Thanks for the great review. i will take this car in the form you tested it, over the E 63AMG wagon. because of its high ground clearance and obvious sense of safety on secondary roads we tend to drive in regularly here in South Africa, and also Because of its technology. I fell in love with it deeply.

Love your videos. You have great production quality and exceptional knowledge of the vehicles you review and where you review them. I would suggest reviewing a Mercedes AMG GTS if possible.

Yes I know.It's without doubt a rip off but look how well they've done it! They ripped off BMW and in the process made a much better looking machine. If you're gonna rip someone off then that's the way to do it.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I don't like this Bmw X6 or Mercedes GLE shape. For me, the best looking suv it is and it will be Range Rover Vogue autobiography, the latest model.

That is a sweet looking thing I agree. I also like the way Porsche have worked on the styling of the Cayenne. The changes are subtle but they add up to a very nice muscular yet restraint design.

What a fantastic shock mount that camera has!

I think the reason why many sports cars like this AMG are not fitted with a sun roof is because of the weight distribution, it raises the center of gravity. I personally like the exterior styling of the GLE Coupe but would prefer an X6 over this any time because it is more dynamic to drive. Very good review, greetings from Germany

ok i'll take it ... one question; how often does this wonderful SUV have to go to the MB garage doctors to be twiddled and fixed? not sure i know too many vehicles with this amount of active gear in the build.

Before this car was produced, my top 3 SUV's were 1) BMW X6 M. 2) Porsche Cayenne twin turbo. 3) Range Rover Evoque. After this was produced and I saw it for the first time in the Jurassic World movie (and my jaw dropped right under me), I caught myself rearranging my top 3 list right there in the movie theater. This car is starting a fight with the BMW X6 M on my list and it might just win.

Motoman u didn't show the biggest difference between this and regular SUV's, the back seat. Specifically how the sloping roof affects back seat space and the drivers rear view. Cool location and fun facts about the castle though.

Great video MotoMan! But i would take the E63 AMGs wagon over this. That car is a lot more rare especially in the USA. I bet that GLE63s is still a blast to drive and can't wait for the GLE videos to come

I agree with you on the poorly placed "tablet" same as the new c class, why go through all the trouble of designing such a stunning interior just to wreck it by placing a tablet in the middle of it! Looks like an after thought to me.

This is M-B's version of the Infiniti FX-45, a decade later. I love this crossover, yes, crossover... If I weren't taking delivery of my 2016 S63 Coupe next week, I might have considered this. Maybe.

That exhaust! Lord Have Mercy! God Is My Shepherd & He Knows What I Want! (RIP Mr Mac) Yep, Everyone said the segment will flop, but BMW proved em wrong against all the odds .... Even Porsche & Audi are working on "Sport Activity Coupes" now. Gotta say, the one you drove is much better looking than that silver one they showed in Detroit ... Man that was awful. The 6-Window Silhouette looks weird ... Perhaps 4-Windows with a thick C-Pillar like the X6 would've looked better. I have to see it in person before I pass final judgment. The interior could've been & should've been better ... Its the same ML dashboard with a new screen, steering wheel & COMMAND controls. Yea, Mercedes started using Bang & Olufsen speakers in 2010 as a response to the speaker craze (alongside BMW) ... The E, CLS, GL & now GLE still use it as an upgrade from Harman\Kardon. I'll pick the GLE63 Coupe S ... I never liked the E-class. As always, excellent video M

In answer to your question MotoMan TV, I would most certainly prefer the E63 Wagon. If I were after an AMG branded SUV it would be the GL. And like a few others have said here, please do a review on a GL63 as soon as you can.

As someone who's been driving a car which started off this very segment. i think its very exciting..... But if i bought an AMG benz, i think id go for the E63 coupe or estate, coz any AMG that doesn't light up its rear tires whilst pulling insane angles isn't an AMG.

The exterior design looks way better than the new X6. Oh god, stunning i'd even say. Too bad Merc doesn't care about their cars' interiors apart from the S-class. This new GLE + X6's outstanding dash + seats, i'd buy it in a blink of an eye.

Personally I don't even see why people criticise cars like this and the BMW X6 for lacking offroad ability and "practicality" as if everyone who owns car like the BMW X5, Range Rovers, G Wagon and Porsche Cayenne ever use them offroad or for hauling anything.

Mercedes have really hit a design sweet spot right now. I reckon once they get round to reworking their SLK, bringing that in line with the new look that their cars have, an argument could be made that they make some of the best looking cars, as a whole, of any of the major car manufacturers. The only other companies that I am even more impressed with, and I predict the next of the smaller brands to break into the exec sector much like Lexus did way back when, are Hyundai and Kia. They don't have a single bad looking car in their whole line up!

It's not missing a sunroof. It dosent want one. For many reasons, Sunroofs are Not required nor desired, in my book.

How about fuel consumption?

Oh, I'd take the E63 S Wagon with this engine. It has the 4MATIC and 590 lb-ft of torque with the utility of a wagon that we all know and love. GLE hasn't grown in me as of yet. But for now, I say with this power train I'd take the Wagon.

why dont you review a couple m-powered BMWs ?
