My wife just picked up a backcountry in Xtreme purple. It's interesting to see that they weren't all built the same. We don't have a color matched top, and ours came with auto climate control. We didn't get that "trail rated" tool kit though. I looked that kit up, it's basically an extraction kit to be used with a winch. She's already told me it's not going off road....lol. We also didn't get the 3.73 ratio. Ours has just the towing package, not the max tow.

+MikesCarInfo True enough Mike. I just remember when I used to work at GM, the special editions there would all be built with full option load. It was a take it or leave it proposition, so it's interesting to see that Jeep gave the dealers in the U.S. some options. Ours just showed up at the dealer, he knew he was getting one, just not when or what would be in it. Here in Canada the Jeep had to be ordered through a special process that not all dealers had access to. It was really difficult to find a dealer that was getting one. As far as I know, the dealers didn't even have a chance to check the option boxes.

Thanks for the video. Nice review. I'll bet that tool kit box contains the MOPAR Jeep Recovery kit. Nice stuff to have.

Hey mike can you review a jeep rocky ridge, this jeep would be perfect with a lift

The bumpers are made by AEV and you can get them for any 07-current Wrangler. They run expensive but their fit is better than factory which is why just about all the special edition Wranglers use AEV stuff.

I notice you referred to the Sahara twice when comparing I believe the painted top and fenders or something else, then you showed the sheet that's usually advertised on the windshield and it did have Sahara on there. So I thinking it is a Sahara, would this be right?

OK I have two questions. do the tires and rims come stock already or were those bought separately?and second is this jeep wrangler model the back country as you said come with an automatic transmission or is it only manual? I start driving soon and I'm thinking of getting a back country or a Rubicon hard rock.

The tires and wheels are factory and you can get an automatic transmission like in the video or a manual transmission... it is your choice.

The tires are factory but and upgrade usually found on the Rubicon.

+randy mac Most likely from an aftermarket company. Jeep makes a locking kit the fits on the hood catch in the center if the hood and unlocks with a key through the grill.

Yes, it's a limited edition based on a Sahara. The official paperwork for mine states "2016 Jeep Unlimited 4x4 Sahara - Back country Edition"

damn $44k for a wrangler... i think it will be better to go for the sport and use the extra money to load it up.

Cheaper each year and poor quality.
