had one of these back in the 70s. We played it religiously every weekend until the motor died. We were heart broken. And later, his younger sister fell on it and bent it. He had only two teams: the Steelers in both black and white jerseys. Since it was his, I played the white jersey team. Those were the days man.

My brother and I got our game in 1980. Most of us electric football lovers are older, but we have great memories. We never used the quarterback. It was too difficult to operate. We just threw the passes ourselves. We even convinced our parents to buy new teams once or twice.

My dad had this in the garage back in the 80s and I thought it was just a collectors item. Never knew it was a serious thing until now.

Man, I remember having this game growing up! Me and my older brother used to play alot. I loved playing footballl growing up and into college but my brother was more into D&D though he did like to watch football and understood the game. He used to call this game turn based role playing for jocks lol I'll have to see if I can find one of these around. Would be fun to play with our kids, show them what it was like before all the electronics lol

You can set your figures where ever you choose; inside or outside. Your approach to the game will help you determine what is best for you to be successful at playing it.

How did they do the field goal? I didn't see anything move ....but that one guy had his BIG head in the way of the camera during the field goal so we couldn't see anything....assuming something did happen.

I was the 1999-2000 Champion of the now defunct Bay Area Electric Football League( BAEFL) with my team Berkeley Football Club (BFC) We had a real high level of coaching in that League...Boiled Base Scientist. The play does mimic real football in the way that most plays actually probably less than 5 seconds in duration but we usually have TV announcers filling the time. Kind of hard to tell which teams are actually playing...was it mentioned?

Rolf, Back in the day, a lot of people mistakenly played that way. When I was a kid playing the game, I worked to get the figures to at least run straight. From there, I began to discover who the best players were. My friends at the time found out things about their players. We shared ideas and traded bases among each other. All over the country were other kids like me who were doing the same thing. Decades later the Internet brought us together to form this hobby community that we have now. Elijah, Hail Mary's usually don't happen in this game because plays are resolved relatively quickly. Moreover, the nature of this game greatly reduces the chances of ever having to do a Hail Mary. Mike, The rules of this game can be tailored to fit your desires. Fundamentally speaking, a tackle is made when the defender's base touches the ball carrier's base. The same applies when the qb's base is touched behind the line of scrimmage; sack. When the ball hits the receiver, the pass is complete. It's an interception when the ball hits a defender. Penalties vary based on rule set. The most common penalty is off-sides. That happens when a team's base front is on or over the line of scrimmage. This is the hobby known as electric football. Anthony, If I had a dollar for every time somebody commented, "Dude just play Madden", I would be a millionaire. I am going to respond to you with the same reply that I said to everybody who commented, "Dude just play Madden". Here it goes. We in this hobby know full well about gaming consoles; I especially. My education and work experience is in tech. This game electric football is an entirely different game; it's in its own lane. Electric football gives us an entirely different experience. In fact, this game; electric football is more challenging to play than gaming consoles. Why? Because you the coach must do all of the work, such as team building, play execution, etc. Gaming consoles (computer\server) does the work for you; press a button on your controller and the software does the rest. How does someone get into this as a hobby? I used to do warhammer as a hobby and from seeing a different video on this earlier today there seems to be similarities as far as collecting and painting the figures. Obviously it's a completely different game but it does seem interesting to me.

This hobby is open to making whatever team that we want.

sorry for my stupid comments. why can't you pass to a reciever if they are engaged ? the offensive coach should have the chance to squeeze the ball in especially if it could be a first down. why do coaches turn the game off so fast not allowing the receivers to get open ? and why do you all not just use the ttqb every play instead of switching out. the ttqb is actually a faster runner too and what's with the leg being off of the ttqb ? sorry. great game

great to see a game of just plays and not the pre snap shifting pivots etc. this is an old game but i can watch this all day. why doesnt coach just run the ball the d coach leaves the middle of the field open all day

they have to communicate with the ACTUAL real people, so while I also don't like the "golf clap" rule, I understand it inthis situation. Now, I also suggest they get headphones. That would be cool. But then again...a community like this usually meet at rented spots meaning they have rules about noise. And even with the best intentions, things can get out of hand quick. Especially in competitive situations

We in this hobby know full well about gaming consoles; I especially. My education and work experience is in tech. This game electric football is an entirely different game; it's in its own lane. Electric football gives us an entirely different experience. In fact, this game; electric football is more challenging to play than gaming consoles. Why? Because you the coach must do all of the work, such as team building, play execution, etc. Gaming consoles (computer\server) does the work for you; press a button on your controller and the software does the rest.
